Description

The bed and breakfast is located in the 15th-century Villa Ca’ Erizzo, which is one of the most picturesque architectural contexts of ancient Bassano.

Just north of the famous Palladio wooden bridge, on the east bank of the Brenta River, stands Ca’ Erizzo, an elegant structure from the 1400s, with subsequent renovations and embellishments.

In 1918, the villa was the residence of Section One of the American Red Cross ambulances.

Among those volunteer drivers was Ernest Hemingway, and in these places, he found inspiration for two of his most famous novels, "A Farewell to Arms" and "Across the River and into the Trees".

The Hemingway inn, a charming bed and breakfast, is located on the Lungobrenta, dedicated to Ernest Hemingway and is just a short walk from the recently inaugurated Hemingway and Great War Museum.

From the windows of the rooms and the internal garden, you can observe the flow of the river that touches one of the most suggestive and picturesque areas of Borgo Margnan.

The Hemingway Museum
Ernest Hemingway stayed at Villa Ca’ Erizzo during the period of the Great War. This is why this important space and historical-cultural installation have been dedicated to him.

Over the years of painstaking research, a vast archival and photographic documentation has been collected about this well-known figure in the world of literature and beyond, as well as numerous editions of his works in Italian and foreign languages. The same goes for rare and original magazines that extensively cover his life and work.

Guests of the Hemingway Inn are offered free access to the museum facility.

Nice structure, away from the traffic and chaos of the city. Place near the Brenta river. Tranquillity and serenity, with the possibility of also using bicycles to take a walk. Also included is the pass to access the nearby museum dedicated to the writer E. Hemingway.

Excellent property, unique setting just a short distance from the historic center of Bassano, highly appreciated Deepthi's hospitality, always available, beautiful room overlooking the river and delightful breakfast in the outdoor courtyard. Structure full of charm in a fantastic location, not too far from the center. Clean rooms and very well-furnished. Improvement needed at the reception (staff is kind and helpful but not well prepared for the role). Breakfast needs improvement.

The accommodation has the charm of bygone times, one can imagine Hemingway (especially because he is depicted everywhere in the accommodation). The staff are kind and attentive. The owners are efficient and courteous. The rooms are very clean and cozy.

Fantastic location, a part of a '400 mansion with an attached war museum and Hemingway characteristically furnished with references to the famous writer. Overlooking the Brenta river where you can take wonderful walks and reach the center in 10 minutes.

Our stay here was highly enjoyable, especially with the Hemingway connection so apparent. Beautiful rooms and very clean. Ours looked out onto the Brenta, making it very special. We didn't mind the walking distance into the Centre (others might have thought it a little far). The owner was so kind in picking us up from the train station. Very quiet position. Good choice at breakfast.

Private parking inside the accommodation facility, possibility to visit the exhibition inside for free. Very beautiful rooms. To go back whenever you come to Bassano.

A splendid little place, overlooking the banks of the Brenta, with all the best atmosphere of Hemingway's 'Across the River into the Trees'. The inn is located in a side wing of the building that, towards the center, includes the beautiful Renaissance facade of Ca' Erizzo. The interiors are meticulously cared for, my room ('Green Hills of Africa') with two windows opening onto the Brenta, well furnished, with a very spacious, completely new bathroom, with an exquisite and abundant selection of products (complimentary) for personal care. The location of the B&B, on the left bank of the Brenta upstream of the Ponte Vecchio, is perfect to be not far from the center of Bassano but sufficiently isolated to offer absolute tranquility. To top it off, for those who love cycling, the modern bicycles that the inn provides free of charge to tourists to explore the surroundings. I recommend this accommodation without any hesitation.

We have stayed in hundreds of hotels and B&Bs and this one was one of the best. I had absolutely zero complaints! They even gave us a bottle of Prosecco for New Year’s Eve! From the moment they greeted us, I knew I was going to really enjoy the stay. The caretaker tickled and welcomed all three of our dogs (they are small and very well behaved and travel everywhere with us) when most hotels give us a doubtful look when they see three dogs. The location is wonderful, peaceful, and beautiful. It's a long-ish walk to downtown, but it's pleasant and easy, and we did it four times a day with pleasure. The interiors were gorgeous and cozy. I will recommend this place to all of my visiting friends and family.

