Description

Located in the historical center, not far from Rialto, Casabaseggio is situated in the wing of an ancient building which was part, al ready in 1300, of a Franciscan convent. From the terrace it is possible to enjoy the peace of the garden which was constituting an ancient cloister and it is also possible to notice through the cypresses the very ancient Abbey Of the Mercy. The spacious double rooms are available to the guests, with ensuite bathroom or with assigned bathroom. The rooms are eleganty furnished and provided with all the moden comforts (internet WI FI, TV, air conditioner, Internet, fridge, hair-dryer, sound -proofing, radiator heating). It's possible to add one bed for babies and children up to for years old who are lodged free of charge.

Breakfast, included in the price, is served by Marco from 8. 30 to 10. 00 on the bed room or, by choice, on the terrace.

I, Marco, am Venetian. I left Venice in 1999 to work in Rome and then in Milan where I met Alessandra. Alessandra was born and lived all her life in Milan, where she studied (high school of arts) and she worked in an advertising agency. It’s in In Milan where our love story began and in milan our daughter Anita was born. After having lived the reality of these two big italian metropolis, we have decided to give Anita the opportunity to grow up in Venice. Being in Venice, in this lagoon, apart from the cultural stimuli which are unique to this place, you have the chance to rediscover the "the natural passing of time" of the elements like water and earth (one almost always walks..or uses the boat) and also helps you to rediscover the "more personal and intimate time". So, at least, it has always been for me, every time I come back to this town. The area in which we live, is a little secluded and still lived by Venetians, with its historical places: the "Bacari" and its taverns, its silences and the spoken dialect, which induces you to enjoy authentically the ancient dimension of a ‘water town’. Moreover, the house we have chosen, is luminous and surrounded by the green of an ex Franciscan cloister which encourages you to rediscover your more relaxed inner condition. In this house we have started again to practise Yoga, as we were doing before our busy days at work and the birth of Anita. We sincerely hope that the guests who will come to visit us, besides to appreciate the city’s beauty and its history, may also enjoy this more intimate experience and that they will keep the memory on their return back home.

Between the train station and the Rialto bridge. In a few minutes is possible to cross the Big Canal with a gondola ("ferryboat"), for only 50 cents, and arrive to the historical Rialto market, with all its Venetian specialities (fish, vegetables of the islands, flowers) very much frequented by Venetians and tourists. From there, in a few minutes, you arrive to Piazza S. Marco.

We stayed at Casa Baseggio for 4 nights in October and I wanted to wait until the trip was over before I posted a review. My 2 adult daughters and I loved staying here. We found it easy to get there from the airport at the beginning of the trip and easy to get to the train station at the end. Marco was very attentive to our needs. When weather permitted, we were served breakfast on his terrace, a charming little spot that is just the way it looks in the pictures. He provided plenty to eat and lots of coffee! He answered our questions and gave us advice on sightseeing and restaurants, which was very helpful. The beds and rooms were very comfortable and ideal for us. I'm looking forward to staying with Marco and Alessandra the next time I visit Venice.

I loved staying at B&B Baseggio and hope to return soon. Alessandra and Marco are such kind and gracious hosts. The room was beautiful, the aesthetics so pleasing, and all the amenities present to make ones stay easy and comfortable. Also, the directions were easy to follow, and not too far a walk to the waterbus to the airport. Marco and Alessandra also were very helpful with me figuring out directions to where I needed to go. And the breakfasts were excellent. Many thanks and praises to my hosts.

This is a charming place to stay, in a nice quiet area but close enough to walk to all the main attractions and some lovely restaurants. Marco was a great host, providing lots of useful information before and during our stay. A very nice breakfast was provided with plenty of choice.

Marco and Alessandra were such delightfully warm and charming hosts that ensured our stay in Venice was a most pleasurable and rewarding one. Their recommendations for senza glutine restaurants and their inside knowledge and love of Venice was incredible and exceeded our expectations. They catered for my dietary needs as a coeliac and l would whole heartedly recommend Casa Bassegio to anyone.

Our room was clean, overlooked a courtyard, quiet, but with numerous bars and restaurants around the corner. It was about a 20 min walk to the Basilica and 10 to the train station. Breakfast was plentiful with variety. I would stay here again.

