The Holiday House La Cava nel Barisano Suite is a unique place located in the heart of Matera, a centre of art and culture. This prestigious dwelling, characterised by attention to detail, revives the emotions of the past. Excavated in the hypogeum, the structure offers a breathtaking panoramic view and is located in the Sasso Barisano area.
Surroundings:
Travellers staying with us can take beautiful walks in the morning in the silence of nature, immerse themselves in the colours and lights of the shopping streets, discover handicrafts, follow food and wine itineraries and participate in cultural events and exhibitions. There are several monuments and famous sights in the vicinity, including the Cathedral, which is only 250 metres away.

HOW TO REACH THE HOUSE
If you book your holiday in the Cava nel Barisano Suite Matera, you will need to take a few things into account before you leave. The house is in fact located in a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL), where access is allowed only to residents and authorised vehicles. To avoid fines and inconvenience, we advise you to follow these simple tips:
- Wear comfortable shoes, because you will have to walk through the streets of the historic centre, made up of stairs, alleys and stones.
- Choose one of the following options for parking and transport:
- Find paid parking (€1, 00 per hour) near the entrance to the ZTL, on Via Santo Stefano, Via Pentasuglia or Via Gattini. From there, walk to the holiday home, following the signs for the Church of San Pietro Barisano.
- Leave your car in Via Saragat (RECOMMENDED), where there is a large paid city car park (€ 0. 50 per hour) with around 500 parking spaces. From there, you can take the shuttle bus that runs every 30 minutes and get off at the Sant'Agostino stop (stop number 4). Walk about 300 metres to the apartment, which is located next to the restaurant 'La Nicchia nei Sassi'.
- Alternatively, after parking your car in Via Saragat, you can call the €30 taxi A/R that will take you to the house.
