The Black Sheep was born from a meticulous renovation of a classic florentine apartment through modern methods. With the re-interpretation of objects of the past it has been given an unconventional feel with great attention to detail and functionality in order to welcome you in an intimate and elegant atmosphere. Our B&B is ideal for those who like to feel like at home whilst traveling.

Each bedroom has a private bathroom, is well lit and accessorised with all the modern comforts: Smart TV 50", WiFi, tea and coffee facilities, a mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks, toilettries and a hairdryer. This is all inclusive.

In the lounge there is a PC with internet connection at your disposal, a Smart TV 50" and a selection of books and magazines in italian and english together with a smile from the staff!

Spacious room, near tourist attractions and the train and bus stations. Fully furnished and equipped with all kitchen appliances, tools, and cleaning products. The owner kept an excellent supply of water, coffee, tea, cakes, bread, eggs, jam, milk, yogurt, and juice. There was an ample supply of soap, shampoo, and fresh towels. The place was very clean. The owner, Federico, is a young man with a charming smile who was easily reachable by WhatsApp and provided us with a list of places to visit and dine. We really felt at home. The only small problem was that it is on the third floor and there was no lift. But Federico helped us with the luggage at both check-in and check-out. I highly recommend it.

The Black Sheep is an amazing place to stay at. First, the location is steps away from the train station, making it so convenient for traveling in or if you have day trips planned. The host, Federico, is incredibly welcoming. When I arrived, he spent 10 mins plotting his favorite places on a map for me. He picks up fresh pastries and sandwiches for breakfast and makes a mean cappuccino. The rooms felt homey and very clean. \n\nYou'll see this in all the reviews but there are 3-4 flights of stairs to get to the rooms. Federico is great about helping with luggage upon check in and check out, and they're not that bad when you're not carrying luggage.

Loved this place for its convenience and comfort, but Federico was truly the highlight! We had tasty breakfasts and great conversations as he whipped up our cappuccinos! He gave us good recommendations, leading us to the best focaccia sandwiches we have ever had. An absolute 10!

Things felt a little chaotic with the host living so far away in Empoli. The 8:30 AM breakfast didn't work out for us, a little too late. One time the host didn't come in for breakfast, and one time he was very late. Also, we were surprised that the host was not living on-site; perhaps that is normal in Italy. But it would not be a good situation for a female traveling by herself. \n\nOverall, the host was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent.

Perfect solution for a stay in Florence. Repay the flights of stairs when arriving at the third floor of this historic building. Already recommended to friends and family, because the environment is super cozy and the owners are equally welcoming. The atmosphere you breathe is really nice. Cross the street from the station and you're there. Via della Scala runs alongside Piazza S. Maria Novella, no need to walk through the chaos of the station. Walk along the street, with beautiful buildings and many little bars, and you'll find yourself in Piazza S. Maria Novella and from there to S. Maria in Fiore or Piazza Signoria or along the Arno River only takes a few minutes. Great location, and you'll feel really comfortable (even rest is assured). We stayed in the triple room at the end of May. Thank you Federico, Michele, and Sarah, bye!

The Black Sheep is a gem right in the heart of Florence. My friend and I were extremely lucky that we took a chance to stay at this place. B&B very close to Santa Maria Novella train station and a short walk from the city center. Federico was very welcoming even though we arrived outside the indicated check-in time and available to provide us with directions to places to dine and have lunch. His father and mother were very nice preparing breakfast with very fresh croissants and offering jam of their own production and fruit from their field. Room with air conditioning, clean and equipped with every comfort. Good value for money. If we were to return to Florence we would not hesitate to choose again the B&B The Black Sheep of Federico because it feels like being at home. Congratulations!

Frederico was a fantastic host who went out of his way to make my wife and me feel comfortable. He took the train to come bring us fresh croissants every day for breakfast, was extremely generous with his recommendations and is overall an exceptionally charming individual. My friend and I spent three splendid days in Florence, which wouldn't have been so beautiful without the presence of The Black Sheep and the manager. The B&B is located just a few steps from Santa Maria Novella station and the place for morning breakfast: we appreciated the advantageous location, connected to the most interesting cultural centers of the city. The services offered were really pleasant and all well taken care of. Federico was very kind and courteous from the beginning, and besides seeming very nice, he was attentive to providing for our needs, getting in touch with us to know how the stay was going and showing interest in possible requests aimed at improving it. The only criticism could be directed at the wi-fi connection, given the poor signal recorded in the room: but for those interested in spending most of the day around Florence or simply looking for the convenience of the B&B's opening room (where, among the various comforts, it seemed to us that the structure's connection worked better), it shouldn't be a drama. We will definitely come back.

In fact, we must compliment the manager, Mr. Federico, for his continuous and punctual assistance, albeit remotely, due to a small problem, for the cleanliness and for the breakfast vouchers that we could use at a cafe pastry shop near the b&b. We stayed at the B&B on the 18th-20th of October and we really enjoyed it, very clean, abundant breakfast, located 5 minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella Station and very close to the center, extremely helpful managers that make you feel a bit like at home. The rooms, besides being very cute, are particularly quiet, you sleep like "dormice". Highly recommended.

We didn’t actually stay here because of the stairs up to the room. When we told the host the stairs were a problem, he searched for a property in the same area, called and booked the room, negotiated the price down to what he was charging at his property, and carried most of our luggage as he led us a few blocks to the new property and verified a working elevator. It was friendly service above and beyond what we could ever have expected. Great Host!