This is an outstanding B&B. Superb location in quiet area of Venice but very convenient for access to the City centre and Vaporetto stop. The accommodation is very comfortable and an excellent Breakfast is provided. B&B located on the first floor, without escalator, in a very cosy environment. Marco and his wife are fantastic hosts and their rooms are well furbished with some Venetian charm. Quiet area but close to the more animated area. The terrace for the breakfast (and the breakfast itself) are stellar. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely time at Marco's BnB - the location is perfect, away from the crowds but close to a street with plenty of restaurants. The room was gorgeous and spacious, the bed comfortable. The terrace where the morning breakfast takes place is really beautiful and the breakfast was abundant. Marco is a great host and shared recommendations for amazing restaurants. Marco was very personable and helpful. His B&B is in a quiet area, away from heavy tourist traffic, yet close enough to get to any attractions. It was very easy to get to his B&B from the airport using the Alilaguna, we got off at the first stop and then walked 10 minutes.

What a divine little B&B. Marco and his family were so lovely. The room was clean, amply sized and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The apartment itself is a little way back from the "street" and the outlook from the bedroom is onto the internal courtyard which is leafy and quiet. And the breakfast terrace looks out over a small public garden. We had an excellent nights sleep with the area being so quiet and peaceful. However it was a short walk from the train station (perhaps not so easy with large suitcases though). The breakfast was delicious, fresh and very filling. We were provided with a boiled egg, pastries, cheese, tomatoes with fresh oregano. Muesli, yoghurt, fresh fruit and jams. Kept us going until 2pm! Marco happily offered to keep our bags if needed when we checked out. The only very small thing was that the wifi did not extend very well into the bedroom but that was not my priority for the stay. Thank you Marco! What a joy.

Dear Peter, thank you for you review. Regarding the A/C, I would like to point out that this is a real normal house and not a hotel or a free-range, so we ask our guests to keep the air conditioning on only when they are in the room and to always turn it off when they leave. Furthermore, for practical reasons the air conditioning is turned off in the morning at 6.30 and can only restart after all breakfasts have finished. In any case, the morning is the coolest time of the day and therefore air conditioning is not really necessary. Either way, the air conditioning works well so there is no problem sleeping. About wifi, Your room is in fact the farthest from the wifi source and therefore the signal in that room is weaker than in the others. In any case we have the optical fiber and therefore in general and an excellent wi fi throughout the house. Regarding the cleaning of the room: the room is cleaned, sheets and towels changed every two or three days depending on the length of the guests' stay. Unfortunately you only stayed two days and therefore there was no room cleaning.

We enjoyed our stay in the quiet residential area of Venice, but was still super close to the restaurants and main thoroughfares. 15 minute walk to st marks square and 20 minute walk to the train station. Breakfast was a highlight both on the outside patio and in our room due to rain. WiFi was a bit patchy at times as was the air conditioner. Just a bit annoying but not too dramatic. Thanks to Marco and Alessandra for being wonderful hosts.

Nous avons été très bien accueilli par Marco et son épouse à Venise dans ce très bel appartement, grand, confortable et très propre dans un écrin de verdure. Le quartier est très calme, à l'écart de la foule, proche d'un quartier sympa avec resto et bar à vins et à coté du départ Vaporetto pour Murano et Burano. Mais surtout un grand merci à Marco et son épouse pour leurs conseils, leur gentillesse (le lit changé tous les jours) et leur magnifique petit déjeuner pris sur leur terrasse au soleil au milieu de la verdure. Je recommande vivement cet BnB.

Bien Situé dans une partie calme de Venise mais à deux pas des rues animées. Se mettre au repos après des journées bien remplies, c'est très agréable ou alors, vous pouvez manger une glace sous un pont en écoutant les musiciens des rues. La chambre a tout le confort: bonne literie, climatisation, wifi, moustiquaire dans un état de propreté irréprochable. Le petit déjeuner sur la loggia est très sympathique. Le cadre, les mets (sucré, salé) suffisants et ce qui nous avons apprécié: le petit œuf du matin. Marco et Alessandra sont très attentionnés. Marco a de très bons conseils de visites et de bonnes adresses de restauration. Marco et Alessandra sont au petits soins pour leurs locataires. C'est une adresse que nous allons communiquer à nos amis si ils veulent faire un voyage à Venise.

La estadía fue increíble. Está muy bien ubicado cerca de todo pero en una zona muy tranquila, es cómodo, limpio y tal como muestra en las fotos. Marco nos dió una lista de recomendaciones para comer y fue muy amable. Definitivamente volvería a alojarme ahí.

