Description

The B&B "Vista Mare" is situated in the quiet Marina di Maratea, at 2 minutes from the cliff and 7/8 minutes walk from the beach of Santa Teresa. By car, you can reach in few minutes many other beautiful beaches that make up the coast of Maratea, such as: Calaficarra, Illicini, Spiaggia Nera, Macarro, La Secca, l'Agnola, Santo Janni. From the terrace of the "Vista Mare", it's possible to see the Policastro's Gulf up to the statue of the Christ, which dominates the San Biagio's Mount.

Every room has independent access, private bathroom in-room, car parking, air conditioning, flat screen TV, hairdryer and free wi-fi. The change of the towels is daily, while the beds are changed every 3 days. We provide our guests with shower-shampoo and soap bars individually wrapped (NO anti-hygienic dispenser!)

We offer a typical sweet Italian breakfast: croissants, a sweet pastry (which changes daily!), jams (both packaged and homemade), butter, yogurt, hot and cold drinks (coffee, tea, cappuccino, juices), biscuits, rusks, and fruit.

From June to September, breakfast is served from 8:00 to 9:00 on the panoramic terrace.

During the other months, we serve a croissant and cappuccino in the room at a mutually agreed upon time.

My paternal grandfather, who returned from Venezuela, opened a hotel in Cilento in the 80s, so I can say I was born into the hospitality industry. Since I was 17 years old, I have always worked in hotels, first in the dining room and then at the reception desk. For 8 years, I was the head of reception at a hotel in Maratea, until my wife and I decided to leave our respective jobs to open our own B&B: Vista Mare Maratea.

Before embarking on this venture, we traveled a bit around Italy and Europe: Rome, Naples, Matera, Florence, Paris, Brussels, Prague, London, Madrid, and just over a month in Toledo. Besides enjoying the destinations, we tried to understand the needs and expectations of travelers, and we will always strive to be available to all those who come to discover Maratea, always being by the guests' side without being intrusive.

The Vista Mare is located in the beautiful and very quiet Marina di Maratea, where the green dives into the blue.

In just a few minutes, on foot, you can reach Santa Teresa beach, while by car you can choose from a myriad of beaches, such as Macarro, Spiaggia Nera, Calaficarra, Illicini, Santo Janni, La Secca, and many others.

The staircase below the B&B, consisting of about a hundred steps, leads directly to the unspoiled cliff overlooking Valle D'Acqua and the Grotta di Judia.

By following the SS18 northbound, you can reach the historic center of Maratea in less than 10 minutes; the Statue of the Redeemer is located just a little higher up and can be reached in about 15/20 minutes. Continuing south, Marina di Tortora and Praia a Mare (in nearby Calabria) can be reached in less than 10 minutes.

For those who stay for more than a few days, we recommend a visit to the inland areas as well: Trecchina, Nemoli, and Rivello, for example, are beautiful towns in the Lucanian hinterland.

I stayed 6 days in the single room. The structure has an exceptional view of the gulf able to cure any "bad" mood. The room is very clean, the facilities are new.\nI appreciated the kindness, the attentions and the organization of the host who is also affiliated with a restaurant within walking distance and with a couple of beach establishments in the area.\nEven the assigned parking space was a convenience, not essential but appreciated.\nGreat care and great attention to the guest.

The enchanting view from the terrace where you have a great breakfast alone would be worth choosing this B&B. Nonetheless, there is much more: the rooms are beautiful and comfortable, equipped with services for a relaxing holiday (private internal bathroom, air conditioning, hairdryer, free wi-fi, mini fridge, with very accurate cleaning and linen changes) and there is a dedicated parking space for each room. Besides the view, what amazes is the service: the attention and preparation of the manager (Luca) go beyond all expectations. He was very kind and attentive to all our needs and advised us on everything, from the free beaches to discover to the exclusive ones to book, from the restaurants to dine in to the experiences to fully enjoy this wonderful place (fabulous kayak and boat trips!). And he never disappointed us! Thank you for everything Luca, we will be back! Super highly recommended!

