L'Acanto is a bed and breakfast located in Syracuse, right in the heart of the historic center of Ortigia Island, nestled within a 14th-century courtyard, just a short walk from the charming Piazza Archimede and the picturesque Piazza Duomo.

The 19th-century building features distinctive vaulted ceilings adorned with frescoes. Guests can enjoy a sun terrace and a small kitchen equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine, and kettle. Giuliana will be available to assist you with any needs you may have.

The rooms, two of which have balconies overlooking the courtyard and three that open onto a quaint patio, are decorated in traditional Sicilian style. They are bright and quiet, each equipped with a private bathroom, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, and free Wi-Fi. I had a great five-night stay here. The room was clean and everything worked, including the A/C. The Italian breakfast was very nice, with a lot of options to choose from. The hostess was very helpful and responsive. The location of the property couldn't be better if your goal is to be in the center of Ortigia, as everything in Ortigia is just a short walk away. If you want 'luxurious', you might want to look at places that cost a lot more. On the other hand, if you're looking for a nice, clean and cozy place in Ortigia with a good price-to-value ratio, then this is an excellent choice. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Ortigia.
