The Bed & Breakfast Il Giglio Casa Albergo is located in a building dating back to the early 1800s, in the historic center of Rotondella, recently awarded as the third most beautiful village in Italy.
Purchased in a state of abandonment, the building has been carefully renovated to create two rooms with en-suite bathrooms for a total of 5 beds for guests. The rooms maintain the charm of the past, with original wooden skirting boards, exposed stone walls, and wooden floors. Everything has been modernized, creating a perfect blend of the ancient and the latest trends and needs, such as free Wi-Fi throughout the property.
Il Giglio Casa Albergo is located in an enviable position between the sea and the mountains. Just a 15-minute drive from the Ionian beaches and an hour from the Pollino National Park, it is an ideal destination both in summer and winter.
The tranquility of the place makes it particularly suitable for those who want to enjoy a stay in absolute relaxation in the comfort of our rooms, immersed in an almost surreal silence and enjoying the natural freshness that the village offers at an altitude of almost 600 meters, from where you can admire the entire Gulf of Taranto.
During the summer, the Municipality activates a shuttle service to the beach at affordable prices.

Structure near a free parking, a stone's throw from the town's main street and eateries (hold your enthusiasm), therefore quite well served by essential services (bar, tobacco shop, pharmacy, deli). But then: 1) As soon as you enter, there's a smell of mold and dampness that forced me to take an antihistamine to open up my airways. 2) Lack of mosquito nets, so any insect and animal can enter the house. 3) No TV (never seen in my life a b&b without TV, everything must be there to feel at home; if I pay, it's like that and that's it, no arrogance or demanding the Moon). 4) No air conditioner or at least a fan. 5) And the worst thing is that the owner, once informed of the shortcomings in his structure (after leaving the room I explained everything to him, and on reviews many people have complained about the same situation), instead of understanding where he goes wrong, he replies that before going we should ask in any structure if there are mold or humidity problems... hahahahh 😂 no, are we kidding? The same tone used to respond to the same criticisms by other customers, pure arrogance! Change jobs, you're not good, do something else.

The structure is very clean and well made. The owner, Rocco, is very kind and helpful. The breakfast at the affiliated bar is of excellent quality, the croissants and creams are homemade. The location of the structure is a bit peculiar, as it is reachable only on foot facing a nice climb.

Very pleasant, brand new and clean structure. Breakfast is simple, at Bar Tropical, with freshly baked croissants. I would say everything is fantastic. The owner is a very professional person. Everything is excellent.

I am sorry to give a very low rating to this accommodation. Very courteous staff but the room does not reflect the score on the portal. 1. Lack of air conditioning. We were forced to keep the windows open (without mosquito net). Being on the ground floor, we found a cat in the room upon returning at night! 2. It lacks good lighting to illuminate the room. Beautiful dim lights but not functional. 3. Bathroom chapter: large but the curtain around the shower is unhygienic and motel-like. A glass shower box with a few more funds would be ideal.

Per questo mi rincresce tantissimo dover rispondere infastidito e con un po' di amarezza, ma sono costretto a farlo, ci tengo. Premessa: le recensioni vengono rilasciate dagli ospiti come lei. Scrivendo che la stanza non rispecchia il punteggio del portale dimostra che lei non ha rispetto per le opinioni altrui (le assicuro che in tanti si sono trovati benissimo) credendo di avere la verità in tasca. Questo lo trovo un po' presuntuoso come atteggiamento. Inoltre, personale molto cortese, lo ha scritto lei, ma vedo un voto 5, mah non capisco. Ma procediamo per punti. 1. Si è vero siamo sprovvisti di aria condizionata, un po' per motivi architettonici, ma anche un po' per scelta e anche perchè non c'è una così grande esigenza. Proprio la camera dove avete soggiornato ha una temperatura assolutamente gradevole. Il balcone non ha la zanzariera ma la finestra si, cosa che a quanto pare non avete notato visto che parlate di finestre al plurale (e purtroppo questa è una bugia). In ogni caso bastava tenere aperta la finestra con la zanzariera oppure in fase di prenotazione impostare un filtro nella ricerca di struttura dotata di aria condizionata e la mia struttura non sarebbe mai venuta fuori, dal momento che negli annunci non compare, così come non compare ad esempio la vasca idromassaggio, semplicemente perchè non c'è. Ma anche questo aspetto lo ha trascurato. 2. Questo è l'unico punto sul quale trovo che la critica abbia senso anche per come è stata esposta, sono obiettivo. Le luci sono soffuse è vero e mi spiace se non si sono dimostrate sufficienti. Devo dire però che non ho mai ricevuto critiche a riguardo, quindi accetto la sua ben volentieri. 3. Su questo punto purtroppo non posso essere per niente tollerante, perchè rappresenta la parte più offensiva e ingiusta. Oltretutto dimostra la sua scarsa conoscenza del settore. Il bagno in questione è stato concepito anche per ospitare persone diversamente abili come ampiamente dimostrato dalla grandezza (cosa che lei ha giustamente notato), dalla presenza di maniglioni, lavabo accessibile, water rialzato, il seggiolino all'interno della doccia (tutte cose però che lei non ha notato seppur ben visibili). La tenda fa parte delle dotazioni necessarie allo scopo di cui sopra e viene ovviamente disinfettata. Può da solo capire che la presenza del box doccia non è sinonimo di igiene, dipende. Inoltre se la tenda è da motel, beh il mio è un b&b quindi siamo al di sotto come categoria (questo lo dice la legge), ma così scrivendo offende anche la categoria dei motel. Ma la mancanza di rispetto più grande è rivolta verso quelle persone che invece, guarda un po', hanno bisogno della tenda per entrare in doccia invece del suo box 'a pochi soldi' per il quale non ho bisogno del suo consiglio arrogante e sgradevole. Il bello è che tutto questo si può evincere dalle foto pubblicate che non nascondono nulla. Ha prenotato lei dal sito il giorno dopo avermi chiamato al telefono. Non si può dare una recensione così con la consapevolezza di ciò che avete acquistato, mi dispiace dirlo. Rotondella is delightful. Very pleasant days were spent discovering lesser-known yet charming places. The room was perfect. The care and attention of the manager towards us was great. We will return.

Nice structure although the access is a bit difficult. However, it is welcoming and interesting. The only thing is that more attention needs to be paid to the room, for example, the television and the bathroom could be better maintained, even though they are clean. Overall, a good accommodation structure.

Appartement très agréable avec une chambre et salle de bain privative très propre. Les personnes qui s'occupent de ce B&B étaient très sympatique.
Rotondella est une ville magnifique que je recommende grandement pour un court séjour et l'appartement est situé dans le centre.
