B&B Ponticello a San Potito

My wife and I were guests at the B&B "Ponticello a San Potito". The place is located in the heart of the historic center of Matera, in an ideal position to visit the city. It is charming, welcoming, equipped with every comfort, furnished with taste and cared for in every detail. But what makes it unique are its two owners: Mrs. Amabile and her husband Lorenzo, very kind and cordial people, in love with their land, they were able to advise us and make us fall in love with their city as well.

Very unique structure that allows you to experience staying in a stone. The location is excellent, practically in Piazza Duomo and therefore in a very central position to visit both the stones. Amabile Trilli and her husband have always been very kind and full of advice on what to visit.

You are truly immersed in the atmosphere of the 'B&B Ponticello a San Potito', you can breathe history in a location taken care of in every detail, welcoming and magical. The owner a special person.

We had a fabulous time! The place is beautiful and meticulously cared for, considering it is in the Sassi it is relatively easy to reach on foot and Mrs. Trilli is uniquely kind! We will do everything to come back! Thanks again for your hospitality, Mrs. Trilli! Warm greetings from Germany.

Very beautiful and characteristic room, great location in the city center, the owner is very kind and super helpful, we will definitely come back.

Staying in Matera was very nice and relaxing. The B&B Ponticello a San Potito is located in the city center, just a few steps away from all necessities: restaurants, bars, and tourist attractions. The street is very quiet in the evening, no noise, but crowded during the day as it is a passage for many tourist itineraries. The room is very spacious, with impeccable cleanliness. We had at our disposal a kettle, a coffee machine, and various snacks (yogurt, biscuits, and even fresh figs in the fridge). Trilli was very kind, a unique person. She provided us with various information on where to park, what to do, what to see, where to eat, and how to get around. Anything we needed, we just had to ask her. I really hope to come back.

The availability and professionalism of the manager is impeccable. Spacious, cozy room with all the comforts, renovated with taste, competence, and attention. Enviable location. 8 for breakfast because you have to move to external structures, but it's an insignificant detail. If I return to Matera, it will be the first choice. Thank you, Mrs. Amabile.

The Ponticello in San Potito is located in a wonderful position, in the heart of Civitas behind the Cathedral, between the Sasso Barisano and the Sasso Caveoso. A great starting point for discovering the magical Matera. The room is carved inside a renovated cave house in an excellent and functional way. Clean and welcoming, it is equipped with every comfort while respecting the origins that can be felt in every corner of the room. The owners are fantastic: Mrs. Amabile and Mr. Lorenzo. Thanks to their valuable advice, we managed to discover the history, typical products, and enogastronomic culture of this magnificent city. Talking to them, you can understand how much they love their city. A special thanks to Mrs. Amabile for the daily "cuddles" she reserved for us. I hope to be able to come back soon!

The room, beautiful, clean, comfortable, and functional, is located inside a renovated cave house with all modern comforts while preserving its history and original charm. Nothing is really missing. A special thanks to Mrs. Amabile and her husband Lorenzo, wonderful hosts who have conveyed all their love for Matera by giving us very useful information and advice. Mrs. Amabile welcomed us, lovely by name and by nature. Upon arrival, she was generous with advice on things to do in Matera. In the B&B there is also a folder containing suggestions and tips on places to visit and restaurants, great idea! The B&B is in the heart of the Sassi, very clean and well cared for.

Excellent structure, located in the center of Matera, a few steps from the cathedral. New, well-kept and welcoming environment, but even more so the hospitality and attention of the managers towards the guests is truly exquisite. New and design structure, nothing is really missing, everything is taken care of in detail both in the room and in the small but functional bathroom, you can notice the touch of an architect with excellent taste. Mattress of golden dreams. Impeccable cleaning.\n\nIdeal room for 2 max 3 people (we were 2 adults + 1 child in the third bed), located in the center, carved into a revisited stone and made very welcoming and quiet, convenient for guided tours and the center's venues.\n\nThe owners are very kind and helpful both in person and via tel/wa, truly two exquisite people.\n\nI rated the breakfast just sufficient because it is not served by the owners (there is not physically space for a kitchen area) but in a nearby bar that can serve you anything to drink (juices, coffee, cappuccinos) but for the rest the choice is obligatory on the brioches, in our opinion too sweet and heavy, especially if you then have to walk the steps of the enchanting Matera. Perhaps a wider choice should be considered.\n\nDespite this, I feel like recommending it to anyone, as I am already doing while telling our stop in Matera to our friends.

We were in Matera on the Easter Monday weekend and this beautiful property made our stay even more magical in a breathtaking city. The B&B Ponticello in San Potito is right next to the Cathedral in the Civita, the location allows you to enjoy Matera from every angle. The place is a beautifully renovated stone with all the services. Mrs. Amabile assisted us before and during our stay without ever invading our privacy but ready for every call. Highly recommended.

With my family, we had long wished to visit Matera and we could not have chosen a better accommodation. Just a stone's throw from the Cathedral, in the heart of the Sasso Caveoso, the room is brand new yet characteristic, welcoming, meticulously cared for, and equipped with every comfort. B&B Ponticello in San Potito: the location is fabulous, in the heart of the Sassi of Matera, perfect for visiting the city, the historic center and all the attractions that a splendid city like Matera offers. The structure is extremely clean, comfortable, quiet and welcoming. It is located inside a "Sasso", with a room carved out in an old cave it seems. The B&B is brand new, it seems to have been open for a couple of months, and the renovation works (as the owners teach) have been done with art, to leave the original structure unchanged. Inside there is the "modern" through a good wi-fi connection, a bluetooth sound system, the LED TV with HD satellite channels. You really have all the comforts, you feel at home! Much appreciated the Nespresso coffee machine with pods available for free, and the kettle for a good herbal tea (also offered in a courtesy kit) before going to bed. Very nice the possibility to adjust the lights in the room, to create a relaxed atmosphere on occasion. Air conditioning is a godsend for the hot days we found. The bathroom, although it doesn't seem very large, actually has everything you need (including a very large walk-in shower): honestly, in some hotels it is much worse even though it is more spacious. Breakfast is offered in a bar a few hundred meters away (in the city center): honestly, I prefer it to the prepackaged foods found in other B&Bs, also because personally a good cappuccino from a bar is a godsend to start a beautiful day. A special thanks to Amabile and Lorenzo, who welcomed us like family, pointing out and explaining point by point how to make the most of our two days in Matera, including many tourist and historical information about the city (in addition to some tips to enjoy the patronal feast of July 2nd in Matera). Finally, the quality/price ratio is absolutely one of the best! We spent beautiful days, in great relaxation; we will gladly return and highly recommend everyone to stay in this wonderful structure.
