Descripción

The house, which has recently been renovated, is located in Longarone, a town made famous by the tragic event of Vajont, which occurred on October 9th, 1963.

The B&B is situated on the ground floor of the house, where an independent entrance allows guests maximum autonomy and discretion.

The rooms, furnished in "Belluno style", each have private facilities.

The B&B area has free Wi-Fi.

The service offered is bed and breakfast.

Breakfast is prepared and served daily by the owners in the cozy dining room. During the summer months, breakfast can be enjoyed outdoors upon request.

The adjacent garden allows guests to relax and perhaps enjoy a good "goto de vin"!
A barbecue is available for guests who love to grill.

A convenient, spacious, and quiet public car park is located next to the house.

Guests can park in the covered parking area, and there is also a closed shelter for motorcycles and bicycles.

Upon request, guided excursions can be organized to the Vajont Dam, the sites of the tragedy and the memorial.

Silverio, the owner (and CAI guide), will be happy to accompany you inside the Belluno Dolomites National Park or along the fascinating Dolomite trails of the high path No. 3.

Casa Gilda has been awarded "4 Campanule" recognition in the "Quality Charter" of the Belluno Dolomites National Park, as well as "3 Lions, with the Quality Brand of Belluno B&Bs" recognition from the Region.

B&B Casa Gilda is located in Longarone, which is 90 km away from Venice and its airport, 70 km from Treviso and its airport, 35 km from Vittorio Veneto, 18 km from the city of Belluno, 5 km from the last highway exit (A27 Venice-Belluno highway) towards Cadore-Dolomites, 45 km from Cortina d'Ampezzo, 18 km from Forno di Zoldo and the Civetta ski area, 18 km from Pieva di Cadore (birthplace of the artist Painter Tiziano Vecellio), 12 km from Perarolo di Cadore; 5 km from the Vajont dam and the town of Erto, the birthplace and residence of Mauro Corona (sculptor, climber, writer), and 1 minute from the Longarone fair palace (MIG international ice cream show).

As a crossroads of valleys such as the Piave Valley, Val Zoldana, and Val Cellina-Vajont, Longarone allows motorcyclists who use it as a base to travel through the most beautiful Dolomite passes via loop itineraries, including Staulanza, Giau, Falzarego, Valparola, Fedaia, Campolongo, Pordoi, Valgardena, Cibiana, Duran, M. te Croce Comelico, and S. Antonio.

In Longarone and its immediate surroundings, there are rock climbing gyms, indoor climbing centers, a challenging via ferrata dedicated to Vajont in the homonymous valley, and a sports hall with a swimming pool located in the Malcolm area below the town, near the fair center. The fair center is famous mainly for the ice cream fair called "MIG" (international ice cream show), but it also stands out for a lively trade fair activity dedicated to mountain furniture, construction evolutions, reptiles, feline exhibitions, agriculture, art, mountain flavors, automobiles, and more. There is also one museum dedicated to the local red and gray stone called "di Castellavazzo" and one museum dedicated to the rafters who used to transport wood, stone, and goods to Venice along the Piave River from this area.

Longarone is also a passage point for the cycle path called "Lunga Via delle Dolomiti" (a cycle path that connects Munich to Venice). The Piave River, Boite River, and Maè Torrent are areas of interest for sports fishing. Longarone is the northern gateway to the Belluno Dolomites National Park and the endpoint of the high route No. 3 of the Dolomites (Villabassa-Longarone).

We stayed only last Friday night with little time available, but if we could we would have stayed longer. Beautiful property surrounded by greenery, furnished with passion and attention to every detail. The facilities are efficient and new, in a perfect mountain style, comfortable and complete for a pleasant relaxation. Breakfast was abundant and varied, both savory and sweet, with homemade products and a wide selection for every taste. The hosts were friendly and welcoming for every need and made us feel like family. Fair value for money. We were very satisfied. We will stay again and highly recommend it. Good morning, the property is in the best location for motorcycle trips in South Tyrol, the Cadore and Friuli Venezia Giulia. We were hosted a couple of times by Mr. Silverio and his wife and we never found anything that was not perfect. Highly recommended. The best accommodation ever for every need. Casa Gilda is a very secluded B&B, but very close to the center of Longarone. The accommodation is new, very well cared for down to the smallest details and very bright; perhaps a coat rack is missing. The breakfast area is very nice: the essentials for breakfast are provided and the offerings are quite abundant.

A truly charming bed and breakfast in Longarone! From arrival we were personally greeted by the incredibly warm host– you immediately feel welcome. Our room was newly furnished, beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. You can tell that a lot of love went into the details. The absolute highlight was the breakfast: huge, varied and simply brilliant– there really wasn't a single wish left unfulfilled. One of the best BnBs I’ve ever been to. It looks brand new because it is so well kept, but the owner told me they’ve been in business for 20 years. The owners were amazing hosts and very kind people. The accommodation is modern and beautifully furnished. It is located just a few minutes from the center, but quite close to a busy road. The breakfast was excellent and very plentiful. Casa Gilda was the perfect accommodation for us on our cycling tour. We were warmly welcomed and cared for. Extremely friendly and helpful hosts. Very nice facility. The room I was assigned was newly renovated/built, still to be completed but perfectly functional. During those days the weather was very hot so an air conditioner would have helped. The structure is 10 minutes from the Vajont dam. Very hospitable staff. Personally, I didn't find anything wrong, I recommend it without a doubt.