Siamo così felici di aver avuto l'opportunità di essere ospiti di Marco e Alexandra. Entrambi erano così accoglienti e siamo stati più comodi nei nostri alloggi. Un tocco sorprendente, i cuscini sul nostro letto; mi mancano! La terrazza su cui viene servita la colazione è un vero angolo di paradiso! Situata in una zona romantica e ingiustamente poco conosciuta di Venezia, Casa Baseggio è stata un rifugio tranquillo nei giorni del caos del Carnevale veneziano. Siamo stati benissimo, accolti e coccolati da Alessandra e Marco, in una struttura comoda e pulitissima, facilmente raggiungibile via mare dall’aeroporto con i traghetti pubblici e non lontana dai punti di maggiore interesse turistico. Assolutamente consigliata.

Casa baseggio mi è piaciuto moltissimo! Abbiamo soggiornato due notti, ci siamo trovati molto bene la posizione è ottima perché vicinissimo a tutte le principali attrazioni di Venezia ma allo stesso tempo si trova in un quartiere molto tranquillo e affascinante dove si respira l’autentica atmosfera di Venezia. Siamo riusciti a vedere tutto girando a piedi e anche a prendere il vaporetto per le isole a 2 minuti dal bed &breakfast. Per chi ama fare jogging è facile incontrare persone che corrono tra i ponti e le calle la mattina, mentre la sera si trovano i famosi bacari veneziani per cicchetti e aperitivi. In aggiunta marco e Alessandra sono dei super host ci hanno accolto di persona e sono stati molto gentili e disponibili. Le camere sono confortevoli e pulite e si affacciano su una corte interna molto tranquilla. La colazione è ottima la consiglio vivamente! Se dovessi ritornare a Venezia prenoterei sicuramente di nuovo da loro! Grazie per l’ottima ospitalità

Abbiamo trascorso due notti in questo grazioso B&B nella zona del ghetto di Venezia. La posizione è ottima, il B&B è inserito in una corte molto verde e tranquilla, a due passi dalle principali attrazioni e da ottimi locali in cui degustare i famosi cicchetti. Le stanze sono pulite e dotate di ogni comfort. La colazione è deliziosa e servita su un piccolo terrazzo immerso nel verde. Il proprietario è estremamente accogliente e disponibile, ci ha dato consigli utilissimi su luoghi da visitare e ristoranti in cui mangiare. Davvero consigliatissimo!

Abbiamo soggiornato una sola notte e sismo stati benissimo. Ci ha accolti Marco, il proprietario, persona di rara gentilezza che ci ha consigliato come muoverci a Venezia. La camera pulitissima si affaccia su un giardino molto ben tenuto. La colazione, abbondante, viene servita su un terrazzo da dove si può vedere, oltre il chiostro del convento, l'antica scuola della Misericordia. Sicuramente ci ritorneremo.

Ho soggiornato con la mia compagna in questo piccolo e accogliente B&B. Camera perfetta pulizia eccellente e posizione, secondo noi ottima, in pieno Cannaregio, sestiere in piena espansione con tanti piccoli locali a portata di mano e con Rialto a due passi. Ma secondo noi il punto di forza sono Marco e Alessandra, ci hanno accolto in casa loro facendoci sentire subito a nostro agio, fare il check-in seduti in terrazza sorseggiando un ottimo caffè (fatto rigorosamente con moka) non ha eguali, gentili disponibili e soprattutto dispensatori di ottimi consigli culinari. Consigliatissimo ci torneremo sicuramente nelle nostre prossime scorribande a Venezia.

Casa Baseggio è proprio il posto che cercavo! Si trova in una zona tranquilla, fuori dai percorsi turistici più affollati ma vicinissima al cuore di Venezia e facilmente raggiungibile dalla stazione. La struttura è molto curata, pulita e arredata con gusto in ogni particolare. Il terrazzino dove viene servita la colazione affaccia sul giardino di un convento, una vera e propria chicca per Venezia. I proprietari ci hanno accolti con grande gentilezza e attenzione. Ero stata a Venezia già altre volte, ma grazie ai suggerimenti di Marco (veneziano doc) ho visitato dei luoghi che ancora non conoscevo davvero molto suggestivi...ci hanno suggerito anche dei locali dove gustare la vera cucina veneziana a prezzi contenuti o prendersi un aperitivo con i tipici "cicchetti". L'unica pecca è che siamo stati così bene che è stata dura tornare a casa. Che dire: ve lo consiglio assolutamente!

