Christmas Markets in Italy
We missed Christmas markets in 2020. Beloved by children and adults alike, they gift that magic atmosphere that only Christmas can instil in even the hardest and saddest of hearts.
Most Christmas markets take place in Trentino and South Tyrol, but there are always more Italian locations that, between November and January, host the characteristic wooden stalls offering lights, performances, handicrafts, traditional sweets, and mulled wine.
TRENTINO and SOUTH TYROL
The scent is one of cinnamon and spices, of mountain wood and homemade cakes, of mulled wine and festively decorated fir trees. The colours are those of the perfectly decorated wooden stalls and the thousand lights of the Christmas tree in the square. The sounds are the sweet notes of Christmas carols and the cheerful voices of children. The Bolzano Christmas Market is a feast for all the senses, and encapsulates, warms, and transmits the truest and deepest value of Christmas. To young and old.

The Christmas markets are held in Rango, a small rural village carved into the mountain, which is included in the club of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
Every winter it hosts Christmas markets inside the old peasant houses. No prefabricated houses, but an entire village lit up with Christmas lights.
This is a unique and original Christmas market, with stalls full of gastronomic specialities and local handicrafts.
Scents and flavours unite with the beauty of the rural village: a magical handful of thoughtfully preserved houses; narrow alleys; large hallways, courtyards, and arcades; and the legacy of the herds, flocks, and solitary travellers that passed through the village.
