La Viola is a historic residence located in Assisi at Via Sermei 6, with origins dating back to the 11th century. Initially consisting of three medieval "casilini," this home was renovated and merged during the Renaissance period.
The property features two independent entrances and includes three spacious, bright rooms (Cioccolato, Mentuccia, Violetta), each with its own private bathroom, as well as a studio with a separate entrance (Viola 3). Recently refurbished and elegantly furnished, each unit is equipped with air conditioning, a TV, complimentary toiletries, and a hairdryer. Furthermore, the entire residence has Wi-Fi access.
Viola 2 is an apartment created within a building that dates back to Roman and early medieval times, located at Via degli Orti 4, less than 50 meters from the Santa Chiara square. This space is designed to accommodate up to five people comfortably and includes two bathrooms.
The apartment walls feature charming stone support arches, likely from the 8th century, along with arches and cross vaults from later periods. Beneath the flooring, remnants of the Roman city can still be seen, including the Sanguinone aqueduct, which can be accessed through a well that was opened in the early medieval period and used until World War II for both water supply and as a shelter during bombings.
Respecting the historical value of the building, Viola 2 provides all the modern comforts for the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. The structure and manager are excellent. Manuela was really kind and helpful in giving us tips on what to visit and where to go for dinner, recommending local places rather than purely touristy ones. The room she assigned us was really beautiful and especially very clean, and the decor was taken care of in every detail. The location of the structure is in the historic center with a view of the beautiful Basilica of Santa Chiara. We will definitely return, it was a relaxing weekend.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this bed & breakfast from 8 August to 10 August and we really enjoyed it. It is a brand new, very nice and cozy property (rooms exactly like in the photos). The B&B is very easy to find and very close to the city center. We had the opportunity to stay in two rooms (green and blue), one more modern and the other more ancient but both very comfortable and spacious. We had a lot of freedom regarding the schedules. Breakfast is provided in a small room where coffee, cappuccino, croissants, juice, little jams and cookies are served directly by the landlady, etc. All good but it could be a bit richer. We thank the landlady for all the advice she gave us and for her friendliness. Excellent the little restaurant just below the B&B that was recommended to us; slightly far from the center but very intimate. We will definitely return for another future visit to the wonderful and magical little village of Assisi.
