Description
Great location in the historic center. We are in the central square of the Sassi of Matera. Rooms features carved into the rock, with all the comforts: air conditioning, heating, wi-fi, private bathroom in room, private terrace and panoramic, with an exceptional views of the Sassi of Matera and the Park of the Rock-Hewn Churches. The ideal place for relaxation and privacy. An hearty breakfast and available on request for coeliacs and intolerant.

The Court of Shepherds is located below a rock on which stands the Church of Madonna de l'Idris. The rooms, each with independent entrance, are carved into the tuff rock, a typical limestone stone of our territory that characterizes the rest of the Sasso Caveoso, the oldest area of the entire Sassi district, and Sasso Barisano.

From the terrace, where we serve a rich breakfast, there is a breathtaking 360° panoramic view of Piazza San Pietro Caveoso, Sasso Caveoso, and the Gravina stream, which flows between the inhabited part and the Murgia Materana.

Near our structure, it is possible to visit the Museum of Sculpture MUSMA, Casa Noha, the Casa Grotta, some rock churches (in total more than 150 between the Murgia and the Sasso), and the Cathedral built in Puglia's Romanesque style in 1230 and recently restored and open to the public. It is also possible to cross the Gravina stream by crossing a small Tibetan bridge that is 13m high.

We stayed at this wonderful property in July for a couple of days. Fabulous stone renovation that left nothing to chance and makes the atmosphere of this B&B unique. Thanks to Mimmo, who knew how to give us the right suggestions, and Tiziana's breakfasts, the stay in Matera was unforgettable.

Very nice accommodations in a unique setting, "cave room". Outstanding location with lovely terrace to enjoy the views. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The hosts were very gracious and hospitable.

Il serait utile que le propriétaire envoie un mail type juste avant leurt arrivée au B&B avec les infos pratiques concernant l'accès à Matera en voiture car la ville historique est difficilement accessible et les parkings les plus proches se situent assez loin à pieds de la structure.

Il B&B è situato in una zona stupenda dei sassi con una vista spettacolare e comodo per muoversi nei sassi di Matera. La Signora è molto gentile e disponibile nel consigliare ristoranti, tour e organizzare visite guidate e non. Consigliatissimo.

Una location magica. Si trova esattamente di fronte alla cartolina di Matera, una vista incantevole. All'imbrunire questo posto diventa magico. Le luci nei sassi si accendono e tu rimani lì incantato ad osservare lo spettacolo della natura comodamente seduto sul tuo terrazzino Grotte/camera ben tenute, e servizio ineccepibile. Tiziana è davvero un’ottima padrona di casa. Stanno anche creando una nuova camera, una mega suite con vasca idromassaggio e sauna privata, con tanto gusto e rispetto per la natura. Se andate a Matera dovete pernottare qui, lo consigliamo perché è una vera chicca. Colazione abbondante e di qualità.

An amazing place to stay, in the Sassi, in a cave set in to the rock, underneath an ancient church, with stunning views of Matera. You can’t park nearby but if you ask beforehand Tiziana will give you good instructions for where to go. Breakfast was delicious full of sweet Italian delicacies, would have been nice though to have had some fruit. Lovely welcome from Tiziana and her family and we loved our room, couldn’t believe how beautiful it and the views were and how easy it was to walk from there around Matera. Would love to come back one day, thank you.

Per la prima volta con due amiche abbiamo visitato Matera. Città magica e sorprendente, sopratutto per la disponibilità e gentilezza dei suoi abitanti. I primi a farci conoscere il carattere dei materani sono stati Tiziana e suo marito, gestori della struttura, dove abbiamo soggiornato in una tipica casa grotta, curata nei minimi particolari e pulitissima, con panorama spettacolare sulla "gravina", coccolate con una colazione tipica ed abbondantissima. Grazie a loro abbiamo potuto avere una guida speciale per il tour e tutte le informazioni necessarie per godere appieno della città di Matera. Consiglieremo a tutti i nostri amici!

Una residenza da favola in un posto da favola. Abbiamo fatto una breve vacanza che consigliamo a tutti per quello che rappresentano i sassi. L'alloggio non è stato da meno per accoglienza, servizi ed atmosfera, non potevano aspettarci di più.

Location eccezionale-pulizia e tenuta della struttura ottima (vedi anche spazi riservati al giardino) cortesia e disponibilità della signora Tiziana e suo marito minimo. Ottima colazione servita all'aperto con vista sui sassi. L'unico rammarico è aver soggiornato solo una notte. Se dovessimo ritornare a Matera, certamente sapremmo dove andare.

Io e mia moglie vi abbiamo soggiornato stupendamente il 09/06/16, il B&B è situato nell'ottima posizione tra la chiesa di S. Pietro Caveoso e sotto il sasso della chiesa di S. Giovanni di Monterrone. Molto gentile e colta la signora Tiziana. L'ottima colazione ci è stata servita in terrazza sul tavolino preparato davanti al panorama mozzafiato di Matera Sassi. Non ci sono parole per descrivere, bisogna esserci e ammirare.

Disponibilità e ottima accoglienza. Colazione superlativa e abbondante. Il panorama è fantastico, affacciarsi sul terrazzo la sera e vedere i sassi illuminati è un'emozione molto suggestiva. La camera grotta, sebbene più piccola, è davvero incantevole e racchiude l'essenza (con tutti i comfort però) della vita nei sassi. Molto carina anche la doccia a cascata. Esperienza molto positiva, da ripetere!

È situato in uno dei posti più caratteristici e più belli della Città dei Sassi. Le camere, effettivamente incastonate nelle tipiche grotte millenarie, sono arredate con tutti i confort moderni ed arredate con gusto e sobrietà. La gestione familiare consente di apprezzare al meglio la cortesia e la rinomata ospitalità degli abitanti di Matera; Mimmo e sua moglie si sono fatti in quattro per consigliarci come godere al meglio le bellezze e le bontà locali. Abbiamo soggiornato li per capo d'anno 2016 ed i prezzi erano inevitabilmente un po' più elevati del solito, ma comunque convenienti.

Splendida struttura con una vista sul Sasso Caveoso da mozzafiato! Praticamente nel cuore di ciò che si desidera visitare di più. Ottima accoglienza e cortesia del personale. Il B&B è situato in posizione centralissima ed è un ottimo punto di partenza per visitare Matera. La camera era pulita e aveva una finestra con una vista spettacolare. La signora Tiziana gentilissima e prodiga di consigli. Ottima e abbandonate la colazione anche se avrei preferito ci fosse anche qualcosa di salato.

The couple running the B&B were really welcoming and the room was lovely with a stunning view - the one at the front is the one to ask for. Breakfast was the nicest one I've had in any hotel and we even got to eat on the terrace when weather permitted. It was a bit tricky to find but the owner said he is happy to collect visitors from the station. We didn't mind too much tho as it gave us an opportunity to explore the windy streets of Matera. Would really recommend.

Ubicazione bellissima, camera accogliente con vista panoramica. Grande pecca è la mancanza del bidet in bagno che è stato volutamente escluso pur essendo il bagno di nuovissima costruzione.
