Description

The B&B Di Valle is located along the Franciscan Via Francigena, between Pietralunga and Gubbio. This building, dating back to the early Middle Ages, was built on the remains of the ancient Roman Castrum Vallis and is situated on the side of the picturesque hill of the same name. The owners have recently restored the structure, which is surrounded by a charming rustic garden, with paths winding through the oak and broom forest to the north and the ancient olive grove to the south of the Francigena. From the lookout point, guests can enjoy a spectacular view of the Assino plain and the picturesque medieval church of San Giovanni Battista di Loreto.

Palazzo Valle is also an ideal starting point for hiking and cycling excursions to Monte Cucco and Monte Catria.

The area of Palazzo Valle reserved for the B&B offers three double rooms, with a total of seven beds. The B&B has a dedicated breakfast area, with a fully equipped kitchen, and a cozy living room with TV. Linen service is included in all rooms and bathrooms.

Recently restored, some two-level apartments with kitchen, dining area, living room, bedroom, and bathroom have been designated for hospitality. Linen service is also included in these accommodations.

All guests can also enjoy the spacious garden and solarium.

I am Anna Lisa Santolin, my husband and I are the owners of Palazzo Valle and its surrounding land. Lovingly called "the ruin," we decided to completely restore this palace at the end of the last century. With great enthusiasm from our children and grandchildren, I designed and built the wonderful garden that surrounds it. Since the palace was too big for us, we decided to dedicate a part of it to hospitality. From this, the Valle B&B was born, which recently saw the addition of some small apartments. These apartments are ideal for guests who desire tranquility and an authentic connection with untouched nature.

Palazzo Valle is located on a hill, 6km away from Gubbio, along the Franciscan Francigena road between Pietralunga and Gubbio.

The structure is very characteristic, clean and with a beautiful view over the valley. The room where we stayed was perfect for two adults and a child, the bathroom essential but new and well organized, with many towels, clean and fragrant. We were greeted with kindness and warmth, we felt at home and will definitely return!

Excellent B&B a few kilometers from Gubbio. The manager, Mrs. Annalisa, is truly a splendid person. Capable of making guests feel at ease and ready to satisfy every need. The room where I stayed was sufficiently spacious for 2 adults and 2 children, warm despite the cold and rain, with a well-utilizable bathroom. For breakfast there are available: homemade jams (delicious), fruit, juices, milk, coffee, cakes, tarts, in short, there is everything. I asked for the possibility of a savoury breakfast, and I had eggs, ham, cheese. The lady also made sure to provide us with something to take for a packed breakfast for the girls. In short, I felt at home. I hope to return soon!

Very welcoming and quiet B&B. Well heated, nothing is missing, there is also a kitchen, the renovated bathroom in the room with a shower with all the necessary accessories. Abundant breakfast. The children appreciated both a cake and croissants that the lady made us find, in addition to yogurt, milk, toast with butter and jam, microwave, bread warmer, etc. Everything excellent.

We stayed at this B&B for a weekend and will definitely return. The structure, of historical value, is very welcoming and clean and enjoys a wonderful panorama. The room, spacious and comfortable, was arranged and the towels were changed every day. Breakfast is plentiful, varied and delicious. The atmosphere is warm and familiar, but the stay would be worth it just for getting to know the owner: Anna Lisa. Exquisite person, interesting and cordial, with so many curiosities and knowledge about the history of the place (and not only) to be able to be a tourist guide; talking with her was a pleasure. Be sure to ask her for some information before your visit to Gubbio. Finally, the value for money is excellent.

The B&B di Valle comes highly recommended. From the location to the cleanliness and tasteful decor, to the delicious and abundant food and breakfast, everything was outstanding! Not to mention the hospitality of Anna-Lisa and Rita, who warmly take care of their guests! If we were to come back to this area, we would definitely book the B&B di Valle again.

The structure is splendid and very comfortable. We were all four greeted with great courtesy. The rooms are new and well-kept. The owner was very kind and is a person of great culture: she told us several curiosities about the history of the place and it was very interesting. Highly recommended.

Beautiful structure on the hills 10 minutes from the center of Gubbio, with ample private parking 20 meters from the property. We stayed in the suite, which on the upper floor has a lovely room with 3 beds and a very large bathroom, while on the lower floor there is a fully equipped kitchen with armchairs and TV. Beautiful view over the valley! Breakfast consisted of packaged products to comply with Covid regulations, but fresh croissants were served every morning. We didn't get to see AnnaLisa, but we were taken care of by Rita and everything was perfect.

I stayed for one night at this B&B di Valle with my partner. The farmhouse, finely renovated, is located on a hill near Gubbio, with a wonderful view over the valley. Mrs. Annalisa has made this place unique thanks to the accurate research and selection of plants and flowers, with which she has enriched the gardens. Very refined furnishings in the room, equipped with everything necessary. Excellent and very abundant breakfast. Fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade jams, fresh bread and brioche, fruit juices. Mrs. Annalisa is an excellent hostess. Perfect experience!

This is such a lovely place with the kindest host! The dinner and breakfast were the best of our whole pilgrimage! At night there are even fireflies. I can absolutely recommend!

Stay too short to fully enjoy the beauty of the place. Five minutes from the center of Gubbio, a suggestive place, full of history and immersed in the Eugubian countryside. Breakfast (with fresh products) and cleanliness are the highlights of the structure: Mrs. Anna Lisa offers a truly unique service, with impeccable customer care from every point of view, always ready to meet every need: from tourist information, to requests on food or other. Experience to be repeated also in spring and summer, to appreciate the colors of the garden of Valle Castle and the surrounding lands.

