The brand new B&B “Le Case Dei Nonni” consists of some studios, approximately 30 meters each. Its position in the historic center of the island of St. Nichola is undoubtly extraordinary. You will find it in the first " Camerone " you meet immediately when you arrive, a solid building erected in 1844 by Ferdinando II di Borbone. At 100 mt from the “Cannone” (the battresses) you will come across breathtaking viewpoints; at 50 mt there is the ancient road leading to the sea and again at 50 mt you find the new lift that connects the top of the island with the marina and the beach below and vice versa. Welcome! My name is Nicola De Martino and I'm “tremitese” of both parents and both grandparents. Studies and 35 years working in Rome. Thanks to Nicola and San Nicola for the wonderful holiday we just spent. The little apartment is small but has everything needed for a stay, even to cook at home if necessary. San Nicola is a special island that stays in your heart and Nicola spared no effort to help us fully discover it, giving us tips and very important advice on what to do and see. Not to be underestimated is his "historical memory" as a Tremiti native, which allowed us to learn many things about the island that we otherwise would not have known. We contacted him by phone and organizing the holiday was very easy and fast. We hope to return soon.

We stayed a few days in one of Nicola's cottages, a small and cozy nest where nothing is really missing: clean, equipped with all the essential things, it is the solution we were looking for. The island is a microcosm where in the rustle of the wind and the sound of the sea you can find the essential again, and Nicola is a thoughtful, present but never intrusive, cheerful and good company host who can enhance the beauties of this enchanting place to the fullest. Recommended for those who love simplicity, tranquility, nature, and beautiful relationships. We will definitely return.

Nicola has always been attentive and helpful, even when the ferry seemed to have abandoned us in S. Domino due to bad weather. The apartment is equipped with all comforts, small, since it historically had another function but well renovated and well furnished even in the loft/bedroom solution for the kids! Nicola then took us on a tour of all the islands with his boat, and I highly recommend him to understand the nature of all the rocks and structures of the Tremiti islands, as I suggest you "abandon" yourself for a few hours in the natural reserve of Caprara island, enchanting! It goes without saying that staying in S. Nicola allows you to breathe and live all the history of the island through its fortresses, the ancient abbey, and the picturesque walk that leads to the Marinelle beach.

Le Case dei Nonni are the ideal place to visit the Tremiti Islands. San Nicola is definitely the most fascinating island, full of history and beautiful places to visit in a unique environment. San Nicola is not for everyone, but if you know how to listen, the island will conquer you. "Le Case dei Nonni" is probably the best way to stay there and spend your holidays. You will be welcomed by the great Nicola and accommodated in one of the characteristic super-equipped studios: TV, ceiling fans, broom, mop, sponges, basin, and drying rack with clothespins, water hose outside to rinse your feet upon return, etc. Nicola can also help you organize your boat trips or find a rubber boat to rent. We rented one and spent a wonderful day at sea. In short, highly recommended from every point of view and we hope to return soon.

Not a vacation, but a beautiful experience, you have to let time flow slowly and be guided by nature, because where to dive is decided by her based on the wind. Nice studio apartment, well renovated and very clean, comfortable for 2 people, equipped with everything one needs for a seaside stay. Some extra maintenance work would make it perfect (lack of paint on some re-plastered parts to restore the original wall design, glass French door that does not close, wooden window and door that need a bit of treatment), even though I understand the difficulty of managing a vintage structure in a seaside climate and on a small island. Small details that are noticeable, considering the daily cost of the studio. A short reminder with instructions and suggestions for using the fan, lights, and washing machine would be useful. The manager is nice, very welcoming, and a good connoisseur of the island, sometimes with a slightly rigid attitude on things not understood by guests because they were not explained well beforehand. But he more than redeems himself with his wonderful stories about the island and its history. The island of San Nicola is magnificent, especially early in the morning and in the evening when there are no daily visitors, who come to visit the spectacular monastery, leaving only those who stay there. The outdoor space on the pedestrian street is very pleasant, where you can eat or simply relax.

