Marittima is well connected in the summer through public bus lines from "Salento in Bus" to nearby beaches such as Otranto, Santa Cesarea Terme, Castro, Santa Maria di Leuca, and Gallipoli. It is easily accessible via State Road 16 which connects Lecce to Santa Maria di Leuca with an exit at Maglie towards Poggiardo, and by the SudEst railway which goes from Lecce to Spongano station, which is 3 km away from the B&B "Trappitu dei Settimi".
The airport is in Brindisi, just an hour's drive from Marittima. For those who want to reach the B&B by plane or train, the owners provide the possibility of transportation, both upon arrival and departure, respectively from Brindisi and Lecce.

Among the features that characterize our hospitality in the foreground there is the first that we prepare breakfast varied and plentiful but with raw materials strictly typical of the Salento cuisine and produced in the family farm. Focaccia, pizzas, friselline, seasoned with the products of ours (tomatoes, eggplant, peppers zucchini etc.. Etc...), seasonal fruits and desserts, such as pies, donuts, croissants and pasticciotti enrich our breakfasts with various drinks (juice, coffee, tea and milk.) all prepared by my wife with commitment and care in order to discover their products and flavors of Salento.

Being a former teacher retired, who has always lived in Marittima, a small village on the Adriatic coast, and as I have a house, which is linked to the history of my family, I thought I'd give it a museum-receptive function precisely in order to achieve two of my secret aspirations: to restore an important place in my memory and give hospitality in a home of my country, who wants to come in Salento. E precisely because related to my traditions and the history of my country, I live this experience with particular emotional involvement why try to revive the charm and fascination of a reality under the most different profiles, trying to respect the values ??of hospitality and welcome that have always characterized the people to which I belong.

The area is defined by the typical Salento landscape, with low houses, only elevated in some cases on the first floor, and merged into a single body by the white lime color of the walls, in perfect Mediterranean style.
All around, the countryside is divided into small parcels, delimited along the perimeter by dry stone walls, where olive cultivation prevails, boasting very old and suggestive specimens, due to the structure of the hollow and twisted trunk, which make them true natural monuments.
The area slopes gently towards the sea, a few hundred meters from the town center, whose low and jagged coast is characterized by a series of natural coves and inlets that, in the summer season, allow for comfortable bathing, being able to lie in the sun on the flat and structured cliff, like natural beds.

Structure exactly corresponds to what is seen in the photos. The location is strategic as it is not by the sea, but convenient for getting around without the nightmare of parking upon return. The place is peaceful and equipped with a magnificent ivy pergola where you can have breakfast every morning. The owners are exquisite people, Mirella is a perfect host. I highly recommend it.
