Amazing place, amazing host, close to the city centre. Great value for money, nice breakfast, and the host was always available and provided snacks.

Great service and cleanliness at this basic but comfortable traditional B&B. A 15-minute walk to San Marco, it is located in the quiet Castello area. Nicola was extremely quick to reply to messages during our stay and provided very clear instructions for access. Highly recommended.

Breakfast did not include fresh bread, cereals, or yoghurt. It did offer cheese, different kinds of meat, butter, and marmalade. The coffee machine worked well. Juices were also available. A recommendation for the host: please add some fresh bread to the breakfast. The rooms were spacious and clean. The shower was good. The room was cleaned every day. The host was very available and responsive in case of any issue. His recommendations were spot on. Great places!

No staff were available; the host was reachable only by message. The decor was tired and the room was very small and dark. It was difficult to get into the shower because of the position of the sink; the en-suite was small. Breakfast was pre-wrapped and there were no plain croissants, only apricot- or cream-filled ones. The bed was squeaky and uncomfortable and the pillows were lumpy. We left our luggage there on the last day, but when we returned there was no toilet available and no one to ask.

This hotel is located in a peaceful neighborhood, away from the busy crowds, which made it feel like a relaxing retreat. The charming sound of church bells added to the authentic Venetian atmosphere, and closing the shutters ensured a restful sleep. We stayed in a spacious two-bedroom suite with very comfortable beds, and although the bathroom was on the smaller side, it was manageable. Breakfast offered plenty of baked goods, and adding some yogurt or fresh fruit would make it even better. Despite the hot weather, the rooms stayed relatively cool, and a small fan would be a nice extra touch. Overall, we loved the historic charm and unique Venetian character of this hotel and would happily stay again.

I recommend it.

A quiet oasis, within walking distance of all Venice attractions. It was so great to come home at night after a busy day to a quiet residential area. Clean, quiet and comfortable, and Nicola was so helpful with advice about bars and restaurants in the local area.

Lovely little B&B with a fair price. I liked the short distance to the Vaporetto stops; shops were just a short walk away and the surrounding area was quiet. The breakfast offered was down-to-earth, always fresh and enough to have a good start to the day. The room and bathroom were functional (my room was a bit dark as there was only one large window and one small one), everything was clean, with a bit of wear and tear here and there as it is an older building. All in all, I enjoyed my stay and had a wonderful time exploring Venice.

The room was lovely, and the location was great. The host was very helpful via text and let us store luggage for the day. My only complaint is that the bed was not comfortable: it was hard and saggy, with two single beds pushed together.

A lovely stay in Venice. Quiet and out of the way, but still close enough to the city centre that I had no issues getting where I wanted to go. The host was lovely and communicated clearly regarding check in, etc. I would certainly return.

First the positive side is that the room was clean and size was good for two people with luggage. The bathroom was fine for us but quite small and would not work for anyone overweight. The room was on the first floor up a steep staircase, so beware if you have large or heavy luggage. The location of this B&B is challenging to find after getting off the vaporetto at Arsenale; it takes about 15 minutes through narrow alleyways and over several bridges to arrive (typical for Venice). Again, this can be difficult depending on your luggage. Once you get used to the location, it can be very enjoyable strolling along the alleyways and finding interesting restaurants. The host was absent due to a family situation but was very helpful with advice and answering questions and her staff were there every day to clean and restock the pre-packaged breakfast food. The worst thing about this B&B was the breakfast. It was the worst of the 7 places I stayed at in Italy recently. The food was all highly processed and sealed in packets. Soft plasticky croissants do not work for me. If you can't make the effort to provide a decent breakfast, or have an arrangement with a nearby cafe, then please don't advertise yourself as a B&B.

Unproblematisch.

The hotel is located in a residential area close to tourist areas, which makes it a very appreciated strong point. However, we were disappointed by the room which, besides being quite small, is very dark and the bathroom is outdated: the showerhead is filled with limescale, the shower is in pretty bad condition, and the electric towel warmer has rust spots everywhere. As a result, we didn't know where to put our towels. The breakfast consists only of vacuum-packed industrial products and several fruit juices are offered, but with uninviting colors. No orange juice was offered. We will still remember the location that allowed us to easily visit Venice. The owner was not present during our stay but provided us with the necessary information for our stay and good addresses to discover.

Only to be found with Google Maps. Room beautiful and relatively large, quiet location near the Gardens. Breakfast: only packaged supermarket items - cheese, cold cuts, sweet rolls, toast.

