Description

Casina Montana is an old country house, built around the year 1886 in typical fashion with dry stone walls. Originaly born as a residence and later used as stables and agricultural storage, the building was renovated in recent years by reusing present materials in harmony with the environment and was transformed into a charming and welcoming bed and breakfast. Surrounded by fruit and olive trees, located in a protected natural oasis inside the heart of Salent, it enables its guests to reach fast and easy the Ionian and the Adriatic coast as well as the inland of the region, thanks to the favorable geographical position.

The breakfast buffet includes various homemade sweets and biscuits, jams made with fruits from our garden (plums, oranges, figs, strawberries, peaches, etc.), fresh seasonal fruits, ricotta and yogurt from the nearby Masseria Padulano, bread, puccette, local focaccia, friselle, fresh squeezed orange juice, our own honey, dried figs, omelettes and boiled eggs.

The buffet breakfast will be served under the porch of the main house, of course, on beautiful days, while during the winter it will be consumed in the family living room.

The B&B Casina Montana is located in Corigliano d'Otranto, in the open countryside, and boasts a central position in Salento.

In fact, it is only 2 km away from Maglie, 18 km from Otranto, 20 km from Castro Marina, 33 km from Gallipoli, and 25 km from Lecce. For this reason, it is the ideal starting point for visiting the Ionian and Adriatic coasts and the hinterland.

The B&B is located in the countryside, right in the heart of Grecìa Salentina, precisely in Corigliano d'Otranto but only 2 km away from Maglie, an important commercial center, and Melpignano, a village known for the "La Notte della Taranta" concert.

Located next to an ancient forest, it allows for outdoor walks both on foot and by bike.

My husband and I stayed for almost 10 days in this earthly paradise. Such tranquility, which after a year of work we really needed. Lina, Leo and Chiara made us feel like family, not like casual guests. We were pampered throughout our stay and if it weren't for the many kilometers between home and the heart of Salento, we would have already booked for next summer. The intention to return remains. We recommend trying this paradise even just for a weekend, for those who can get there more easily than we can. And for those who are far away, if they don't like to drive, there are always planes.

Casina Montana B&B - a truly 5 star experience in the most beautiful setting.\n\nGreeted on arrival by Lina and her daughter Chiara. From the minute we arrived, to the minute we left, nothing was too much trouble, we had all the privacy we wanted whilst they were always on hand for any help or recommendations in the local area. Their hospitality really was quite exceptional.\n\nThe accommodation and grounds are stunning. The gardens, pool area, dining area and rooms are immaculate. This creates a beautiful environment that added to the peace and tranquility of our stay.\n\nThe breakfast is delicious, there was excellent variety throughout our stay, every morning there were different fruits, cakes, savouries, juices, teas and coffees, you certainly won't leave hungry. Linas husband, Leo is the chef and he is extremely talented. There is the option to book evening meals on certain nights throughout the week and take cooking lessons, be sure to enquire when making your booking.\n\nWe are a family of 5, Mum, Dad, Daughter 16, Son 15, Daughter 10. We stayed for 4 nights across 2 rooms and we all loved it. The children specifically enjoyed their time in the pool which was a great size.\n\nWe visited the main towns of southern Puglia. Lecce - 25mins, Porto Cesareo - 40mins, Gallipoli - 40mins, Otranto- 25mins and Santa Maria De Leuca - 55mins. It was the perfect location for travelling this area.\n\nThank you for such a wonderful stay. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.

We stayed at Casina Montana for 4 days and felt completely at ease. The hosts are wonderful, very warm and take care of their guests as if they were family. The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired. Freshly baked goods every day, savory, sweet, always different and made with love. The photos do not do justice to 'Casina Montana', Lina and her family are fantastic people who spoiled us throughout the vacation. One of the strengths of this structure is, among others, the strategic position that allows easy access to both the Ionian and Adriatic coasts. I hope to return soon.

Casina Montana is an exceptional place, magnified by the kindness and warmth of the welcome from its owners, Lina & Léo. Léo, being a renowned chef, prepares savory and sweet pies every day with fresh and organic products, local specialties offered in magnificent buffets at breakfast. The place is an ancient "Masseria" that has been tastefully restored down to the smallest details. The place exudes an incredible peace and is exceptionally well located in the center of the southern area of Puglia, allowing you to explore both along the coast and towards unmissable places such as Ostuni, Otranto, Torre del Orso (one of the 10 most beautiful natural pools in the world), the caves of Castellana or Alberobello. Highly recommended.

Very good stay. We particularly appreciated the kindness and availability of our hosts. The breakfasts are exceptional with local products and homemade recipes. The place, although isolated, is only 10 minutes from Maglie and we enjoy a superb garden.

Excellent B&B, clean and comfortable with wonderful friendly hosts who were willing to help us in any way they could. Breakfast consisted of homemade cakes (Leo is a chef), ham and local cheese, figs, their honey collected from the bees in the morning. You need a car to get around but it's a lovely quiet and peaceful farm to stay at. I stayed here with a friend and we both highly recommend it.

Hospitality and professionalism are the strengths of this structure immersed in the heart of Salento, a strategic point to reach all the wonderful beauties of these places. Simply superb breakfasts made of homemade sweets, fresh fruit collected directly from the numerous trees that populate their very green garden, yogurt, honey from their hives, self-produced jams, etc, etc. Very welcoming rooms, equipped with all comforts and tastefully furnished down to the smallest details according to the Salento architecture. A special mention should be made to the cleanliness of the rooms carried out every morning. I stayed for a weekend in this beautiful property which, unfortunately, the photos on this site do not give the idea of the greenery, the variety of plants and flowers present, all very well-kept. The interior rooms are spacious and welcoming, breakfasts are another strong point with a wide presence of goodness (jams, honey, various tarts) produced and made by the owners. The property is located in a fairly central point of Salento, ideal as all places of interest are within half an hour's drive, all adding to the priceless courtesy and availability of the owners. Highly recommended.
