Due to the pandemic, our kitchen for breakfast is currently closed. Therefore, we will offer breakfast in a bar located in the center of Città di Castello.
Usually, during normal times, we serve an Italian breakfast with local artisanal pies, biscuits, jams, honey, fresh local bread, local salami, pecorino cheese, fruit juices, coffee of various types (traditional, decaf, barley, chicory, American, tea, etc.), and upon request, anything else to satisfy everyone's taste!

The Bed and Breakfast Molenda was born of a renovation of an old (1700) family farmhouse that has been inhabited for many years by the settlers who farmed the surrounding land and then, with my brother Francesco in 2003 we decided to renovate it as we had a person who was interested in us a ground floor restaurant and then during the renovation, we decided to make several upstairs rooms with private bathroom (we have 6 rooms all with private bathroom) and we built a loft in the old attic.
So we started this business so 'for fun without having clear ideas too and now we are very happy because many customers arrive and everyone is excited out of place, and even rooms and about the restaurant below.

Country cottage a few minutes from Città di Castello, Federico excellent host kind, helpful and willing to give great advice on where to go and what to see, the restaurant below also excellent. We will definitely return.

Why did I choose Molenda B&B? I was looking for a structure (B&B, Agriturismo, Hotel) that could serve as a HUB for me and my family (including Lagotto Romagnolo dog) during the 3-day tour we had planned in northern Umbria. I stumbled upon Molenda B&B's website by chance: I looked at the photos, studied the location on Google Maps in relation to the destinations I had set, read the reviews (starting with the few worst ones and then the best ones, many), sent a availability request and some technical clarifications regarding the hospitality of the dog and after 2 hours I received the response with quotes, information, and availability. The location is 3 km from Città di Castello, among woods and tobacco plantations easily accessible for those with a car (ample dedicated private parking). The structure is a finely renovated farmhouse equipped with all comforts: from amenities in the bathroom, to free Wi-Fi in the room and common areas, to the latest generation beds and mattresses (Dorelan brand) that allow you to rest very well. Well-functioning air conditioning with remote control and mosquito nets (given the location) on all windows. The Breakfast: you serve yourself as at your own home, but you find all the comforts of a 4-star hotel: Lavazza coffee and chocolate machine, various types of homemade pies and cakes, yogurt, muesli, cookies, 2 types of milk, jams, Nutella, fresh bread, local cold cuts and cheeses and on request also bacon, sausages, and scrambled eggs. Renovated farmhouse on the outskirts of Città di Castello. Extremely clean and well-kept room. The manager is very kind, friendly, and helpful in providing all the information to access the main places of interest in the surroundings. The property is located a few minutes from the center, in a quiet and lovely position. The breakfast service, during this period of Covid restrictions, is served in a pastry bar in the center that offers excellent quality and quantity.

Abbiamo trascorso una bellissima vacanza a Città di Castello. Al Molenda ci siamo trovati benissimo, ottima accoglienza e gentilezza. Un voto in più anche per la qualità del ristorante Macome', lì accanto.

Essere ospiti di Federico è stata una bellissima esperienza, la struttura posizionata nel verde ti fa immergere nella natura e rilassare, accoglienza, disponibilità e gentilezza rendono il tutto molto gradevole. Base di partenza per le visite ai tanti siti storici e naturali di cui la zona è piena, personalmente ho potuto visitare Urbino (marche) e zone della bassa toscana dove non ero mai stato e ovviamente l'Umbria.
Il tutto accompagnato dalla costante assistenza di Federico prodico di consigli sui percorsi da effettuare, dove mangiare, con l'aggiunta di una assistenza come nel mio caso di un guasto alla macchina, dove si è subito attivato per la risoluzione del problema, visto anche il periodo particolare dove molti erano chiusi per ferie

Casa di campagna ristrutturata, con camere accoglienti e confortevoli. La sala da pranzo è ben arredata e comprende una cucina a disposizione degli ospiti per prepararsi le colazioni. Ottimo assortimento di crostate casalinghe, molto gustose. Il gestore del B&B è stato molto gentile e premuroso, nonché prodigo di consigli per eventuali escursioni. Il B&B si trova a 2 km dal centro di Città di Castello, in posizione tranquilla. Sistemazione ideale per me, che avevo deciso di passare un paio di giorni in Umbria e soprattutto di visitare i musei della Fondazione Burri, questi ultimi da non perdere per chi ama l'arte contemporanea.

L'unico neo a mio avviso è la presenza del ristorante al piano inferiore che disturba il relax in camera.

La struttura è caratteristica, tipica della zona, con i soffitti a travi e pianelle. Molto molto accogliente. Si trova in una posizione tranquilla e a due passi dal centro del paese e il gestore è gentilissimo, cortese e molto disponibile. Ci siamo trovati benissimo. Alla prossima!