All beautiful, Le Case dei Nonni are obtained from the typical Tremiti dwellings, in the historic part of San Nicola which is the most beautiful of the archipelago, but the real, great added value is him, Nicola, who with his island wisdom gave us advice on everything. Thanks to the help of Nicola, owner of the property and a deep connoisseur (as well as in love) of Tremiti, we had the opportunity to spend a beautiful week on the island of San Nicola. Between boat trips, renting a rubber boat, the sea procession of Ferragosto, and barbecues together, this island is a gem.
There were 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 children, and the apartment was ideal. Additionally, we were with another family of our friends. Nicola kindly arranged us in adjacent apartments so that we could have meals together.
A beautiful memory that we will cherish.

For the third time in 12 months, I return to the Tremiti Islands and in particular to San Nicola, a unique place in the world; and for the third time I have the pleasure of staying in this structure that, with its charm, manages to enhance even more the beauty of the place. Nicola, the owner, in love with his Tremiti, is always attentive and available to his guests. Even this time there was no lack of water and the spectacular organic wine in the fridge. We stayed at the Tremiti Islands for a week, specifically on the island of San Nicola, at the Le Case dei Nonni property. The property is located in a position that offers a fantastic view and is managed by Nicola, a true Tremitese, very useful for providing both geographical and historical information about the places. The initial contact with Nicola was by phone and exhaustive. The islands are wild and therefore magnificent, naturally not suitable for everyone as they require a predisposition for a very 'nature' vacation where you leave behind the superfluous and enjoy the essential.

Due to rough seas at the port of Termoli, all trips to the Tremiti Islands were canceled for two consecutive days, but we did not receive any refund or assistance during the stay. We would have expected a somewhat different attitude. The house is still very nice, in a great location, and complete with everything needed for a weekly stay. We didn't even find a bottle of water in the fridge, and it seemed like there was little attention to useful details. Nicola is friendly and undoubtedly very prepared even to do the island tour by rubber dinghy.

Purtroppo questa circostanza ha segnato il vostro atteggiamento nei miei confronti. La bottiglia d’acqua la lasciamo sempre nel frigo insieme a quelle del vino biologico sempre gratuitamente . Nel vostro caso vi ricordò che siete entrare ed uscire molte volte ed avete riempito il frigo con le vostre cose mentre la signora stava rifacendo il monolocale ha dimenticare di prenderla. 7 nelle pulizie non ospito animali e prendo la biancheria a noleggio alla Colim di Campobasso che viene sanificata lavata stirata ed impacchettata. Avete utilizzato la lavatrice togliendo la spina dal phon aprendo l’acqua anche se vi erano tutti i segnali di non utilizzo e vi era il cartello con scritto che non andava utilizzata ed ora difficilmente si potrà riparare. Infine non vi ho chiesto le 30€ per le pulizie che sono l’unica altra spesa fissa si può leggere su ogni sito o piattaforma. Ci provo a far stare i miei ospiti il meglio possibile per il meteo devo organizzarmi meglio. Le auguro tantissime vacanze senza disavventure.

The Tremiti Islands and, especially San Nicola, were a beautiful discovery. The 15 days spent in San Nicola were "challenging" - as expected when living an experience in such a small island - but with unparalleled charm. Nicola's apartment is extremely functional, clean, and located in one of the most convenient and beautiful spots on the island. The welcome and support provided by Nicola were excellent: he was always available, discreet, and never intrusive. Thinking of spending more vacation days in the Tremiti Islands is not for everyone; it requires a good spirit of adaptation and a strong desire to discover and appreciate the roughness of the island and its inhabitants who, once past the initial impact, manage to convey all their love for this magical place.

