Historical palace located in the heart of the Sassi.
Just a five-minute walk from the Duomo, this apartment is a characteristic dwelling in the Sassi, built with tuff stone and featuring spacious rooms with barrel vaults or wooden ceilings. Guests have access to a large terrace with a beautiful panoramic view of the ancient city and the Matera Natural Park.
Quiet, functional, and welcoming.
We have availability of two rooms. The bathrooms, located inside the rooms, are for the private use of guests and equipped with showers.
The kitchen-breakfast room is shared among the rooms and is equipped with a coffee machine, tea kettle, toaster, and small oven.
Wi-Fi connection, a washing machine for long stays, towels, and bed sheets are provided.
It is possible to add an additional bed or crib for children.

Le B&B CORTE DEI VENTI est situé au cœur des Sassi de Matera, dans une ancienne maison construite entre le XVe et le XVIIe siècle. Moi, Serena et mon mari Marco, architectes, avons suivi directement les travaux de restauration en 2000, qui ont restauré le bâtiment, après des décennies d’abandon, afin qu’il retrouve sa beauté d’origine, dans le respect des caractéristiques historiques et architecturales.
Dans la décoration intérieure, nous avons combiné des éléments de la tradition typique de Matera, créés à la main et utilisés avec originalité dans des petits détails modernes.
Les clients séjourneront dans des environnements caractéristiques qui ramèneraient à la simplicité originelle des Sassi, décrite par le sociologue Friedmann, qui décrit la vie comme une pierre dans les pierres.
"... La pauvreté représente beaucoup plus qu'un état de condition matérielle..c'est un mode de vie, une philosophie.." Frederich Friedmann (1949). D'où notre choix esthétique / émotionnel de ne pas inclure la télévision.
La position centrale et panoramique..depuis la terrasse commune, vous pourrez admirer une vue imprenable sur le parc de la Murgia qui continue avec la vue sur l'ensemble du Sasso Caveoso avec la Piazza di San Pietro Caveoso et l'église de Madonna del Idris.
En continuant l'ascension, derrière le bâtiment, vous arrivez au Duomo et au centre-ville historique.
Tous les lieux d'intérêt historique et artistique, restaurants, cafés, boutiques d'artisanat et boutiques sont accessibles à pied.

A dive into the heart of the stones. An apartment just renovated, very well-kept and in a wonderful position with an incredible view of Sasso Caveoso. Serena, the host, is a cultured, welcoming, and always available person. The rich and varied breakfast on the panoramic terrace makes the start of the day special. Highly recommended.
