Description

The accommodation is both comfortable and elegant, set in a traditional Venetian house, that breaths the beauty of the Grand Canal, just two steps towards the Traghetto de La Madonetta.

The rooms are bright and face towards a green, silent, private cort.

All of the rooms are furnished in a functional manor, with a gentle balance between the antique and the modern (in the bedroom, bathroom and the spacious kitchen where breakfast is served).

This is my home but I converted it into a B&B when my three daughters had left home to live abroad. I’ve named it B&B la Madonetta after the little street that leads up to the house.

I hope you will enjoy the cosy and familiar atmosphere: having breakfast in our spacious kitchen, reading or relaxing in our court or leaving room, you will be able to rest in the quiet and comfortable bedroom.

I was a teacher at the primary school and I gladly welcome families with children. I love to entertain my guests suggesting them tailored and unusual itinerary around the city to discover the history and authentic Venetian life.

Since the house is located very close to the Rialto’s bridge, the heart of the city, it won’t be difficult to find your way through the typical Venetian calli and campielli.

I look forward to welcoming you as our guest.

Our stay with Maria was fantastic. It is a spacious and beautifully furnished apartment, a one-minute walk from a small pier on the Canale Grande. The house has a small garden where you can spend some time in the evening. The room has everything for a short trip. Air conditioning was a lifesaver during hot nights in July. We had a private bathroom. The host, Maria, is very friendly. Unfortunately, we hardly speak any Italian, so we could not talk much. The breakfast was the perfect start to the day. Thank you. Great location for getting around Venice and reaching the main tourist attractions. Beautiful location in a less frequented calle, so quiet. The room we slept in is inside an apartment (with other rooms for rent) in a historic building. The small entrance courtyard is very charming. The cleanliness was excellent. Mrs. Maria is very kind and helpful if needed. Breakfast is available at a nearby pastry shop. Ideal for a short vacation.

Very nice private accommodation in a central location. Easily reachable by vaporetto and a short walk. Crossing the Rialto Bridge brings you to the San Marco district. You stay together with the landlady. Breakfast included coffee, tea, orange juice, yogurt, bread with butter, jam, cheese and fruit. Mille grazie!

Maria is a really nice person. She gave us a warm welcome and was always available if we needed her. The accommodation is in the center of Venice and everything is within walking distance, while being in a quiet area. The room is big enough, the bathroom is very convenient and her homemade breakfast is a must: everything is fresh, varied, and there is plenty of food and drinks. Check-in and check-out were very easy. I undoubtedly recommend this B&B because everything is done to make us feel at home.

Accommodation simply fantastic — everything was wonderful! A very welcoming house full of atmosphere in true Venetian style. A special pleasure is the view from the window directly over the canal: in the morning and evening it creates a unique atmosphere and really makes you feel in Venice. The owner is a very interesting and pleasant person to talk to. From the first moment you do not feel like you are in a hotel, but rather guests in the home of good friends. A special thanks for the breakfast: in the morning the owner prepares an incredibly tasty homemade bread — a real delight and a rare attention to guests. We were very satisfied with the stay and will happily return. We sincerely recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience the true atmosphere of Venice.

My daughters and I stayed at the B&B La Madonetta for two days. It is an understatement to call it a bed and breakfast: it really feels like home. You get there by leaving behind the way to Rialto and turning into a small alley. You arrive at an iron gate and from there to a small secret garden, winter cradle - among other things - of a rose garden and the newly arrived red maple. The rooms are spacious, warm, welcoming, and silent, even though as you turn the corner, you find yourself in the midst of the liveliness of people, local places, and enticing scents that lead to Rialto first and San Marco later. The location of this house is enviable, convenient for everything. I didn't meet Mrs. Maria, but she followed us discreetly from a distance and was punctual in responding to our questions. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! In fact, if I were to return to Venice, I wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

I stayed in this bnb during the Carnival period. The apartment is located in the San Polo district, lively but also quiet and safe. It is a stone's throw from the Rialto Bridge, so very convenient for walking around Venice without taking public transport. I stayed in a beautiful, spacious and bright double room, with an external private bathroom that was also spacious and very clean. Mrs. Maria prepared breakfast every day at the time the guest desired, with fresh bread, milk, tea, coffee, jams, yogurt, and sometimes with delicious homemade cakes. She is a discreet, kind person who is always attentive to any needs. Everyone has their own keys so they can enter and exit at any time. I highly recommend this bnb; I felt pampered and at home. Surely, if I come back to Venice to sleep, I would like to come back here.

Apartment in a typical ancient palace in Venice, overlooking the lagoon, central and quiet location just steps from the vaporetto stop. Beautiful room, excellent cleanliness, breakfast with silver cutlery in a beautiful dining room, atmosphere of other times. We really liked Maria's accommodation and I can recommend it without reservation. We stayed in her triple room with an attached bathroom. The double bed is very comfortable and the extra bed is slightly shorter and harder. It's fantastic to reside in the heart of San Marco with a real and very friendly Venetian. Maria's B&B is quietly located on a side street on the 2nd floor. From there, all the sights are within walking distance or the vaporetto stop is just around the corner. The breakfast is very rich, varied, and delicious and was served to us in the beautiful living room. The WiFi works perfectly. We were given a key and could come and go at any time. The room was excellent, but without a TV which was not important to me. If I have to find a negative aspect, I have to say that the bathroom is outside the room and not very close, you have to cross the corridor to get there, but very clean and spacious. For me it's worth going back because the location is very good and the value for money is unbeatable.

Pleasant stay, great breakfast, although some salty elements could have been added. Due to a misunderstanding regarding the availability of the room we booked, the owner offered us a complimentary stay, providing us with a decent and clean accommodation nonetheless. The structure itself is an apartment, so a rather informal environment, which suited us perfectly, but I would not recommend it for people seeking absolute privacy. The location turned out to be the real highlight, being practically close to the Rialto vaporetto and in general to all major attractions.

Typical Venetian building, it really feels like home, the windows of my room overlooked the canal, unfortunately it wasn't the season to be enchanted by watching the passing boats. The only flaw is that the manager lives in the apartment, the way I am, at times I was worried about disturbing.

Elegant Venetian house, curated in detail by an attentive and meticulous landlady. The triple room we were given was very spacious: the double bed was king size and we slept comfortably in three (two adults and a 2-year-old girl); the additional bed was a very comfortable cot. The bathroom, not in the room but reserved only for us, was large and clean. For breakfast, we found homemade cake and bread, delicious jams, warmed mini croissants, and a table set with care and elegance. The B&B is a 5/10 minute walk from Rialto and very close to the San Silvestro vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal. I would definitely choose it again if I were to return to Venice.

I would stay here again! Beautiful apartment, extremely well located. Maria is a lovely host. I had a single room which was bright and airy. I shared the bathroom with Maria and that was fine, as well. The only major drawback is actually finding the flat. There are no signs saying that this is a B&B, nothing on the gate or the door to her flat. It is like staying in a private home, which is lovely and once you find it, its easy enough to wander about.

Delicious breakfast! Initially, it was really difficult to find the property. Maria tried to help us and actually sat waiting for us in a square for 1 1/2 hours. But, once we got our bearings, it was easy to navigate around Venice.

The friendly family atmosphere, good location between the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco. Good housing at a reasonable price.

Great location, just a few steps from the Rialto Bridge and convenient with the Vaporetto. Beautiful apartment, very good cleanliness and no noise at night. The landlady is very serious and helpful. We will definitely return.
