La Fornace di Racciano is a lovely Bed&Breakfast at a short distance (2, 8 Km) from the historical centre of medieval San Gimignano.
It consists of a typical Tuscan country house surrounded by a large flowery garden. In the past "La Fornace di Racciano" was a furnace that produced lovely terracotta pottery using local dug clay. Today, the building has been carefully renovated to maintain the typical features of the past besides the modern comforts of nowadays. La Fornace di Racciano consists in 7 comfortable rooms and two apartments.
Cristiano, the owner of B&B "La Fornace di Racciano", is a full-blooded Tuscan. His first aim is to cherish his guests and transmit them the authentic Tuscan traditions along with a presentation of the excellences of this region: history, landscape, art and crafts, cooking, wine.
This lovely Bed&Breakfast offers:
- Delightful tasting of certified local products such as ham, salami and pecorino cheese of San Gimignano, bruschetta, fresh vegetables seasoned with the good extra-virgin olive oil along with the excellent wines of San Gimignano, Chianti and Vernaccia;
- A lovely swimming pool, with a spacious sun terrace equipped with sunbeds, tables and chairs, where guests can lazily relax breathing the atmosphere of the peaceful Tuscan countryside;
- A large flowery garden with an equipped area for children with swing, slide, ping pong and a funny children playhouse;
- Precious information to visit the main historical, artistic, environmental sights, and suggestions to purchase "original Tuscan products". For the most extrovert ones, it is possible to organize balloon tours and many more interesting activities to be discovered on the spot;

Every morning, from 8. 30 to 10. 30, the intense aroma of real Italian Espresso pervades the renovated barn where breakfast is served. La Fornace di Racciano is a bed and breakfast in the heart of Tuscany run by the Boldrini Family. Purchased by Cristiano in 1990 and later renovated to become a hospitality establishment with the help of his family, it was inaugurated on August 1st, 1992. Over the years, Cristiano's wife Merzia and their children Noemi and Massimiliano have joined in taking care of the B&B, continuing the family tradition of hospitality with dedication and commitment. The breakfast products served are all local, and the cakes are freshly made every day by Merzia, a true master of Tuscan pastries and specialties! As for the reception, Noemi will be delighted to provide you with information about our territory, recommend the ideal restaurant for your dinner, a pleasant Vernaccia tasting, or help you organize a nice day trip. With the whole family, we strive to make our guests experience our traditions to the fullest, making them feel at home.

B&B "La Fornace di Racciano" is just 2, 8Km from the historical centre of San Gimignano, a town of ancient Etruscan origins that knew its higher splendour in Medieval times. The town is set along the historical Via Francigena, an ancient road followed by multitudes of merchants and pilgrims; today is still possible to walk on the original ballast for some stretches.
The medieval town, with its unique towers, is a real treasure and it is listed in the UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage.
The town features many important historical and artistic monuments such as the Romanic Duomo, the Convent of Saint Agostino, the Town Hall Palace, and historical and modern museums.
For those who are fond of Tuscan products such as wine and extra-virgin olive oil, there is a large choice; the region is rich of wine cellars which offer wine tasting and tours, and in San Gimignano there is an interesting Museum of Wine where you can taste the best wines of the region, whilst enjoying the breathtaking landscape of the Tuscan countryside.
The most prized art towns of Tuscany are within easy driving distance: Florence (45 Km), Sienna (35 Km), and many hilltop villages such as Colle di Val D'Elsa (10 Km), Certaldo, Monteriggioni (25 Km), Castellina in Chianti (30 Km), and Volterra (25 Km).

In the peaceful countryside just outside San Gimignano, a quiet and welcoming accommodation. The managers are helpful and very attentive. Large and clean room. Outdoor space and pool well-kept and well-organized. Abundant breakfast with local offerings. Excellent value for money.

Abbiamo soggiornato pochi giorni fa presso la struttura La Fornace di Racciano. Siamo stati accolti dai gestori con un caffè e acqua fresca, vista la giornata caldissima.
Abbiamo subito notato la bellezza della struttura e la magnifica vista su San Gimignano.
I gestori sono molto cordiali e non hanno avuto nessun problema ad accogliere il nostro cane, un Alaskan Malamute di taglia grande.
Le torte fatte in casa e i prodotti tipici offerti per colazione sono di ottima qualità e veramente gustosi.
La posizione per noi è ottima, a pochissimi chilometri da San Gimignano ed immersa nella collina.
La sera si può ammirare il paesaggio delle torri illuminate e un magnifico cielo stellato.
Ringrazio e saluto calorosamente i gestori e tutto il personale.

Un team accogliente sorridente e molto disponibile, delle persone con l'accoglienza nel cuore!
Un posto caloroso dove la natura incontra le comodità ma senza far battere il polso a 300 semplicemente accogliendo l'anima e dondolarla un po' e quando poi si vuole ripartire la cittadina è verosimilmente raggiungibile in due passi.

Nous étions déjà venus il y a 4 ans et on voulait absolument revenir car on avait vraiment beaucoup aimé. Cette année encore tout a été parfait: l'accueil du personnel et sa gentillesse, la beauté de la maison et du paysage, la qualité du petit déjeuner, le plaisir de la piscine et de ses transats, etc.
Un grand merci à Cristiano et Viviana pour tout. Nous espérons revenir une 3ème fois pour aller visiter les caves de Chianti que nous n'avons toujours pas été voir. A San Gimignano, ville magique, nous recommandons le restaurant Fuori Porta où l'on mange particulièrement bien. Encore merci.

Abbiamo soggiornato presso questo B&B molto romantico e suggestivo. Dalla nostra camera si poteva godere una vista su San Gimignano da cartolina. Ottima la gestione e la collaborazione dello staff sempre disponibili per qualsiasi informazione. Consiglio a tutti di soggiornarvi.
