Description

Puglia, known as the "Garden of Italy and Europe, " is known for its scenic beauty, stretching 400 kilometers, with stunning sea and beaches. The inland area is dotted with "MASSERIE, " the local term for agricultural estates. The LAIRE agritourism farm, located in Alberobello in the area known as the "Trulli and Caves, " is a testament to this past, forged for generations by the Barnaba family through a harmonious blend of agriculture and the environment. The structure, formerly known as "A Torr di coppola di Fuoco, " was important in the area as a public road station for travelers on horseback. The agritourism farm comprises mini-apartments and guesthouses (two of which are in the "Trullo" buildings), available to guests who, curious about rural traditions, the dry-stone wall environment, and the whitewashed buildings constructed from local stone, can spend and sleep in tranquility during their holidays or days of total relaxation. The strategic location offers the opportunity to enjoy a vacation that includes visits to the area's tourist attractions, including Matera, Gravina in Puglia, and the Swabian Castle. Its central location also allows for nearby visits to the Fasano Safari Zoo, the Egnazia excavations, Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, Fasano, the Castellana Caves, the "White City" of Ostuni, Brindisi, Lecce, the "Baroque" Martina Franca, Cisternino, the city of the swing bridge in Taranto, the city of San Nicola in Bari, and the city of the Sassi in Matera. Furthermore, guests enjoy complete independence with free timetables and free on-site parking. Finally, for hiking enthusiasts, a guided tour of a "Hidden Paradise" of approximately 7–14 km is available upon request. Breakfast is available upon request and can be booked. The breakfast typically made with own Italian products, and on request with the addition of salty and cheeses, is possible at the room in "Masseria". For lovers of products other than coffee there are various flavors of tea and chamomile produced on the farm. In the morning in the breakfast room you can also spend educational moments on request such as watching videos on the processing of olives, homemade pasta and cheeses (you can also take a cooking class to shape the pasta of orecchiette), or browse photos on the renovation of the stone trulli.

The LAIRE farmhouse was founded by the will of the whole Barnaba family in the Alberobello area in 1987, when few still believed in the great tourist potential of the area outside the historic center. My constant desire to bring tourism to the countryside together with my family gave rise to the "LAIRE" farmhouse. The renovation of the trullo buildings to obtain accommodation for tourists was carried out in 2010 by creating, with a lot of sweat, structures with the type of studios or rooms, with all possible comforts, in order to respect the restructuring constraints. For the guests of the farmhouse we are considered the pioneers of hospitality in the countryside, where it is possible to experience the sensations of the history of the agricultural world, attentive to what is produced and transformed into the historic and typical farm of the area, called "Masseria" with visits to the places where breeding and gastronomic processing of typical products of the area take place or took place. Area countryside

The LAIRE farmhouse is located in the Alberobello area among olive trees and "fragno" woods, with trulli and farms scattered and bordered by dry stone walls. The hilly area allowed to build in the countryside by creating a mixed landscape of rural houses and trulli where agriculture carried out with great tenacity by farmers to create a beautiful environment. Near the structure there is also a bed of a river now dried up in the times that has created a very fertile valley where we find several farms of vines, cherry, almond and arable crops of wheat, oats, barley and herb crops. The walks can be done on a path of the Apulian aqueduct channel of about 10 km, where you can see and walk the stone bridge about 100 meters high, unique in its kind.
