“QUALITY, INNOVATION AND CULTURE OF HOSPITALITY”
THIS IS THE IDENTIKIT OF THE ITALIAN B&B
More than 2500 Italian B&Bs were polled to create the identikit of this special accommodation facility. They were selected all over the national territory, from the Alps down to Pantelleria, with the purpose of a deep analysis of the quality evolution made by the Italian Bed and Breakfast in few years The owners had to answer thirty questions so we could understand the state-of-the-art of this section of the tourist offer, understand its strength making it different from the hotel accommodation, and mainly to check its economic value. The picture revealed by the survey is quite good because the numbers of those choosing B&Bs for their overnight stays in Italy, tourists and travellers, are increasing.
It is a phenomenon crossing Italy in big cities as well as tiny, but still valuable, out of the way villages. Towns of artistic interest and old towns are obviously taking the lions share, these are the places where B&Bs made a real boom; but you can find them even in uncontaminated landscapes like Valle d’Aosta or along the shores of the minor islands of Sicily.
The survey made by www.bed-and-breakfast.it, on the occasion of the B&B Day, is divided into four sections and analyses B&Bs from many standpoints: the reception capacity of the owner, the features of the facility, the territory and the ability of the B&B to build a system together with the local tourist fabric and, obviously the type of client/guest.
