Description
This farmhouse, dating back to 1897 and nestled in the picturesque Itria Valley, is a true tribute to Apulian tradition. Surrounded by oak forests and lush hills, it retains its original charm, reflected in its ancient stones and the nearby village of trulli featuring 14 original cones. Every detail of this historic farmhouse and the small village tells a story of authenticity and deep roots.

The experiences offered allow guests to fully immerse themselves in local traditions: cooking classes featuring typical dishes made with farm-fresh ingredients, tending to the organic garden, horseback riding, and nature walks, as well as tastings of local gastronomic delights. The farmhouse encourages a lifestyle attuned to the rhythms of the earth, in perfect harmony between humans and nature.

Its strategic location between Bari (60 km) and Brindisi (70 km) airports makes the farmhouse easily accessible and an ideal base for exploring the wonders of Puglia. Iconic places such as Alberobello, known for its UNESCO-listed trulli, Castellana Grotte, Locorotondo, and Cisternino are just a short drive away, along with Polignano a Mare and Monopoli, which overlook crystal-clear waters.

The farmhouse's rooms embody a harmonious blend of the four elements of nature—water, air, fire, and earth—alongside human artistry, creating unique spaces that seamlessly integrate with the surrounding landscape. A stay here offers an authentic and rejuvenating experience, where history, tradition, and nature come together in perfect balance.

Materiis Trulli e Natura

Area countryside
Materiis is located in the heart of the Itria Valley, surrounded by lush hills and oak forests. Originally known as "Masseria Civitella," its name is rooted in history: next to the Masseria stood an “Iazzo” (a circular stone area, now a UNESCO heritage site), which was part of a “Specchia” (a rocky outcrop) considered one of the earliest settlements of nearby Noci. Established in 1887, the Masseria retains its original structures, expertly renovated to preserve the charm of Apulian tradition, expressed through the stone and the surrounding nature.

Today, Materiis consists of two main areas: the historic stone masseria and a picturesque village of trulli, made up of 14 original cones. A forest of ancient oaks frames this enchanting location, with their leaves swaying in the wind, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of bygone times. Its strategic position allows for quick access by car to the region's main points of interest. Among the closest destinations are Noci, renowned for its cuisine, Castellana Grotte, famous for its ancient caves, and Alberobello, known for its trulli, which are also a UNESCO heritage site, as well as Locorotondo and Cisternino, both listed among the 100 most beautiful villages in Italy. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit Polignano a Mare and Monopoli, stunning seaside towns surrounded by cliffs and miles of golden sandy beaches. Additionally, within less than an hour, you can explore the wonders of Castel del Monte and Trani with its magnificent cathedral, as well as Matera, the famous city of Sassi, and Ostuni, known as the white city.