Small paradise of elegance and hospitality in a unique place! It is a dependence of Villa CàErizzo, destined by the Owner to welcome a few fortunate guests in a unique setting. The Villa overlooks the Brenta River, along which there is an easy and very pleasant walk that I recommend to everyone, after of course having enjoyed the rich and delicious breakfast. Courteous and professional hospitality, price very adequate to the service received. Highly recommended.

Questa struttura è probabilmente il miglior B&B tra i molti in cui abbiamo soggiornato. Servizi e dotazioni da hotel 4 stelle, pulitissimo e ricercato nello stile. Zona tranquilla e caratteristica a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro storico pedonale, parcheggio adiacente alla struttura. Per il poco tempo a disposizione non abbiamo potuto usufruire del servizio di biciclette ma sicuramente torneremo a Bassano e certamente alla Locanda Hemingway. A presto.

Interesting place, next to the Hemingway Museum, but not connected. Simple but with luxury like airco, very nice washroom with fine accessoires. Highly appreciated was the opportunity to park the car safely for a week!

The location, along the river Brenta, is very impressive and ten minutes walk from the historic center and the famous bridge of the Alps. My collaborators are sure they did everything they could to satisfy you. Breakfast is an Italian breakfast, I think you could have served good quality sweet and savory food. As for the value for money, I would like to understand your 5, since, in addition to the room equipped with every comfort (ex air conditioning and Wi-Fi), we have put at your disposal bicycles, outdoor garden, free tickets for our Hemingway museum, and finally, the free, guarded parking inside my villa for seven days. I'm always open to any kind of suggestion to improve my B&B more and more. I am attaching the last three reviews received on booking by guests who have stayed in my Beb on the same days when I had the pleasure of hosting you too. Best regards, lucilla

Beautiful accommodation and position. Lovely bedroom and bathroom. I slept with the window open to hear the river, I was blessed with beautiful weather in October. Quite a unique place to stay. Very nice lady in charge. This is not to be printed - I think a smoke alarm should be fitted on the ground floor.

Il soggiorno da dieci e lode è si da attribuire alla villetta, con grazioso e curato giardino, che rievoca anche negli arredamenti Hemingway uomo, militare e scrittore; le camere spaziose, romantiche, comode e con dettagli ricercati; la quiete che la circonda con la rilassante vista sul Brenta e la breve passeggiata per arrivare in centro storico, ma soprattutto la delicata gentilezza, disponibilità, discrezione e simpatia della padrona di casa, Signora Lucilla. Ritorneremo sicuramente perché è stata una delle vacanze più rilassanti e interessanti. Bassano é veramente graziosa e nel giro di pochi chilometri ci sono molte località belle e interessanti da visitare. A presto!

Una posizione deliziosa, una struttura accogliente e curata in ogni particolare, camere arredate con eleganza e buon gusto..in questo singolare B&B si racchiude intimamente il senso discreto e premuroso dell'ospitalità che ci piace enormemente, che ci appaga e rilassa, che ci fa sentire di essere accuditi e liberi. Hemingway non è una effimera citazione d'amore letterario, ma se invece ami sentire il respiro della storia, proprio in questa struttura ricavata da un bellissimo edificio quattrocentesco, il giovane scrittore soggiornò da volontario durante la prima guerra mondiale. A due passi potrete soddisfare ogni curiosità su queste vicende, visitando l'interessantissimo e ben curato Museo Hemingway, un luogo unico e ricchissimo di documenti e fotografie. B&B Hemingway, Una delizia per l'anima del viaggiatore.

Sono stato ospite di questa graziosa struttura insieme a tre amici, per un weekend in Bassano del Grapppa. Siamo stati i primi fortunati che hanno potuto "assaporare" la bellezza della ristrutturazione del sito e del gusto degli arredi interni il tutto amorevolmente curato dalla gentilissima e squisita bravura di Lucilla! L'annesso museo dedicato a Hemingway e alla Grande Guerra, la Ca Erizzo Luca e le Bellezze di Bassano valgono un viaggio! Complimenti eeee..Grazie.
