Description

Residence Le Rocche is located in the highest part of the historic center of Ferentillo and borders the walls of the medieval fortresses. Completely protected to the north, it enjoys sun exposure from sunrise to sunset, offering an exceptional microclimate for most of the year: very mild winters and cool, breezy summers.

The three apartments in our residence, which are rented out to tourists, have been converted from old houses built just below one of the two fortresses of Ferentillo. They are finished to a high standard and furnished with care, equipped with appliances, and enjoy a magnificent view of Ferentillo and the splendid panorama offered by the Valnerina.

All apartments have access to a large outdoor area that reaches the walls of the medieval fortresses, where a barbecue fireplace, stoves, a sink, and sitting areas with tables allow guests to enjoy breathtaking views and total relaxation.

The first apartment, Lo Smeraldo, has a bedroom, a bathroom with shower, a large living room with sofa bed and kitchenette, a small porch where you can enjoy a shaded outdoor space, and a large terrace with a splendid view of the Nera Valley.

Next is Ametista, consisting of one bedroom, a large living room with kitchenette, and bathroom with shower.

The apartment has a panoramic terrace of particular beauty, a table with chairs, a large umbrella, and a sitting area overlooking the Nera River and the entire valley, offering truly satisfying views and a unique opportunity to relax.

The latest addition is the Perla house, a beautifully furnished studio apartment that offers unexpected space in its layout. It will surprise you—take a look at the photos.

Finally, the last and largest of the apartments is the Zaffiro. It has a comfortable kitchen with a dining table, a bathroom with shower, and a large living room with two double sofa beds on the ground floor.

Climbing the stairs, you will find a cozy living room with a sofa bed, offering a relaxation area. A comfortable double bedroom and a bathroom with bathtub complete the approximately 80 square meters of this gem of Le Rocche Della Valnerina.

You will also have a panoramic balcony with breathtaking views of the valley, partly covered by a porch with outdoor table and chairs and partly served by a shaded living room overlooking the approximately 6 km of nature below.

Hello everyone, I'm Paul, owner of the Residence THE ROCKS, everything happens by accident chasing a dream, it was, you can perform a restoration in a medieval building with stone walls, wooden beams. roof tiles and tiles made ??by hand, in short, everything that represents the history of our places back in time. This opportunity was given to me right here, I purchased the walls at a very favorable price, and then I invested several years of my work mental and physical, to recreate, in respect of the area, housing units with all the comforts possibili. Dopo having worked as a craftsman in the wood industry for thirty years I have tried in this enterprise, completely in love with these places I remained difficult retrieve all the tiles of the roof, all the stones that came out during the demolition and cleanup of the exterior, I did not buy them a stone nor a brick nor a tile while redoing all the roofs and restoring all internal and external walls, the only things new concern wood roof and lintels always in the wood where it was not possible to use the old things. All the walls were made with natural lime rendering and historic effort to preserve the history of a great peace in luoghi. The residence is located in the highest part of the historic center of Ferentillo, ancient medieval village in the heart of the Nera Valley, not far from the Museum of the Mummies and the 'Abbey of San Pietro in Valle. A few miles away the famous Niagara Falls, Lake Piediluco. The city of Terni is less than 20km as well as Spoleto, in about an hour's drive you can also visit Carsulae (archaeological site from Roman times) rather than Narni underground, and still Orvieto and Assisi. Along the valnerina you can visit many medieval villages until you reach Norcia and Cascia that besides being the places where they lived St. Benedict and St. Rita are also home to a deli in Umbria that finds its highest expression. We were fortunate to stay in this wonderful place for 5 days from 22nd to 26th August and it undoubtedly stayed in our hearts! The love, dedication, empathy, and attention shown by Paolo, an impeccable host, is visible in every corner of this place. From the apartments, spacious and cared for in every detail, to the numerous common areas immersed in greenery and equipped with every possible comfort: from the shared terrace with long tables, barbecue, and armchairs, to the pool... a little gem! Not to be underestimated is the breathtaking view that can be admired from every corner of this enchanted place. The location is also strategic for visiting countless beautiful villages in the surrounding area, the Marmore waterfalls are 10 minutes away, Lake Piediluco 20. We spent three days at 'Le Rocche', a very quiet and relaxing place suitable for those who want to get away from the city chaos and spend a few days in peace. The place is well-kept and very clean. The rooms are clean and tidy, the owners are approachable, helpful, and welcoming; you can feel the love for this place. The pool is very nice, with showers and bathrooms in an elevated position with a very beautiful view. The only negative point is that they do not provide linen included in the price, which is always included in other places. This service is excluded from the price and for those who want to use it, the price is a bit too high.

Nella vita è proprio vero che è tutto molto relativo, un nostro set di biancheria , composto di coprimaterasso, lenzuola ( sotto e sopra) federe e copri federe, asciugamani grandi da doccia, medio da viso e piccolo da bidè, ap costo di 10€ lavati asciugati e stirati, neanche in lavanderia industriale si riescono ad avere, noi facciamo da soli e così riusciamo a dare un servizio a basso costo, la motivazione è presto spiegata del perché non viene fornita di base, se nella casa Zaffiro, locata dai signori, che ha nove posti letto dovessimo fornire la biancheria gratuitamente, nelle locazioni di due notti, una notte andrebbe per la biancheria, le nostre sono case complete e non camere, la differenza è tutta qua', può entrare una singola persona o otto persone, da qui la necessità di non includere alcun tipo di servizio a priori, ma solo su richiesta, come dice qualcuno anche con il massimo sforzo non si può mai fare tutto felici, noi, continuiamo a provarci e qualche volta ci riusciamo e qualche volta no, ma non ci arrendiamo, grazie comunque a tutti

We stayed in the Ametista apartment with four people. The apartment was clean and functional. The spaces were well divided and organized. The apartment has dishes, a dishwasher, and good internet connection. The apartment has a terrace overlooking the Valnerina and the village of Ferentillo. The apartment, as well as the entire village in which it is located, has been masterfully renovated by Paolo, who together with Catia manages the place. In the well-kept village, there are common areas for guests to use, such as a barbecue area, a large panoramic terrace, and a swimming pool. Furthermore, from Le Rocche, you can enjoy a privileged view of a picturesque valley, with fields crossed by the river and mountains all around. Catia and Paolo are very pleasant, friendly, and helpful people. Communication was quick and effective. Utilities are not included in the apartment price, so you can actively influence the total price of the stay by deciding how much energy to consume. Quality/price ratio definitely in favor of quality. Recommended! We will come back to visit you.

I have enjoyed the hospitality of Paolo at his residence and I must say it was a wonderful stay. The location of Le Rocche, situated on a raised point compared to Ferentillo, allows you to enjoy an exceptional and breathtaking view. The premises are comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, as well as equipped with all the necessary comforts for a pleasant stay. It is worth adding that the town of Ferentillo is relatively close to all the most beautiful places to visit, starting with the Marmore waterfalls. Furthermore, the owner Paolo was very kind, also providing us with valuable information on the places to visit and the best and most affordable restaurants in the area. What can I say, full satisfaction, an experience to be repeated.

Wonderful place, compliments to the manager Paolo who keeps the structure in perfect condition without overlooking any detail. The view is more than spectacular from various points of the rocca, each accommodation is equipped with all comforts and has its own private space. We stayed two days in this beautiful structure and I can honestly say that we were literally fascinated. We stayed only for a weekend, but it was enough to appreciate this lovely place.