Good B&B, with a nice breakfast and a town center nearby with some restaurants and shops. The closeness of the road makes the property easily accessible, but the traffic noise can be heard all the time. The wifi signal in this specific room was weak, fortunately we didn't need it much.

We spent only one night and everything was perfect. The hosts were uniquely kind, sunny, welcoming, and truly very helpful, making you leave with a smile. The place is very nice, the room is clean, quiet, and welcoming, as well as the en-suite bathroom, equipped with towels and soaps. Rich and varied breakfast, we asked for a savoury alternative for breakfast (initially not available in the small buffet offered) and there was no problem! The breakfast area, completely new, has a bright window overlooking a very nice small Zen garden and an impressive mountain view. Very close to the center of Longarone: if you are in the area, I recommend it! If I have the opportunity, I will definitely return.

The family was very kind, going above and beyond expectations. I was traveling by bike and a few kilometers before arrival, a spoke broke. The gentleman went out of his way to repair it in the evening, taking care of everything. The lady gave us good advice on where to have dinner and served us a great breakfast. All very good. The only downside, which is not their fault, is that the road in Longarone is very busy, but with the windows closed, you don't hear the noise from the road.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this B&B during the Reptiles Day in September, as exhibitors. Prior to the phone contact with the very helpful Mr. Silverio, we were greeted by his wife: really kind. The B&B has a typical mountain decor, in addition to the impeccable cleanliness of the rooms and the bathroom. Only small flaws, it was a bit cold and there was no heating in the room, and the bed creaked a lot although it was very comfortable. The breakfast was good and quite varied, we are really happy. The room cost, in our opinion, is adequate. Highly recommended.

Good location to spend a weekend "walking down memory lane" on the Vajont: clean and quiet rooms, good welcome and courtesy, fair price. Good morning, we stayed at B&B Casa Gilda in Longarone. Regarding the room cleanliness, we were not satisfied. Also, the breakfast leaves much to be desired. As for the information, we did not receive any. We arrived by train and the website stated that the hosts were willing to accompany guests, but this was not the case. Everyone had to fend for themselves. The dam is only open for guided tours on Saturdays and Sundays in July. The bus, line 69, is available but the taxi service does not respond from Monday to Friday. We did not find bike or car rental options. The only hotel that seems convenient for services is Hotel Posta, but a private car is required. The commemorative cemetery is 5 km from Longarone. Even the Pro Loco lacks useful information for tourists, there are no guides for different levels of itineraries. I am disappointed and I don't think I will return.

We spent two nights here and were thrilled. We were welcomed very warmly. The room was very clean and equipped with comfortable beds, the private bathroom is spacious with a shower, where there is also space. The view is naturally fantastic. On the terrace, you also have the opportunity to sit down and enjoy the evening. Everywhere you notice the attention to detail.\n\nThe dinner recommendation was great - a bit complicated due to celiac disease, but it worked out great. The breakfast was amazing too. For the "celiac breakfast" special bread and cakes were bought so that nothing was missing.\n\nThe hosts are very warm and even if you don't speak Italian, there are no problems with English and a bit of German :)\nThey take the time to talk to the guests, ask for wishes, especially for breakfast, but at the same time also respect privacy. They are really great people!\n\nWe can wholeheartedly recommend the B&B Casa Gilda, we certainly weren't there for the last time!:).

After days of travel, I finally found a room that, although not too large, was very comfortable, very clean, with a fantastic mattress and with a shower that was finally very hot, just as I like it. The location is good, being close to really beautiful places and very quiet. I would recommend it to everyone.

Elegant and well-kept B&B. The breakfast is good and varied. Large rooms with wide windows overlooking the beautiful little garden with a hammock. Not far from the center of Longarone. Convenient parking space. Cordial welcome from the managers.

My husband and I stayed two nights in this establishment on the twenty-eighth and twenty-ninth of September. We were very pleased with everything. The room and the bathroom were very nice and clean. The breakfast was abundant, and the kindness of the staff was excellent. I will definitely return and recommend it for everything: quality, price, and kindness.

We stayed here on a business trip. We arrived at 9:30 PM and left at 8:30 AM the next morning. We had a bit of difficulty finding it, but by calling the manager, he guided us correctly. There is a free parking space right outside, very convenient, and the road is very quiet. Below runs the national road, a bit noisy, but once the windows are closed, you can hardly hear it. The room and bathroom were renovated, clean, and had everything one needs. I only mentioned to Jacqueline that the pillow was too low for me; it would have been better to have another one to place underneath. The breakfast was good and varied; there was a bit of everything: fresh bread, yogurt, biscuits, and jams or Nutella, fruit juice. Jacqueline prepares whatever one desires: coffee, tea, cappuccino in abundance. For those who have time to relax, there is a beautiful garden outside with a table under the plants and a hammock. It is an excellent stopping point for a visit to the Vajont Dam, Longarone (now famous for its excellent ice cream), and the Cadore. Recommended!

We stayed twice, once last year and the last time about a month ago. Fantastic place, very clean and with a super breakfast (with the bread made by Mr. Silverio, very good!). Fantastic people, too bad they do not have a place for September 30 for the Memory Walk, but we will not miss returning.