The property is easy to reach as it is just a few minutes' walk from the S. M. N. train station. The property is beautiful, as is the room: everything is tastefully furnished with a welcoming modern style that makes you feel comfortable. Upon our request, he provided specific breakfast products even though there was some initial confusion about the choice due to a lack of knowledge of the ingredients, but in the end, he was good at meeting our needs. The breakfast consisted of a croissant, quite tasty but unhealthy, I only remember the host being on time for breakfast the first morning, didn’t show up for breakfast the second day without even a phone call to me and it seemed typical of his poor time management to be late for check-out (as he had "kindly" offered to carry my large suitcase down the 4 flights of stairs to the street) he then helped me reach the tram for both of these acts I was very grateful, however his being late "again" caused me to miss my flight by minutes and therefore cost me the same as 3 nights of accommodation at his B&B as I had to pay fees and penalties to re-book a flight and also cost me a day out of my holiday as I couldn’t reach my destination until the following day.

One word to describe this place and the host - WOW! The location was fantastic, minutes from the train station. Excellent instructions on how to get there. We were met by Federico, who is very pleasant, charming, and accommodating. He is very organized, had maps with places to visit and must-sees, or places to eat, circled for us on the map. We had originally booked a room where we had to take stairs to go down to the bathroom, and when he saw how inconvenient it was for two "mature" ladies, he accommodated us in one of the rooms on the main floor that was vacant, with no extra charges to us. They had a menu of what we wanted to order for breakfast the next day and served us delicious pastries with tea/coffee, juice, yogurt. We asked if we could get milk and cereal, and the next day he had that for us on the table. He had a fruit basket with apples, bananas, and oranges that we were told to help ourselves to. There was a fridge in the room, and he provided water, juice, and boxes of snacks, all at no extra cost. Please note that there are three rooms being rented in this B&B, so you are sharing the common areas, living room, and kitchen with other guests. All guests have their own private bathroom. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Florence. Thank you, Federico. We will never forget your hospitality.

We chose this property for the Firenze Rocks event and the manager seemed very friendly and accommodating right from the start. The B&B is in a strategic location, very convenient because it's a 5-minute walk from the train station and close to the city center; the rooms are very nice, beautifully furnished, with an external bathroom but still reserved for guests. However, right from the online booking, the way the situation was handled seemed a bit confusing to us: we booked a double room and then were moved to another one due to overbooking, the manager then apologized including the tourist tax and breakfast in the new booking. Despite having notified our arrival and departure times well in advance, a week before the booking date we were asked again because it was uncertain who would welcome us. On the same day, we were welcomed by another person than agreed, we weren't even given an invoice or receipt for payment, which we had to leave in the room haphazardly, as we never had the opportunity to meet the manager. Last but not least: no breakfast, contrary to what was stated. We remain somewhat perplexed and hope it was just a momentary lapse.

Absolutely a great place to stay. Close to the train station, which was important for us, and not far to walk to everything else when we were not dragging our suitcases. Donatello is a craftsman and artist and has remodeled the rooms perfectly with everything that you need and not a bunch of clutter that you don't. Very comfortable beds & pillows and modern bathroom. He is also a great host who met us for breakfast at our preferred time. Made us fresh espresso and had wonderful assortments of pastries, fruit, and yogurt. He stayed and chatted with us about Florence and what activities we had planned, offering great suggestions about a city he knows very well. Found it on the internet, it immediately showed itself as a young Bed and Breakfast. Confirmation received as soon as seen in person. Very close to the Florence Santa Maria Novella station and a stone's throw from the historic center. The structure is located on the third floor without an elevator but it is not a problem for luggage because the manager will come down to get them. Extremely clean rooms as well as the bathroom. We stayed in the room with an external bathroom but it was not a problem because the atmosphere is so familiar that it does not create discomfort. In the room you will find a fridge with water and drinks, also there are kettles for tea and American coffee. Fantastic breakfast! Donatello will make a good coffee with the coffee maker as well as croissants, milk, yogurt, jam, honey, spreadable cheese. Nice also to have a chat with the manager. Very comfortable bed with double pillows, the room was warm but there is air conditioning available. A computer and free WiFi connection are also available for guests.

The Black Sheep is a great bed & breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay, especially thanks to the manager who was very friendly and helpful in recommending things to do with the respective places to have lunch and/or dinner, then for the location a hundred meters from Santa Maria Novella station (personally crucial) and for the structure where we felt almost at home in terms of comfort. It's about a 10-minute walk from the Florence Cathedral or other nearby attractions. Breakfast is almost better than a hotel as the manager every morning provides you with fresh pastries such as croissants along with other things like fresh fruit, yogurt, milk, orange juice, toast, some cheese, and more. Breakfast is really plentiful and there is absolutely nothing to complain about. I personally recommend this B&B away from the noise but at the same time close to what really matters and convenient to return to your own city.

The owner was very kind and helpful, the room was spacious and welcoming, although a bit dark: even during the day artificial light was necessary. Another aspect was the absence of a wardrobe, replaced by a wall-mounted coat rack and without drawers. I recommend against this B&B for those with reduced mobility because it is located on the third floor without an elevator and the stairs are quite steep. The quality-price ratio is truly excellent!
