Area city center

Putignano is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in Puglia. In fact, the city is famous throughout Europe for its carnival and allegorical float parades, but it also hides naturalistic beauties capable of leaving you breathless, such as the famous Putignano caves and the San Michele caves.
The village of Putignano is full of buildings of incomparable beauty, such as the Church of San Pietro Apostolo, whose interiors were made with marble and precious woods and which preserves a beautiful eighteenth-century organ. Also worth seeing are the church of Santa Maria La Greca, the Civic Museum and the Palazzo del Balì, which once housed the order of the knights of Malta.

If, however, you prefer a visit dedicated entirely to nature and exploration, it is also a must to visit the nearby Castellana caves, which are very large and complex, a real spectacle for enthusiasts.
In the surroundings of Putignano there are also important archaeological sites, such as Locorotondo and Alberobello, the city of trulli par excellence.
Putignano is not right on the sea, but about 19 km away are the beautiful beaches of Polignano a mare and Monopoli, which you can visit while stopping in this beautiful village in Puglia.
