Description

The Masseria Dirupo is an ancient rural settlement dating back to the late 19th or early 20th century. Originally spanning over 60 hectares, it is now divided into several properties. The two main divisions consist of two farms, each covering approximately 19 hectares, managed by two different owners.

It was probably initially a small country residence of a wealthy family, run by one or more sharecroppers.

Over time, this splendid hidden reality in the Noci area, known as Murgia Albanese or Pasquarosa, has been partially fragmented. Since 2010, agricultural, environmental, and structural recovery work has been carried out on the site.

In an untouched area of the Noci countryside, a court of trulli dating back to the late 19th century has been renovated and transformed into our cozy and well-maintained farmhouse. The nighttime lighting is environmentally friendly, so as not to disturb nocturnal wildlife and reduce insect attraction. We collect rainwater for bathroom drainage. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning. The rooms are cleaned daily, and we offer a plentiful breakfast. We also have two rooms specifically designed for guests with reduced mobility.

Noci is located in a strategic point of the Itria Valley, a convenient position to be the base for the discovery of central Puglia: a stone's throw away we have Alberobello, Locorotondo, Putignano and Castellana Grotte; for nature lovers, in addition to the local routes, we are close to the ravines of Massafra, Mottola, Grottaglie, Castellaneta; for sea lovers we are exactly halfway between the Adriatic and the Ionian; the nearest large centers are Bari and Taranto with their splendid museum areas and nightlife.

The only downside is that the property is a bit out of the way. But this is also an advantage, because you are immersed in the sounds and silence of nature. The setting is stunning and so are the rooms (I slept in a perfectly renovated trullo). The owner’s courtesy is almost surprising: he made himself available with discretion and efficiency. Although you are in nature, I was also able to work, with an impeccable internet connection (mobile phone reception is a bit poor but there is WhatsApp). Breakfast was delicious, sweet and savory, with pizzas, biscuits and juices also homemade. There is more I could say, but I will conclude by saying that it is recommended and worth trying.

Very nice and clean property, good breakfast and very kind and helpful staff. The only drawback is that the property is a bit too isolated and the area is not lit at night.

Giuseppe is a very welcoming and thoughtful host. He had good recommendations for my trips and hikes. It was a perfect spot for visiting Matera, Alberobello, Monopoli, Pugliano di Mare, etc. The nearest town, Noci, is charming and has everything you need. For now there are no products for sale from the farm, but as I understand, that is the plan for the future. It was a wonderful experience to stay in a trullo.

I stayed at this Masseria Dirupo for 5 nights for work and I must say I was very satisfied: extremely clean rooms, excellent breakfast, and very kind and helpful owners. Highly recommended!
