The Bed and Breakfast "Balcone su Otranto" is located on the first floor of an old building constructed in the early 20th century and recently renovated.
It consists of three fully independent rooms equipped with adequate comforts that ensure a pleasant and comfortable stay.
From the windows and the balcony facing the main street, guests can enjoy views of the Otranto bay and the ancient city walls, including the striking "Porta Terra," which leads into the old town.
Thanks to its prime location, the Bed and Breakfast "Balcone su Otranto" is the perfect place to experience a unique vacation, where one can immerse themselves in the historical allure of the old ramparts of the fortified city and the relaxing charm of the sea that caresses the nearby beach.
The three rooms of the B&B, named "Sole," "Mare," and "Vento," have been recently restored and feature: a bathroom, air conditioning, independent access, and a decor that is both simple and elegant yet functional.
In addition to the double bed, there is a sitting area and a wall equipped with the necessary comforts for a cozy and relaxing stay. The "Sole" room also includes a kitchenette. The interior walls showcase original two-tone colors that are not only soft and soothing but are also closely connected to certain geo-climatic elements, harmoniously integrating them into the context of the Salento region.

I am a former teacher of literature who, after retiring from my educational career, decided to transform my inherited family home into a hospitality establishment. This choice was driven both by the house's prime location (facing the sea in the center of Otranto) and my desire to engage with people from diverse backgrounds. Very good welcome, perfect situation, sufficient space for 2 people. Very good bedding, daily cleaning. Electric chair to climb the stairs to help elderly people. Fridge, air conditioning. No noise when the window is closed. Average breakfast and prices are increased by 30 to 50 cents per unit if consumed on site.

We stayed at Balcone su Otranto the week of August. We really enjoyed it because the Bed & Breakfast is in an enviable position, close to everything. The manager was very kind. The only thing that could be improved is to equip the rooms with windows that limit the noise coming from the street. However, I recommend this Bed & Breakfast.

Apartment in the heart of Otranto, great location. Too many stairs to access the room, small terrace and poorly ventilated rooms, breakfast at the bar where you can take what you want. Price-quality ratio a bit too high.

A quanto recensito dalla Signora Lotto posso rispondere che gli scalini per accedere al piano primo in cui si trova la struttura "balcone su Otranto" sono 20 circa, con alzata di 16 cm e che vi è il servizio montascale, per chi abbia difficoltà a salire. La camera matrimoniale, in cui ha soggiornato la Signora, di metri quadrati 18 circa, dispone di condizionamento, di una finestra alta mt 1,60 e larga 0,50 cm, di un lucernario di mt 1,10 x 0,50 , con finestra apribile elettricamente, posto alla sommità della camera, che ha il tetto ad un altezza di mt 4,20 dal pavimento. È annesso alla camera matrimoniale un vano cottura attrezzato, con angolo breakfast di metri quadri 6 circa ed un bagno di metri quadri 3,5. Dal vano cottura si accede su di un terrazzino arredato con sedile in pietra, tavolo e sedie per il relax e anche la consumazione di pasti all'esterno, con vista sui bastioni della città antica, di metri quadri 10 circa. We stayed at this property for eight days in the first days of June of this year (2016) and precisely in the room called Sole, the one with the kitchenette! Well, what to say: I found it fantastic. The room was very spacious as well as the bathroom, but what I didn't expect was that the kitchenette occupied a separate space in the bedroom and was also well equipped. Then there was an internal terrace with a table, so you could also possibly eat outside. In the morning, you woke up to the chirping of birds because, even though it is in the center of Otranto, this room is at the back so there is no sea view but a lot of peace! It was a fabulous holiday for me! Oh, I forgot... super clean every day.

Stunning location, from the Balcone su Otranto we could enjoy the New Year's Eve show and the fireworks. Very helpful, friendly, and caring owner: knowing I had a fever, he contacted me the next day to inquire about my health. The room renovated with taste, comfortable and spacious. Highly recommended.

You arrive at the B&B (very central), reach the room (bright, welcoming, and clean), and open the balcony. At that point, you cannot help but smile: in front of you is the bay of Otranto, the beautiful sea of Salento in front of you, and to your right the fortress, all to be enjoyed calmly from the little balcony. It is a pedestrian area (but you can park your car very close and for free for the entire stay), the room is welcoming, cleaning is done every day, and the bathroom is small but very welcoming (large shower!). Breakfast is taken at the bar below the house and it is excellent. Mr. Nuzzo is a perfect representative of the legendary Salento hospitality and this adds that touch of warmth that is always appreciated. A small flaw cannot be overlooked: being so central, under the window of the B&B, especially on holidays, there are conversations until late at night (and at dawn the waste collection!). The solution I suggest for those who are light sleepers and want to go to bed early is to close the balcony and use the air conditioning that the room has (or the old legendary earplugs). However, I assure you that it is a small price to pay to be in the heart of Otranto, surrounded by the beauty of the sea!

The location of the structure is excellent, close to the old town and the small gardens along the seafront. The Sole room for three people is spacious and clean, with a kitchenette and a bathroom that is not large but comfortable. The parking reserved for us by the manager is conveniently located not far from the structure. The breakfast at the bar below is not very rich. The location of the laundry and the access stairs are a bit inconvenient.

We had a truly pleasant stay. The manager, discreet and polite, was very kind and met all our needs, anticipating some of them. The room was absolutely comfortable and well heated, with well-crafted and quality furnishings. Thanks to the terrace we were able to enjoy the New Year's fireworks show. In short, everything was really perfect. We will definitely return.
