B&B Antica Foresteria di Tòsina

A thousand years of hospitality nestled in the heart of the Florentine mountains, surrounded by woods, ancient trails, and places steeped in history dating back to the Middle Ages. Tòsina welcomes guests in a 14th-century guesthouse, part of an old Camaldolese monastic complex founded in 1030, just steps away from the Church of Santa Margherita di Antiochia.

The building has been restored and revitalized thanks to the dedication of the young volunteers from the group "Perché No?". This initiative has brought new life to a site of great historical significance while also creating job opportunities in the area for the very youth involved in its revival.

The guesthouse retains the timeless charm of old inns that once hosted travelers, reimagined in a modern style to provide a comfortable and genuine stay. There are four rooms available, each with a private bathroom and breakfast included, each distinguished by its own character and a unique connection to the surrounding history and landscape.

The Camaldolese Room, located on the ground floor, preserves evocative relics of the past, featuring a 14th-century doorway and ancient walls of Lombard origin; it is furnished with a double bed and a bunk bed, accommodating up to four guests. The Pilgrim’s Castle Room is designed especially for those on walking routes and offers four bunk beds, with a total capacity of eight people. The Forest Room, more intimate and peaceful, overlooks the garden and is equipped with a double bed. The Host’s Guelfa Room, spacious and versatile, is ideal for families and small groups, featuring a double bed and two bunk beds to host up to six guests.

Tòsina is an official stop on the Via dei Monasteri, the route connecting Florence to the Hermitage of Camaldoli, which in this area links to the Via di Francesco towards the Sanctuary of La Verna. This location is particularly appealing for hikers, pilgrims, and cycling tourists, as well as anyone wishing to spend a few days immersed in the tranquility of the Apennines.

The property is situated between the Abbey of Vallombrosa, Monte Secchieta, and the Passo della Consuma, about an hour from Florence, in an ideal area for trekking, cycling routes, and excursions exploring the Florentine mountains. Small pets are welcome.
