Description
La Viola is a historical house in Assisi, dating back to the fourteenth century, when there were three medieval “casilini” (small town houses) then merged in the Renaissance.

It has two independent entrances.

It has three large and bright bedrooms with private bathroom (Cioccolato, Mentuccia, Violetta) and a studio apartment with independent entrance (Viola. 3). The structure has been recently renovated and finely furnished, equipped with air conditioned, flat-screen TV, courtesy set and hairdryer in every single accommodation.

The whole structure is equipped with free wi-fi connection.

La Viola is located in a very central and strategic position close to the main monuments of the city: Basilica of St. Claire, Basilica of St. Francis, Cathedral of St. Rufino, Church of St. Maria Maggiore, Chiesa Nuova, Piazza del Comune with the Temple of Minerva and Volta Pinta, Roman Forum and Rocca di Assisi.

Nearby there is the public parking Matteotti, reachable on foot in five minutes or by the path of the Roman tunnel with a lift, whose entrance is in front of La Viola.

Besides the attentions due to the traditionally important and fascinating monuments (the Basilica of St. Francis, the Cathedral of St. Rufino, St. Claire, St. Peter, St. Damian, the Temple of Minerva, the Hermitage of the Carceri) Assisi is also worth a walk through the streets of the historic centre. In every season, with the wind roaring in winter, with the flower balconies, in bloom from the first days of spring until late summer, among the alleys of Assisi you can find the untouched medieval surroundings, the façades from the fourteenth-fifteenth century made of mount Subasio rose red stone, the short staircases, the little balconies and from time to time a view of the green valley below.

The central location of the property offers a suggestive panorama and allows easy and quick access to the town's main attractions of interest. Io e il mio moroso abbiamo soggiornato in questo bed&breakfast dal 8/08 al 10/08 e ci siamo trovati davvero molto bene. Si tratta di una struttura nuovissima, molto carina ed accogliente (camere esattamente come da foto). Il B&b è facilissimo da trovare e vicinissimo al centro della città. Abbiamo avuto modo di soggiornare in due stanze (verde e azzurra), una più moderna e l'altra più antica ma entrambe molto confortevoli e spaziose. Abbiamo avuto molta libertà per quanto riguarda gli orari. La colazione viene fornita in una piccola saletta dove vengono serviti direttamente dalla padrona di casa caffè, cappuccino, cornetti, succo, marmellatine e biscotti, ecc. Tutto buono ma potrebbe essere un po' più ricco. Ringraziamo la padrona di casa per tutti i consigli che ci ha dato e per la cordialità. Ottimo il ristorantino appena sotto il B&B che ci è stato consigliato; leggermente lontano dal centro ma molto molto intimo. Sicuramente ritorneremo per un'altra futura visita nel meraviglioso e magico paesino che è Assisi.
