Al Gattosaggio is primarily our home, which we have carefully renovated with great attention to the environmental impact. As soon as you enter, you can feel that it is a special place where relaxation, gastronomy, culture, nature, hiking, and workshops find a balance to offer our guests an unforgettable vacation. We are located in the beautiful setting of Montecarlo di Lucca, a medieval village whose territory is renowned for the high-quality production of wine and extra virgin olive oil. Our four rooms are set in the absolute tranquility of a one-hectare olive grove; a spacious and bright veranda overlooking the garden welcomes our guests during breakfast.

Located on a hill 162 meters above sea level, Montecarlo di Lucca is a picturesque and beautifully preserved medieval village situated between Lucca (16 km; approximately 30 minutes by car), Pisa (45 km; approximately 40 minutes by car) and Florence (66 km; approximately 60 minutes by car).
The village was founded in 1333 by the Lucchese government and Emperor Charles IV of Bohemia as a fortified outpost and for centuries it was the scene of disputes among the Pisans, Lucchese and Florentines. These centuries of history have left rich evidence on the territory and enriched the village with a splendid and perfectly preserved fortress.
What strikes most about Montecarlo is the care with which the village has been enhanced and the attention paid to the cultivation of vineyards and olive groves on the hillside. This generosity and dedication has given rise to excellent products and the smallest D.O.C in Italy.

I can't find the right words to describe how good we felt... The owners welcomed us with a truly rare care! Alessandra delighted us with the stories and legends of this corner of Tuscany... and then pampered us with the completely organic bath products she created. In the morning, a very rich breakfast awaited us, meticulously prepared: high pastry, unique recipes, always made with the fruits their land offers. And to finish, the structure is simply wonderful! Every corner is well cared for, the rooms very clean, fragrant, the common areas so welcoming! The large garden is an oasis of relaxation, among the olive trees and a very large pool! For us it was only one night, but the cuddles received gave us an incredible vital energy! Alessandra and her beautiful family have entered our hearts. Thank you very much.