Casa Baseggio è un "vero" bed&breakfast, perché è anche l'abitazione di Marco (il nostro host) e della sua famiglia. La struttura si trova all'interno di un giardino, per cui è molto silenziosa, fresca e piacevole. La camera in cui ho dormito, con mio marito e nostra figlia, era pulita e accogliente. Da frequentatrice abituale di b&b ho molto apprezzato alcuni dettagli, che rivelano autentica attenzione nei confronti dell'ospite: i bicchieri (in vetro) da tenere sul comodino in caso di sete notturna, l'occorrente per farsi un tè o una tisana in camera, il mini-frigorifero (sempre in camera) per chi voglia conservare al fresco le bibite o una piccola spesa. Ottima colazione casalinga sul terrazzo, con pane e brioche, latte fresco, uova, succhi di frutta, una grande moka di caffè e una bella chiacchierata con Marco e sua moglie Alessandra. Consigliato a chi non sopporta la freddezza degli alberghi ed è in cerca dello spirito della città che sta visitando.

Abbiamo alloggiato in 3 presso una camera di Casa Baseggio. Abbiamo scelto questa location in quanto collocata in maniera strategica sia rispetto alla stazione ferroviaria (siamo arrivate in treno - circa 15/20 minuti a piedi), sia rispetto a Fondamenta Nove - circa 15/20 minuti a piedi (luogo di partenza dei vaporetti per le isole Murano e Burano). La zona di Cannaregio è bellissima: fa già parte della vera Venezia ma non è caotica, anzi è molto tranquilla e rilassante. L'accoglienza da parte del gestore è stata ottimale! Ci ha mostrato la camera (ricavata dal suo appartamento, come le altre) e ci ha dato svariate indicazioni, consigli e suggerimenti fantastici. Camera comoda, pulita, totale autonomia da parte nostra nel rientrare e nel ritirare i bagagli lasciati in deposito. Ci tornerei subito e la consiglio a chiunque: a coppie, ad amici, a famiglie! Non abbiamo apprezzato l'atteggiamento del gestore nel momento del pagamento avendo usufruito del bonus vacanza per il soggiorno. Credo che far sentire in difficoltà i clienti non sia piacevole, affermando che normalmente i prezzi della struttura sono ben altri e che Venezia ha prezzi alti perchè è un meta per pochi. Abbiamo pagato per una notte 111 euro, il bonus vacanza ha coperto l'80% dell'importo totale, con una colazione, che normalmente nei bed and breakfast è inclusa, a 7 euro a persona.

Buongiorno Sig. Claudio, leggo la vostra recensione oggi davvero con grande stupore. La conversazione che abbiamo avuto riguardo Venezia ed il turismo e riguardo l'eccessiva pressione turistica per una città così fragile e delicata, non aveva nulla a che vedere con il prezzo che in tempi "normali" applico in settembre. Ricordo bene che abbiamo parlato dei prezzi alti per i trasporti pubblici e per il giro in gondola, che a causa dell'incedibile pressione turistica e dunque di una forte domanda, si applicano in città. Ho fatto presente - sempre durante la nostra chiacchierata - che in questa stagione 2020 i prezzi per il soggiorno sono più bassi del solito per le ovvie ragioni che tutti conosciamo. Non ho assolutamente detto peraltro che Venezia è una città per pochi e non lo penso affatto, anzi, a mio avviso Venezia deve essere visitata da chi la vuole davvero conoscere e che ha un interesse culturale per la sua storia e non certo solo per chi ha molti soldi da spendere, sarebbe molto lontano dalla mia cultura. Quindi non capisco proprio come mai vi siate sentiti messi in difficoltà a seguito di una conversazione sorta molto spontaneamente tra noi, senza altro fine che non fosse quello di una piacevole chiacchierata. Mi spiace proprio per questo strano malinteso. Riguardo al prezzo: avete pagato in tre adulti per una notte euro 111, vale a dire 70 per la camera doppia, più 20 euro per il letto singolo aggiunto, più 7 euro a testa per la prima colazione, per un totale appunto di euro 111. Un buon prezzo, ritengo. In questa stagione dò la possibilità di prenotare senza la prima colazione, ma voi comunque avete scelto di fare la colazione nel B&B. Ripeto, sono davvero sorpreso per questa recensione che trovo molto ingiusta e che non corrisponde - per quanto mi riguarda - al tenore delle nostra conversazione. Cordiali saluti. Marco Baseggio.