Every so often you come across special places that, fortunately, are not for everyone. The Tremiti, and particularly the island of San Nicola, is not the right place for those who want to spend their days on the beach under an umbrella and their evenings strolling through downtown shop windows, for those who love vacations organized from A to Z and conveniences at hand. San Nicola is a rugged and charming island that must be discovered, laboriously, by walking its streets and paths perched above the sea, letting yourself be captivated by a cheeky and unexpected beauty, the result of the union of nature and human hand. A friend booked two apartments, for us and our six teenage children, by contacting Nicola by phone. We received a few essential pieces of information and arrived at our destination quite unaware of what we would find. I don't want to spoil the surprise for those who will spend their holidays in Nicola's grandparents' houses because if you decide to come here you will live a unique experience, different from mine and that of anyone else. There are no words to describe the beauty of the Tremiti Islands and the open-air museum of San Nicola Island. The only thing to do is to go there and immerse yourself fully and savor colors and emotions, believe me you will be thrilled. Le Case dei Nonni is a family-run structure, where the owner, Mr. Nicola, is always ready to help, both for boat trips and for any mishaps that can happen on vacation, and then to listen with his heart to the stories of history and the Diomedee. Now all you have to do is go there. I recommend, being the sea wolf can sometimes seem gruff, especially if you book by phone, it's better to do it by email. Discreet structure, equipped with everything needed for cooking. Good cleanliness. Unfortunately, it is located on the Island of San Nicola, forgotten by God and men. Grocery store with staggering prices, open during our 7-night stay, only for 2 days. To buy food, we had to go to the island of San Domino (5 euro round trip boat) and walk uphill to reach the supermarket. Restaurants in San Nicola are very expensive. No beach on the Island of San Nicola except for the boat storage at the port (rather dirty). The photo of the structure on the website has been counterfeited. San Domino's beaches are small, made of sharp rocks, difficult to reach, with only one sandy beach requiring rental of umbrellas and sunbeds where people are packed like sardines. The Island of San Nicola is an open-air garbage dump, where you can breathe an air of degradation and abandonment even at the archaeological site. To enjoy the sea, you have to rent a dinghy (at least 100 euros per day). In short, I advise against staying more than 2-3 days in the Tremiti Islands, and if you want to stay overnight, don't choose the Island of San Nicola. The Tremiti Islands have a beautiful sea but can only be enjoyed by boat or dinghy. Everything the owner writes on the website (logistic support, boat trips, barbecues) is false.

Signora Toglia sono dispiaciuto che lei non si sia trovata bene alle Tremiti ma lei non si é informata sul luogo dove voleva andare a trascorrere una settimana di ferie. Spesso mi capita di leggere degli apprezzamenti per la descrizione che faccio di questo luogo e della mia struttura, ma lei purtroppo non ha letto nulla. Lei é incopatibile con questo luogo e mai doveva sceglierlo. Premesso questo mi corre l'obligo di fare alcune precisazioni: Lei definisce S. Nicola abbandonata da Dio e dagli uomini, orrore per questa affermazione S. Nicola ha avuto già nel 1016 l'inizio della costruzione della Chiesa dedicata a S. Maria a mare ad opera dei monaci benedettini, sostituiti da Cistercensi nel 1227 che l'anno ampliata e dai Lateranensi nel 1410 che l'anno fortificata ancora di più. Un luogo unico al mondo. Quattro anni fa il Ministro della cultura Franceschini ha stanziato 20 milioni di euro per il restauro. Dopo progetti e gare i lavori inizieranno a fine settembre. Il negozio di alimentari é stato effettivamente chiuso nei giorni da lei indicati, il gestore ha avuto un problema personale che per privacy non dico e non auguro a nessuno. Ci sono come in tutti i posti molti modi di mangiare e spendere lei é stata più volte nel ristorante più costoso. Ci sono varie modalità di muoversi alle Tremiti lei ha scelto il gommone (tra l'altro ad un ottimo prezzo), ma noi facciamo anche acqua taxi, con pochi euro portiamo gli ospiti in luoghi particolari ed a orario si vanno a riprendere. Nicola alla fine dell'isola ci sono due spiaggette Le Marinelle sempre di ciottoli (chi vuole sabbia o scogli lisci in ogni luogo non può venire qui, questa è un'area marina protetta con una biodiversita' unica perché la sua natura è selvaggia e tale deve restare ), dove ci batte il sole tutto il giorno. S. Nicola is lovely! This is the second time that my wife and I come back to the island, and the room that Nicola reserved for us is in an ideal location with a view of the harbor. In the evening, the little square becomes a meeting point. And Nicola is a nice character to get to know!

