Pecore Ribelli

Country House

My husband and myself have decided to become farmers because we believe that living in the countryside at a close contact with natural elements and with seasonal changes is one of the best way to preserve our world.

Pecore Ribelli (namely Rebel sheeps) is an organic farm based on permaculture principles where natural elements live together with animal and vegetal productions in an harmonic way. During your staying here, you will live in an ancient Venetian Villa build in the XVIII century from the family Querini- Stampalia used for hunting.

We’ve restore this building using natural or recycled materials in a very simple style: you will find the essential things avoiding superfluous ones, like TV, so you could enjoy relax and peacefulness of the countryside.

Inside the house you will find also our mill to produce our flours with our cereals. Same grains are used also to raise poultry and livestock living on our pastures. During the period you will stay here, you can pick your own vegetables and fruit in our garden and orchard. If you would like to learn how to make your bread and pizza, to spin or how it is to live in the countryside, you are welcome!

My husband and myself have decided to become farmers because we believe that living in the countryside at a close contact with natural elements and with seasonal changes is one of the best way to preserve our world. We have an agronomic and veterinarian background but we desire to discover old jobs and traditions. We’ve learn how to mill cereals, to make ourselves our bread, to raise animals and many other experieces that we could share with you. First of all we’ve learn to respect our world.

The closest village is Oriago, 1. 5 km far, where you can take the bus towards Venice or Padua. Our farm is 2 km far from the nearest bus stop to Venice. You can reach walking or you can park very close to it in a safe place. The direct bus to Venice will take you directly to Piazzale Roma every 30 min.

Close to our facilities you can easily find typical osterias, pizzerias and restaurats or malls and supermarkets.

Our structure is in Riveria Bosco Piccolo (namely Little Wood) is a small road close to the final tract of the Riviera del Brenta. It is a quiet way where local people like to jog or ride in the countryside close to Venice municipality. In Oriago, which was also mentioned in the Divina Commedia, and along the entire Riviera del Brenta you can appreciate ancient Venetian Villas as La Malcontenta and Palazzo Ducale di Stra built from the famous Palladio. Not far from here, you can find the nice village of Dolo, painted from Tintoretto.
