Description
Your relaxation amidst history, art, nature, water, and peace. A mid-1800s house, completed in renovation in June 2026 by myself, elegantly cared for in every little detail, trying to preserve all the architecture and history of the time. We overlook the Brenta River, and next to the most beautiful Venetian patrician villas, we watch the Burchiello and boats pass by. The house is 50 sqm spread over two floors, with a charming private front courtyard of 20 sqm where you can enjoy the sunset.

My name is Luigi, I am 59 years old, and I live right next to the Refuge. I was born in Mestre to Venetian parents who, since I was a child, instilled in me a love for Venice, its history, and its lagoon, along with a passion for nature and sports.
Over time, I developed a deep affection for Mira and the Brenta Canal, eventually deciding to move here, to the area that fascinates me the most, close to the beautiful historic villas that tell the story of this region.
Outdoor activities and sports have always played a significant role in my life. I practice kayaking right near my home and in the Venetian lagoon, and I still play soccer with the Venice Lions, a group of friends with whom I have competed in tournaments around the world, winning some of them. Lately, I have also been dedicating myself to Venetian rowing, a demanding but deeply captivating discipline closely tied to local tradition.
I also have a great love for the mountains, in every season. I have climbed peaks such as Gran Paradiso, Marmolada, Antelao, and Pelmo. After years spent skiing and participating in some amateur races, for the past six years I have volunteered as a ski patroller, having completed a particularly challenging training and selection process. Ski mountaineering and snowshoeing have also allowed me to discover less frequented places and extraordinary landscapes. In the past, I have also taken part in amateur mountain bike competitions.
However, one of my greatest passions remains Venice itself, with its history and its lagoon scattered with over forty islands, each with its own stories, curiosities, and heritage waiting to be explored. I enjoy exploring them by kayak, watching cormorants, little egrets, pink flamingos, and sacred ibises, immersed in a stunning natural environment.
And every time I return to Venice, I continue to experience the joy of getting lost among the narrow streets and small squares, recalling anecdotes and events from the past, entering churches to see paintings and frescoes again, or visiting, yet again, the Doge’s Palace and the Scuola Grande di San Rocco to admire Tintoretto’s magnificent cycle of paintings.

I had a really great stay at Rifugio del Brenta! The apartment is new, recently renovated, and you can see it has been cared for in the details. I also liked it because it is not the usual impersonal apartment: it has character and personality. Everything was very clean and tidy and the location is really great for enjoying the area. The host was extremely helpful and kind, and made the stay even more special. He also took us for a kayak trip on the Brenta, a truly exciting experience that doesn't happen every day! I had a wonderful time and I will definitely return. Recommended!