San Nicola is an island that remains in the eyes and in the heart for a long time. It fascinates for the beauty of the sea and its history. We are a family of 4 people, two adults and two teenage daughters. The apartment overlooks the central square with a spectacular view of the harbor and the island of San Domino, it is furnished with style, with a well-organized kitchen, and with all the necessary amenities. A special gift made by Nicola gave us the opportunity to renew the studio apartment Le Case dei Nonni on the island of San Nicola, just finished renovating. Excellent cleanliness, beautiful view, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Nicola is a very polite and helpful manager: he conveys the love for his land completely. He was very kind to my parents who had unexpected events (due to adverse weather the ferry did not depart for several days): he was very patient and attentive to their needs, trying to reassure them and showing he could solve any problem. We arrived in San Nicola and at the Le Case dei Nonni structure through this site and I called. The owner 'Nicola' seemed very confident in talking to me about his island. In San Nicola, you take a dive into the past. Rhythms, scents, flavors, silences, and colors belong to other eras. It is truly a world of its own. The apartments are perfectly renovated, clean, and well-furnished. It's a pity we only stayed for 3 days, but we will be back in September. For those who love the sea, Le Case dei Nonni is a paradise, in San Nicola time has stopped. There are no cars or confusion. You find yourself with few tourists on the island after the departure of daily visitors. The island is mostly inhabited by seasonal workers and natives who return for the summer, the atmosphere is familiar, children can be left free to move around in complete safety. We had an exceptional stay. Quiet, exotic, rejuvenating, Nicola welcomed us very warmly and showed us the treasures and wonders of his island. A last-minute vacation, my husband preferred the north and I. I took him to Tremiti! As soon as we got off the ship, he almost wanted to ask for a divorce. Maybe all these 10 may seem too many, actually when you find a little paradise that deserves them, you need to be objective. First of all, let's talk about an island. If you choose this experience, Le Case dei Nonni by Nicola are the best you can find to live an unforgettable stay. For me it was like that. The structure of the studio where I stayed enclosed the history of the small suburb but at the same time it combined the perfect restoration of cozy, clean and perfectly equipped premises. I can't even describe Nicola to you, I recommend you to meet him, one of the most beautiful things among many was when without giving me too many explanations he invited me for a dessert in a local bar. I spent a short but unforgettable holiday in Tremiti with my husband. The island of San Nicola captivated us with its charm of a place almost back in time: a dimension now rare that truly rejuvenated us after the work hardships. Mr. Nicola's hospitality was impeccable and his availability truly precious: the transfer from San Domino to San Nicola upon our arrival, the organic wine, the tour of the archipelago with the gozzo, the anecdotes of island life, and the information about Tremiti's history. I arrived at S. Nicola on Wednesday 19 and left on August 24. It was my first time at Tremiti. Nicola, the manager, came to pick us up at S. Domino, the arrival port of the hydrofoil, and our vacation began in S. Nicola! We stayed in a delightful little apartment, clean and well organized for our needs: a kitchen with all the utensils for cooking, two bathrooms for independence. Nicola was with a lovely companion, Federica, who made our vacation even more beautiful by accompanying us on the tours that Nicola had organized for us! She also offered us a tasty barbecue with other guests of the houses, very nice! I spent 5 unforgettable days doing many things, wonderful swims in crystal clear waters, good food from the restaurants, fresh fish guaranteed, ancient hospitality of the Tremitesi and Nicola who never abandoned us, making us have fun with boat excursions circumnavigating the islands! Definitely a beautiful place to spend your holidays, a slice of Paradise close to home!

