Area city center
Gallio, located at an altitude of 1100 meters above sea level and only 3 km from Asiago, is an ancient village that is part of the 7 Municipalities of the Asiago Plateau. It is surrounded by forests, flat meadows, and mountains.

These mountains hold sacred memories of the fallen, being the theater of the Great War and its battles.

Gallio and its surroundings are the ideal place to take a walk, breathe fresh air, and immerse oneself in history and lush nature.

The entire territory is rich in attractions for all ages and needs.

Gallio, with its churches and commemorative monuments

In addition to the town center of notable historical interest, you can visit many churches scattered in the surrounding areas. For example, the Parish Church of S. Bartolomeo, which dates back to 1162, the 15th-century church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, and the 17th-century Church of Stoccareddo, which is a unique example of Alpine Gothic architecture. Some of these churches also serve as monuments to the fallen, such as the Alpini Chapel in the Busafonda area, while others rise in isolated places immersed in nature, such as the Sanctuary of Madonna del Buso. In addition to religious buildings, there are also several commemorative sites, such as the Monument of the Bersaglieri at Cima Valbella or the Leiten Military Shrine, which preserves the remains of 54,000 war victims, both Italian and Austro-Hungarian.

Itineraries and walks in the Seven Municipalities Valley

The entire territory of the Seven Municipalities is rich in walks, itineraries, trails, and excursions. You can find routes of all kinds, from easy ones to more challenging ones. You can walk through history and wartime memories or enjoy the tranquility of the woods and the sunshine of the meadows. One recommended itinerary is the Valley of the Mills, which takes you to several ancient mills and follows waterways where you can find unique flora. The route ends in the village of Contrada Ronchi. Another popular and evocative walk is the Path of Silence, where you can retrace the memory of the war victims. It is a moderately difficult route, with some flat sections and some steep parts, but it is well signposted.

Attractions for young and old

If you have young children, you can take them to the Gnome Village in Asiago. A pleasant trail will lead them through gnomes and nature, discovering the forest and its inhabitants. There are also picnic areas, carousels, and soccer and volleyball fields. If you are interested in astronomy, you shouldn't miss the Asiago Astronomical Observatory, a traditional destination for school groups and groups of astronomy enthusiasts.
