Description
Tenuta Sovestro is composed by a typical tuscan farmhouse and two huts; after a careful and scrupulous renovation, it opened in June 2021 by offering the service of B&B with its rooms with bathroom, on the 2 floors of the main house and in one of the two huts.
Outside the structure, the panoramic terrace and the solarium are the ideal place to relax with the view of the green tuscan hills; it is available a small pool that was created from a drinking trough for calves, where you can enjoy a refreshing bath.
At the reception, which is located in the hut next to the entrance, you can also find the direct sale of the products from the farm, such as Vernaccia, Chianti Colli Senesi and extravirgin olive oil.
Breakfast is served at the Restaurant of the adjoining Hotel Sovestro, 50 mt far away and managed by the same family.
While awaiting for the permits to build a new swimming pool at the Tenuta, the guests can use the 2 pools of the same Hotel Sovestro; pool towels are available free of charge, to be returned upon departure; you also find Ristorante da Pode where it's possible to taste the most typical tuscan food, the gym, shuttle service to/from San Gimignano at set times.
A white road called "Via Vecchia" runs alongside the property; it is a branch of via Francigena that in a walk of about 20 minutes with a beautiful view on the famous towers and the surrounding countryside, leads you to the old town of San Gimignano.

Our breakfast is served in the hall of Ristorante da Pode, at the Hotel Sovestro 50 mt from the Tenuta and of the same property. The buffet offers both sweet and savory options, with jams, yogurt, fresh fruit as well as homemade cakes and local products. It is possible to enjoy a nice and relaxing breakfast both inside the restaurant and outside, on the terrace overlooking the surrounding hills.
Restaurant
The restaurant "Da Pode" was established in 1985 in a farmhouse that still maintains the typical characteristics of the Sienese countryside structures. The family-style management is the main focus that characterizes the friendliness of the approach towards customers.
Under the skillful direction of Mrs. LUCIA (assisted by her competent staff), the kitchen offers the best of itself by proposing typical dishes of the Tuscan tradition, revisited in a polite manner without straying from the flavors of the past.
The appetizers can vary from a mix of local cold cuts to all types of bruschetta, fresh salads and crostini, up to more sophisticated dishes such as pheasant or chianina terrine garnished with onion jam, without neglecting any other expressed desire.
Among the first courses, homemade pasta, gnocchi, ravioli or other dishes are highly valued and are expertly combined with wild boar ragout, mushrooms, truffles or saffron. Even the poor Tuscan cuisine is present at certain times with farro soup, ribollita, or even pasta with chickpeas.
For the main courses, the classic Florentine steak cannot be missed, carefully provided by our trusted butcher. Grilled free-range chicken, steak with truffle, and meat carpaccio represent the daily menu.
For those who love the flavors of the past and to keep faith with what has now become our tradition, we propose tripe (expertly prepared in the old earthenware pot), Livorno style codfish or chicken stew in our own way.
In the autumn period, porcini mushrooms find their maximum appreciation treated in every way.
The wine selection is not to be outdone: fully up to what is expected to be found in a geographical area whose winemaking vocation is a source of national pride, starting from our production of Chianti Colli Senesi and Vernaccia di San Gimignano "Tenuta Sovestro".
And to dress it all up, our excellent extra virgin olive oil, obtained by cold pressing.

The Failli family, dedicated for over 30 years to hospitality and restaurant business, wanted to broaden their horizons by buying in 2017 Fattoria Sovestro, that after a careful renovation was called Tenuta Sovestro and starting from June 2021 is ready to welcome you in its rooms with private bathroom, and where you can find the direct sale of the products of the farm, such as wine and olive oil. The mermbers of the Failli family have entrusted the management to the two daughters Alessia and Barbara, who are ready to carry on this new phase of the familiar business, always with the same passion.
