History of the house and curiosity.
The name was not chosen by chance this was really the Casa di Nonna Silla, a wonderful grandma that I loved and I still love a lot, even though she's not here with me anymore.
The house that originally belonged to the Floriani progenitor was a unique building (the brick wall in the living room is proof of this, there was a door connecting it to the rest of the building), then it was divided between the sons and this piece was given to Giovanni Floriani, the father of Nonna Silla.
I do not know much about what happened later, it all starts with my childhood memories.
I remember always hearing her call the "Casa Vecia" (the Old House), bearing witness to many of the woods that are inside.
I remember learning to cook tomato puree and jam (especially chestnut), making endless rows of potato gnocchi (I was the graterist).
Outside, before the restoration, there was a rose garden that rose along the whole facade full of fragrant pink flowers.
In the porch my grandfather taught me to shell the cobs of corn, or scramble the panocie (in dialect) with a rusty device, to feed the pigeons left without a mother dove.
When I was a child, I used to shuttle from the lawn to the barn to feed the rabbits with hidden grass, against my grandfather's will, who claimed that the animals could only eat hay and feed the stomach swelling.
Sitting on the outside steps how many peas I peeled together with my grandmother, many of which ended up raw directly in my small mouth.
So I made the idea? This house like this country is part of me, my history and my childhood and sharing all of this with you, dear guests, makes me immensely happy. I hope you can discover in Cison that magic that I have always seen and discovered since childhood. It is the country in which to lose oneself, it is the country in which to return children, it is the country of the fairytale world.