We had a really good time, the location of the property is magnificent, the two-room apartment is spacious, clean and functional. Nicola is a very kind, very nice and helpful person, the house has everything: water, fruit, herbal teas and especially the delicious organic wine. With Nicola, we went on spectacular trips with his boat to the wildest points of the Tremiti Islands. What a sea! A stunning place, to be loved. After a week's stay, it feels like home, considering the tranquility, perhaps even better. Nicola's houses then have everything you need, they are very cute and functional. He is always available for any eventuality. Being a deep connoisseur of the place, and especially in love with San Nicola, is a guarantee. A memorable walk made to the monastery where, with a bit of history and some anecdotes, he made us aware of a world now far away that, however, made San Nicola. A tip, considering that all goods arrive by ship and therefore have a high starting cost, it's better to start with a good supply. As for wine, Nicola takes care of that.

All the information provided by the manager (the very kind Mr. Nicola) corresponds to the truth, from the welcome on arrival until departure. The location of the property is enchanting, the studio modern, tastefully furnished and with all the amenities (including a washing machine). Staying in San Nicola allows you to experience an island reality, away from the tourist chaos; the lack of services (for example, the grocery store) must be taken into account, but perhaps it is this total "isolation" that makes it unique. Recommended for those who want to have a unique experience even during the Ferragosto period.

What we were looking for, a holiday of absolute relaxation. A place 'out of the world', in every sense. When we arrived on the island of San Nicola, to tell the truth, we were a bit discouraged: the evening before in Termoli a local lady had listed the inconveniences and difficulties that, according to her, we would find: the historic center (where the apartments managed by Nicola are located) is on a cliff, she said the climb is uncomfortable. There is no grocery store, for shopping you will have to go to San Domino. And then in San Nicola there is nothing to do. Let's go in order: it is true, the village is perched on a cliff overlooking the harbor. The uphill walk is not the easiest, but there is a convenient elevator that doesn't cost much. Once at the top, though, the view you will enjoy will more than repay you. Also, sometimes try the uphill walk barefoot, leave your clogs or slippers at home. Try it, you won't believe it, but it's a whole different experience. Shopping: call the store in San Domino, read them the list and the shopping will arrive in the harbor with the 10 o'clock boat. More convenient than that. Between visiting the abbey/fortress, the radio museum, the walk to the cemetery, the church, just strolling through the avenues of the historic center, saying that there is nothing to do in San Nicola is not entirely true. But anyway, are we sure that not having anything to do once in a while is really that bad? The apartments: not very large, but definitely sufficient and well-equipped: new furniture and appliances. There were three of us and we were very comfortable. In the evening, eating outside in front of the house, on the main street, is fabulous. Breakfast in the morning with people passing by and greeting you. As the advertisement says, it's priceless. The manager: in the house we found everything: spaghetti, sugar, salt, milk, a bottle of wine, water, breakfast biscuits. Where do you find someone like him who tells you: 'oh no, when you run out of wine you don't have to go buy it, you have to tell me and I'll bring it to you, it's organic' and then he didn't even want us to pay for a bottle. Someone who, as soon as you arrive, you tell him that the fridge is not working and after half an hour, no more, someone knocks on your door: 'Nicola sent me' and he fixes the fridge for you. Finally, a gem: on July 14th, my wife and I celebrated our thirtieth wedding anniversary. Nicola came to know about it and what does he do? At four in the afternoon we were on a beach and he arrives with a dinghy, jumps ashore and pulls out a bottle of Muller Thurgau, glasses, and we toast with him and some friends who were on the beach with us, it was touching! In short, go there.

Then, what can I say about the owner Nicola, a truly exceptional person, available for every need, treats the customer like a friend, assists him on every occasion making him feel at home. We will definitely come back next year, we are a couple who has traveled a lot in the world but frankly we have never found such an exclusive and unique place where you can have a vacation in the utmost relaxation. Sweet and magical was the stay at Le Case dei Nonni, well organized, where one can cook and enjoy the spacious square.