Lovely room in a well placed house. Room and en-suite was quiet and convenient. Always a challenge in places like this to find stuff for hanging clothes and towels, especially after the heavy rain fall, and how much we tried we did not manage to keep mosquitoes out (and they are vicious!). The only comment I would make is that it would have been nice to get clean/dry towels after a few days especially after the rainy days as they were not really drying. We did not use the breakfast provided, as we like the fresh coffee and food at a counter in the many cafés around. The area is great and does not feel as crowded and full of tourists and close to the Biennale. We got great recommendations from the host for restaurants and places to go.

Air conditioning broken. Mattress sunk and the bed made a lot of noise when you moved. Very small bathroom and the shower needs a replacement.

Very convenient location to reach the Biennale, Piazza San Marco, the major islands and the Lido of Venice. Simple but nice room, cleaned daily. Sufficiently varied and abundant breakfast. The manager is very helpful for any need. He provided us with clear and precise directions to reach the property and to move around the area. Moreover, he indicated a couple of excellent restaurants where we could eat excellent dishes based on fresh fish.

Great place to explore Venice, if you want to get to know the city and don't require a hotel. The triple room consists of two connected rooms, plenty of space, nicely and stylishly furnished. The location is the real Venice, with three different vaporetto stops within 6-10 minutes. St. Mark's Square is a maximum of 10 minutes away. WiFi is very efficient. The owner was not present, but responded online very quickly to questions, provided advice, very kind communication. The breakfast concept is very positive, based on cooperation and honesty, it works perfectly. Additionally, the possibility to have coffee or tea throughout the day. The value for money couldn't be better. Thank you and greetings!

The host was very helpful and kind. The B&B is a bit far away but in a nice quiet area, which we appreciated. We did have some misquotes, which was annoying but we were able to get the AC to work so we could close the windows. The breakfast was nice and convenient.

I couldn't believe the price of this property initially, but I booked it expecting some disappointment in some areas, but this was an absolute gem. Quiet, 10-minute walk to the center of everything, I didn't have breakfast most days as I wanted to experience my morning coffee and croissant at a corner cafe next to the Arsenal entrance which is just a couple of minutes away. Host was absent, but couldn't have been more helpful via WhatsApp messaging. Room was basic but clean and serviced daily. Perfect for price point. I was a female traveling alone and once I got used to the quiet narrow streets, I was confident I could move around safely, you mostly are bumping into tourists who have lost their way. Would definitely return. Great Wi-Fi signal too.

For the price - perfect. Nicola is a helpful and informative host. The bed was relatively comfy, the rooms are spacious, not the cleanest - but not the dirtiest. Breakfast was OK, could have done with some fruit + veg perhaps but loved the selection regardless.

Nicola was a very good host and the Oceano Mare B&B was incredible. Very clean, in a great location and comfortable!

We had a great time at this property! It is located in a very quiet but strategic area: on foot or by vaporetto we explored Venice far and wide. A superb Bed and Breakfast! Very quiet, close to the center of Venice, to book without hesitation.

Cheap, necessary comfort but deserves an effort on the humidity, crumbling walls.

It's very nice and very comfortable Oceano Mare B&B located a decent walk away from the main crowds surrounding San Marco Square, making it quiet and low-key. Even though it is a bit of a walk, it is close to San Marco Square and two vaporetto stops, making it easy to get around. Nicola, the owner, was great and gave us useful tips and recommendations. I would definitely come back here again. Thank you Nicola and the team.

The three of us had an excellent stay in Venice in October 2023. The property was in a convenient location near the Grand Canal, which made it easy to reach from Marco Polo airport or Santa Lucia train station. The area was quiet and peaceful, which made a nice change as other parts of Venice can be really busy with tourists. Inside, the property was tidy, clean and comfortable. Our triple suite had pleasant views over the local area and both the bedrooms were a good size. Nicola was helpful and gave us some excellent recommendations for local restaurants - the best food I have had in Venice. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would thoroughly recommend to others.

Great host, was very helpful to me even though, because of unavoidable circumstances, was not available in person. The staff on hand were very nice, in any case. Everything inside was very clean and the area and building quite charming and authentic. The location is very convenient (near Arsenale) for seeing the sights, so time and money saved that way.

I highly recommend this property as it has a very strategic location to visit Venice, in a very quiet area but still 10 minutes walk from the center, owner very helpful and kind. Very adequate quality price. The structure is a bit dated but still very clean and well organized.

Great, intimate hotel with breakfast available all day. Clean rooms, with private bathroom. Quiet, calm. Very comfortable beds. Off the beaten track, but very close to the center. I recommend it to everyone. If I'm ever in Venice again, I will definitely go back there.

