PIANA DELLE SELVE is located in the center of an Umbrian company spread over the plateau overlooking the Tiber valley between the municipalities of Amelia Giove and Penna in Teverina.
The intense green of the holm oak woods surrounds the fields cultivated with wheat and fodder, the olive groves, the vineyards and the orchards, harmonizing a splendid palette of colors that varies according to the seasons.
The accommodation facility includes three ancient stone farmhouses (two of which are temporarily being renovated) which offer the possibility of staying in single, double rooms or apartments.
Furthermore, there is the possibility of practicing agri-cycling, trekking and even guided walks in the woods rich in asparagus mushrooms and medicinal herbs.

Hi, my name is Claudio, I'm 55 years old, I was born in Rome but I've lived here in Piana since I was two years old
Piana delle Selve has been located in the heart of the Polelli PIccirilli family's farm for more than three generations.
With my father we renovated the farm with many sacrifices between '97 and '99:
planting five hectares of DOC vineyards, one hectare of olive grove and an orchard of around one hundred organic trees of native varieties in danger of extinction, project of the province of Terni ANCIENT FRUITS
Renovating the three main farmhouses, creating the Piana delle Selve agritourism company
Since 1999 I started and managed the agritourism company (16 hectares) and the rest of the family business (44 hectares) until 2014
In the decade from 2013 to 2023, following the collapse of the Italian economy and in particular the collapse of the markets connected to agriculture in our country, I took the hard but inevitable decision to save goat and cabbage by closing the farm.
I became an emigrant I collaborated in the opening and management of an Italian trattoria in India TRATTORIA GHIRIGORI (currently open) bringing Italian, Umbrian and Amerinio products and recipes, and above all from my agritourism company, creating an incredible fusion of colours, smells and flavors improbably enriching my experience of working and spiritual life in the relationship between man, nature and animals
Today, thanks to my children Ada and Surya, I have found my motivation again and together we have decided to reactivate hospitality in Piana delle Selve.
Enriched in heart and motivated in spirit today we are honored to have you as welcome guests here in this corner of paradise surrounded by nature where the air is still pure where the heart nourishes the soul and the mind can unplug..

The Piana delle Selve is located in a strategic position thanks to the Orte railway station (Orte is a fundamental crossroads for road and rail traffic from north/south to east/west and vice versa) and to the Fiumicino airports (Rome) and S. Egidio (Perugia) also excellently connected to the Orte railway station.
From the green heart of Italy, many tourist locations such as Florence Chianciano Terme Siena Orvieto Todi Spoleto Assisi Perugia Rome Tivoli Viterbo Bagnaia, the sea and the lakes are easily reachable in a short time (an hour and a half to the nearest beaches and bathing lakes 45 minutes)
The Amerino area with its 10 municipalities is a whole world to discover from the pre-Romanesque era to the historic buildings of the 20th century

Welcoming, clean, the lit fireplace is worth the visit. The view from the large windows of the living room, two paintings in the Umbrian nature immersed in the countryside, away from all the noise of machines and cement. Newly renovated rooms, warm, welcoming, clean, large bathrooms with a bathtub that is also worth the price of the overnight stay. Ideal environment for families. Our two children enjoyed the bikes, walks in the woods, fishing, the spa, the big fireplace, the bruschetta, and the bathtub. Kitchen adequately supplied, top dishwasher, all recently renovated, all clean. A nice surprise, we will return in summer, the children want to go fishing in a nice pond just 15 minutes by car where you find everything you need, you don't need to bring your equipment, good food, good prices.