The farmhouse is located above Gubbio in a truly beautiful panoramic position overlooking the valley below. Ours was a brand new apartment with a well-equipped kitchen with microwave, bathroom with shower, and two bedrooms, set on two floors connected by a narrow spiral staircase. For breakfast, there was no common room, but the very kind Mrs. Lisa set the table for us in the apartment at the time we preferred and brought us a tray of pastries and coffee. In the fridge we always had fresh milk, yogurt, butter, fruit juice, and homemade jams. In the kitchen on a small table there are always available a cake like a donut or tart, rusks, fresh fruit, the necessary to make tea or coffee, and water. Also much appreciated for an afternoon snack for our girls! We were welcomed with warmth and simplicity as if we were at home! Definitely magnificent even with snow or in spring.

Immersed in the green with a beautiful panorama. Very well-kept both the exterior and the interior, the room comfortable and well-furnished, the breakfast plentiful and excellent, the owner really friendly, familiar! I highly recommend it, even though it's a bit outside Gubbio it's definitely worth it, a few minutes and you're still in the center!

Gubbio and the Eugubine land, already in itself is a great thing! This B&B di Valle with its perched and quiet position is a little gem. To go back even in other seasons, maybe with a sprinkle of snow.

One has the pleasure of experiencing history thanks to the preservation of the Romanesque tower and the well dating back to the times of Jesus. The landlady has meticulously restored, thanks to her academic expertise as an architect, the entire structure located not far from Gubbio, on top of a secluded hill rich in silence. I always highlight the excellent historical preparation on the splendor of the Venetian Republic and its doges, always guided by Mrs. di Valle.

Annalisa is a special person. She manages with great passion this B&B di Valle and gave us a lot of useful information on typical restaurants, for finding convenient parking for the visit to Gubbio. I will recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in those areas and if possible I will return. The only slightly negative note is the lack of air conditioning.

Lovely place, it's on the way of St. Francis so very convenient for pilgrims. Mrs. Annalisa is exquisite company and a well of information about the history of Gubbio. We stayed during the Easter period. The place is wonderful, the rooms are very beautiful and welcoming. The lady who runs the establishment is extremely kind and friendly. The breakfast is plentiful and the cakes she prepares are delicious. We spent 3 days like in a family. Thank you, Mr. Annalisa, we will definitely see each other again.

Located in an old 1800 stone manor. Beautiful view, warm and comfortable rooms, kitchen at our complete disposal for all our needs; good and plentiful breakfast with homemade cake and warm croissants. The owner was very kind and tried in every way to make our short stay pleasant. Must try.

We stayed 2 nights at the B&B di Valle. The structure is very beautiful, immersed in the greenery and peace of the hills around Gubbio on the Way of St. Francis. We like to stay a bit outside the center, having a car to move around. The rooms are very cozy and Mrs. Anna Lisa pampered us with her abundant and quality breakfasts, also providing us with interesting information about the local history and more. Absolutely recommended! Strategic position on the hills near Gubbio, stunning panoramic view from all the windows. The house almost looks like a small castle. Very clean and excellent and abundant breakfast. Mrs. Annalisa is very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth going back!

A splendid place a few kilometers from Gubbio. The landlady is a wonderful person who immediately makes you feel at ease and prepares delicious breakfasts with fresh products, homemade jams, and cakes. The structure is beautiful with cozy and very clean rooms. I recommend anyone who wants to visit those areas to stop by her place.

Hillside structure with a splendid view over the valley, a few kilometers from Gubbio easily reachable. Quiet and very peaceful, super abundant breakfast and extremely kind and helpful manager.

I felt very comfortable in the beautiful B&B di Valle. Annalisa is very helpful, lunch and dinner were great. The garden is wonderful, the structure is located directly on the Francis' Way. An ideal place to relax. Thank you for everything Annalisa.

With my husband, we found ourselves in Gubbio on a Tuesday evening, without having booked any hotel, a bit on an adventure. After a hasty web search to find a place to sleep, I spoke with the very kind Mrs. Lisa, who despite informing us that she was unfortunately out of town, in order to host us and not leave us in difficulty, she gave us - through a third party - the keys to her B&B di Valle, practically leaving us the entire property at our disposal, without even asking for our credentials. Having traveled a lot, I believe I have never come across such kindness and hospitality as hers, even despite the distance. She trusted us and gave us her house without the slightest fear that we might act in bad faith. After some difficulty in finding the B&B as it was already late evening, we were welcomed by a lovely place, full of flowers and greenery, colorful, comfortable and welcoming rooms; very clean bathroom, spacious shower with a glass door, suitable small cabinets to place personal items, and a wicker basket kindly placed next to the mirror with shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. Everything perfect! Fantastic awakening, silence and birds chirping, breakfast kindly brought by Mrs. Rita, with tart, croissants, and everything you could hope to eat in the morning. Excellent variety! The next day, Mrs. Lisa called us to see if everything was as we hoped, and I replied much more than we could hope for. I highly recommend this property for all these reasons and take this opportunity to thank the hostess for the exquisite way she treated us! I will be pleased, one day, to meet her in person.

Great location of the B&B di Valle, away from any daily noise. Excellent availability of the owner. Very abundant breakfast with the possibility to taste homemade jams. Good room cleaning. Overall, a very positive judgment.
