In Puccini's Lucca, the Prince Calaf Bed & Breakfast and Guest House is located about a 10-minute walk from the ancient city walls. The B&B is easily accessible due to its proximity to the S.S. del Brennero and is situated in a building from the 1930s with a private courtyard where parking is possible.
The house, formerly a residence, has recently been adapted and features various types of rooms divided between the ground floor, first floor, and attic. The rooms are named after the works or characters of Giacomo Puccini; in fact, Prince Calaf was the lover of "Turandot," the composer's last famous opera.
Breakfast at Prince Calaf is varied and caters to different dietary needs, including gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegan options.

The well-preserved historic center boasts numerous churches, towers, museums, and famous squares such as the Anfiteatro and the birthplace of Puccini. Lucca hosts must-see events like Lucca Comics, the Summer Festival, concerts dedicated to Puccini and other musicians, Murabilia (an exhibition-market of unusual flowers and plants), fairs, and cultural meetings.
Excursions to the nearby Garfagnana with its majestic mountains and interesting towns like Barga, Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, and Bagni di Lucca are also very beautiful.

The welcome was very good and Sabrina and Martina were very kind. However, the room (number 2) was below expectations: quite bare and cold (we recommend a light color on the walls that matches the ceiling), the furnishings are not well taken care of (there is also no bedside table for the third bed and the bed squeaks), and the mattresses are too hard, very uncomfortable. The painted ceiling remains beautiful.

The beautiful villa is located in an optimal position, just 5 minutes from the walls. The staff is very kind and friendly. The room where I stayed was spacious and clean, equipped with air conditioning and TV. I will definitely come back.