If you want a holiday where the keyword is relaxation, then B&B Vista Mare is the best place. The rooms are surrounded by greenery and tranquility. Not far from the center of Maratea and all the beautiful beaches in the area. Luca is a very kind person, super helpful, welcoming, kind, always ready to meet every request, truly an exceptional person. Breakfast is served on the terrace and is really rich and delicious, with excellent quality products (the homemade sweet made by Luca's wife is exceptional). My husband and I were very happy with this short vacation. I recommend it to everyone.

Rooms as in the pictures. Spacious bathroom. Veranda with stunning view. Quiet place and very convenient location to reach all the surrounding places of interest although a car is still needed to move around. Private parking. Super helpful manager. If we really want to find a flaw, there is no fridge in the room, otherwise no defects. Excellent value for money.

Fantastic experience, absolutely recommended to everyone! Our room was well-kept, clean, and the bed very comfortable. The B&B Vista Mare has a spectacular view and a very relaxing and intimate atmosphere. But the best part of the stay was Luca and his wife who gave us a lot of tips and contacts to make our Maratea experience truly extraordinary, spoiled us with their sweets, made us feel at ease, and allowed us to have a very pleasant (but too short!) holiday. I stayed last year in June but only now I find a minute to spend a few words on this excellent B&B Vista Mare. Small but well-kept and very clean room, bathroom with window. What was perhaps missing is a camping fridge to at least keep some drinks cool. Excellent breakfast served on the terrace with a stunning view of the sea. The owner Luca, a very professional person, was very kind in picking us up, giving us advice for our stay, and helping us on the last day when we had a car breakdown as we had to proceed to Sicily, we cannot forget the exquisite homemade cakes made by his wife. I would like to thank them once again for their availability and thank you Luca for the lemons we ate during our vacation.

"An oasis of peace and tranquility".\n\nWe stayed for two nights, enough to grasp and appreciate every positive aspect of the location and the hosts, Luca: friendly, kind, welcoming, and available for any information and suggestion, skilled at solving any problem. He also provided us with discount vouchers for restaurants and beach clubs, along with a recommendation for the "most beautiful spot". Katrin: the "fairy" of the tidy and clean rooms and the exquisite cakes at breakfast! Waking up with a view of the sea, sky, lemon, and fig trees; fantastic sunsets, absolute peace and silence, total relaxation. What can I say, simply fantastic.

I can only speak well of this structure that struck me immediately. The view from the terrace is spectacular as it overlooks the sea, the entrance to the rooms is independent and therefore this view can be enjoyed at any time simply by stepping out of the room door and even during breakfast! The atmosphere is absolutely relaxing and the precision, kindness, and care of everything by the owners is a true sign that there is a great passion in the choice they have made. The room is spacious and absolutely clean. The breakfast is varied and of high quality, the still warm croissants are simply delicious. Gianluca, the owner, informed us about everything we could do in the area, indicated the best places to eat, and everything that could also be enjoyable for our son. In short, absolutely recommended. A special thanks to Gianluca and good luck for the new business that I would say has already started off great.

By chance I found this accommodation and I must say that I couldn't have been luckier. Panoramic location immersed in greenery, room with new furniture and excellent bathroom. Excellent and abundant breakfast. Many coves and beaches at a very short distance, for all tastes. The village of Maratea is cute and charming. A compliment and a thank you to the owner Luca and his wife, who made us feel at home, providing impeccable assistance combined with great kindness. We will definitely be back. Finally, I highly recommend taking at least one excursion along the South coast which is spectacular. Maratea is a corner of paradise.

What a discovery! Unfortunately, we stayed only one night in room three! A very cozy room, a queen-size bed, a large bathroom, impeccable cleanliness and a breathtaking sea view! The property has a strategic location between Maratea and Praia a Mare, reachable in 10 minutes by car! Luca was very kind, he booked a table for us at the restaurant next door where we also got a discount thanks to him, and we ate very well. He gave us a lot of information to move around and about the beaches to visit! Rich and delicious sweet buffet breakfast! Highly recommended.