I am really happy I stayed there, Nicola was wonderful and very accommodating. The rooms are spacious and the Oceano Mare B&B is priced fairly in my opinion. Our rooms were cleaned almost every day and we really enjoyed our stay. The BnB is close to the Biennale and in a less touristy area so it felt like home, and I'll definitely stay there again every time I visit Venice. Thank you Nicola.

Our host (Nicola) could not be present, but his management/communications (via WhatsApp in our case) were second to none! His local tips were fantastic. \n\nWe liked that the location is away from the hustle & bustle. The cold, self-serve, unscheduled breakfast also suited us very well. The automated coffee machine worked very well. \n\nWe met a fellow countryman that was now at his 4th stay. That in itself says something!

Very welcoming and personalized structure by the owner: at the entrance there is a battery and a collection of frogs that bring a lot of joy and color. The owner Nicola is an extremely kind and helpful person. The room where we stayed was small but functional. The location of the structure is excellent: in a few minutes you reach Piazza San Marco. The only flaw found was the sink that leaked a little water from below and the faucet not perfectly functional. Recommended for those who do not have high demands, want to spend little (considering the prices in Venice) and want to be a few steps from the center and fully enjoy the city.

The Oceano Mare B&B is actually a hidden gem with only 4 rooms, a small family-run hotel. The landlord is always on hand with many useful tips. I can only recommend it.

This was my second time staying at Océano Mare and I look forward to the next time. Nicola is warm, flexible, has a good life story, and helpful in orienting to Venice, plus he's a great musician. This location is quiet and feels more local than much of Venice, it's especially perfect for the Biennale. Rooms are quiet and restful and I was very happy there for this stay.

Quiet yet central in the Sestiere Castello. Nicola is there, if needed, otherwise he leaves you in peace and I felt truly at home. The room was very spacious and well-kept and I was quickly at the two Vaporetto stops Arsenale and Celestia. I really enjoyed my stay in Venice and will choose this B&B again next time.

Great structure, strategic location. Abundant and varied breakfast.

On the occasion of the visit to the 2016 Architecture Biennale, I chose Oceano Mare B&B for its proximity to the exhibition venues, finding it on the internet, on the map, because I already knew the city. It is a beautiful structure, in a location conveniently served by the vaporetto lines, in a very quiet but easily accessible and fully safe site, excellently illuminated at night. The B&B is also close to Piazza S. Marco, easily reachable on foot. Mine was a standard room, small but cozy, with a fully equipped private bathroom and a window facing an internal courtyard. I greatly appreciated the double door between the entrance and the room, forming a small hallway with the bathroom door (which allows for greater privacy). The owners' welcome is excellent and discreet, available to help and meet all needs and provide all the directions to move around the city. For breakfast, in addition to the coffee machines, cappuccinos, chocolates, etc., there is a toaster, a fridge with cold cuts, fruit juices, and yogurt, baskets with various jams and fresh fruit. Also, various fresh and very good cakes are always available to guests. Noteworthy is the fact that the owner, Nicola, welcomes guests at the vaporetto stop and accompanies them, pointing out the main reference points along the route so that everyone can then orient themselves independently (which is certainly not to be underestimated in Venice!).

We loved staying here. The host is very friendly - meets you from the vaporetto so you don't get lost, and when you get there he gave us a drink, food, a map and some great recommendations for things to do, things to see, and places to eat! The room was very clean and air conditioned, with its own fridge and wifi. The placement is great, I think. It's on a very quiet, small road in a not-touristy part of the city, but within 10 minutes walk, you're nearly at St Mark's and everything you could want. We came home every evening and had a hot chocolate and some toast - it's a lovely homely place and I would certainly come back!

Charming little house, in a neighborhood inhabited by Venetians, very well located, while being away from the hustle and bustle and tourists. Friendly owner, not intrusive at all, with very good restaurant recommendations. Simple breakfast, Italian bread (which has nothing to do with French bread unfortunately!), industrial pastries, yogurt and some fruits. Would go back without hesitation.

Nicola came to pick us up at the Arsenale pier upon our arrival to accompany us to his B&B and served us a little snack. Then, he carried the suitcases to our room. Nicola is very attentive to his customers, he showed us and marked on a map the interesting places to discover in Venice. He speaks Italian-English which is very charming! He is always smiling and pleasant, always ready to help us. And on top of that, he is available 24 hours a day, it is exceptional. We had a great week in this house filled with a beautiful energy of love. We thank Nicola for all his kindness, he is a warm man.

I cannot think of a better place to stay for a holiday in Venice. The B&B is in a very quiet area and in an excellent position to visit the Biennale and the city center. The breakfast is abundant and with the possibility of having hot and cold drinks throughout the day. The entire property is spotless and equipped with air conditioning. We will definitely return, and I highly recommend it.
