Description
The "Terrauzza sul Mare" Agriturismo overlooks the splendid Ionian Sea coast on the Plemmirio promontory, where the first Ionic Greek settlers arrived between the 18th and 17th centuries BC and then the Dorians who founded the city of Syracuse. Managed by Renata and Giuseppe, it has nine air-conditioned and equipped apartments, surrounded by greenery, which can accommodate two or more people. The 11-hectare farm produces field vegetables and a small amount of lemons and olive oil.
Terrauzza sul Mare is only 8 km from the city of Syracuse and 22 km from Noto, both cities declared World Heritage by UNESCO for their archaeological heritage and for the Baroque style of their eighteenth-century buildings. Another UNESCO site 50 km away is Palazzolo Acreide, also a Baroque and archaeological city with its Greek theater.
Every year, the Greek Classical Representations with the works of ancient Greek playwrights and also the small theater of Palazzolo Acreide host a cycle of classic performances in the Greek theater of Syracuse.
Terrauzza sul Mare is then 70 km from Catania airport and is served by the urban public transport service that connects it to Syracuse. Breakfast is not offered, but some welcome products (coffee, sugar, biscuits, homemade jam) are available in the accommodation.
Each apartment consists of a bedroom, entrance with kitchen, bathroom with shower, and an outdoor space. The peace and smells of the garden, especially in spring, are the characteristics that make Terrauzza sul Mare the ideal place for a truly relaxing holiday.
Access to the sea is through the internal road that leads to a rocky beach, thus designed by Etna some million years ago, and thus remained uncontaminated and now included in the Protected Marine Area of Plemmirio, with clear and warm sea.
The sand is found starting from 1 km south to Capo Passero passing through the splendid beaches of Vendicari or San Lorenzo.
The company does not have a restaurant but already at 100 meters, there is a good trattoria-pizzeria and within 5 km other good restaurants on the sea. Within 1.5 km, there are also two good markets, also providing ready-made food.
The company also has a wooded camper parking area.

With a group of friends, riding our motorcycles, we stayed for five days. The courtesy of the lady and her husband at the reception was great. The owners were very courteous. The structure allows for cooking. We spent evenings in tranquility and joy. Highly recommended.

The apartment is located in an area far from other facilities and in the middle of the countryside. The sea is 100 meters away, a very favorable location. Unfortunately, the area around the house is not well maintained. The cleanliness of the meadows and the undergrowth is not the strong point. The apartment is basic and rustic, suitable for one night.

We couldn't have found better. My wife Francesca and I, we left with the promise to return, nothing to complain about, what you see on the website is what we found. Extremely kind and helpful managers, I don't recommend it to everyone, otherwise next time I won't find a place for me.
