Surrounded by a large garden with flowers and plants typical of the Mediterranean, just few minutes from some of the beautiful beaches that characterize the coast of Maratea, "Casa del Gelso" offers a relaxing stay in a quiet, friendly and comfortable atmosphere. The spacious and bright rooms, have an independent entrance, private bathroom and terrace, air conditioning, TV, mini-fridge, safe. Breakfast is served on a large outdoor terrace with sea view and it is enriched with small delicacies of the season of own production (pears, figs, mulberries, persimmons, blackberries, etc.). Free private parking. Nearby, within walking distance, there are some excellent restaurants and a spa.

Hello, my name is Nadia, I am 51 years old and I have a 15-year-old son. Together with my mother Lidia, a lively and energetic seventy-eight-year-old, we manage our small B&B. I love Maratea and all of Basilicata, and after a short period of being away, I have decided to come back to stay.

I try to convey this passion and deep connection with my land to my guests, welcoming them with warmth and simplicity, and showing them the most authentic and less touristy part of our territory. This is also made possible thanks to the help of my brother-in-law Pompeo, a geologist and great connoisseur not only of our areas but also of the surrounding ones (he created the maps and guides that we offer for free to our guests).

Our home is open to anyone who desires a peaceful vacation, immersed in nature and in a familiar yet comfortable environment. We look forward to welcoming you!

Delightful stay. We were pampered by the hosts throughout the holiday. The B&B is charming, cared for in every detail and very clean. We really enjoyed having a private, intimate space in the very flowery garden. Nadia and her mother Lidia are very helpful, friendly people who prepared tasty breakfasts with jams and cakes made by them. Pompeo, an impeccable waiter renowned for his preparation of morning barley coffee.

The attention of the host Nadia was special. The train was delayed and we arrived late at night at the station and the host was kind enough to send a driver to pick us up. Nadia's mother was very attentive and her attention was beautiful. I recommend the inn 100%.

La Casa del Gelso is a corner of peace immersed in the greenery, with a view of the sea that can be enjoyed from the terrace during breakfast (excellent and abundant). Our accommodation had a small private patio, very pleasant to enjoy the coolness and relax. Everything is furnished with sober taste and small details that make the atmosphere simple and refined: a flower from the garden, a Vietri ceramic. The room is comfortable, equipped with everything you need, including a mini fridge, and it is cool even in the highest temperatures (there is air conditioning anyway), with very comfortable bed and pillows. The cleanliness is impeccable. The family of the owners is very welcoming and discreet, full of attentions and good advice but not intrusive. The area is wonderful, it was a discovery because it is not very touristy, so it is quiet and authentic, but full of coves (and excellent restaurants) to discover, an excellent base for excursions on the coast of Maratea and in Cilento. The quality-price ratio is very honest. A wonderful holiday in every aspect, thanks to Nadia and Pompeo, we hope to return soon.

We have been traveling in Basilicata and Calabria for 10 days. We stayed at B&B The Mulberry Tree on our first night, and it is by far the best of all. The house and room were charming, including perfectly tended flowers and trees; the hosts were amiable and kind (Nadia even drove us to a restaurant!); the view was stunning; and breakfast, eaten while enjoying that view, could not have been better. The Mulberry Tree set a very high bar for quality and value; no one else has come close. Thank you so much!

The host, Nadia, and her brother-in-law were very friendly and helpful, advising us where to go for walks and what to see during our stay. The room was very nice and clean, and the garden area was cosy and peaceful. The breakfast made by Nadia's mother was excellent, homemade cakes and jam, yogurt, frittata, ham, and cheese - everything you would wish for. We had our breakfast on the terrace with the most marvelous view over the sea. We would like to come back and bring some friends along.

We LOVED this B&B in the Maratea area located in Acquafredda. The room was very clean and the breakfasts were phenomenal, including the views. The whole family are very friendly and welcoming. Nadia ensured our stay was extremely comfortable and her brother-in-law, a well-known map maker, recommended some of his favorite hikes for us. We could have easily stayed a few more days to enjoy the room, the family and the area.

I wouldn't know where to start, splendid structure, furnishings curated with class and elegance even and especially in the smallest details, fresh and welcoming room (canopy / mosquito net on the bed a gem), tastefully furnished, space in front of the room a terrace shaded by a beautiful hazelnut tree, well-kept and abundant breakfast, perfection in short better but much better than a 4-star hotel! I forgot, kind and welcoming owners... we will definitely return.

The structure is immersed in nature, hard to find without the clear directions provided by the managers. The room was very clean and welcoming including a private outdoor space where you can relax on comfortable loungers. The managers are very courteous and kind and always available to give directions. Breakfast, served on tables on the terrace with sea view, is really rich in everything and full of fresh products made at home and/or from their farm. Truly a pleasant stay.

Simple and very well-kept structure. The owners are exquisite and available people. Serene and family-friendly environment. The sea is just a few hundred meters away (the path is a bit bumpy, but passable) and is worth the trip! Just a few minutes from Maratea and Sapri. Highly recommended.
