Description

Porto Sole is a small family run B&B on the second floor of a historic building on Via delle Galeazze, number 30.

Our location is a peaceful area in the historic center of Portoferraio, exactly where the body of water that was designed for the trades of the Florentine dè Medici family in the 1500s loses its worldly charm and becomes our sea again.

We wanted to add the pleasure of hospitality beyond stereotypes to the house and its position, which we believe are a breath of beauty between sky and sea. The result is bright rooms with a tailor-made design, overlooking a panorama that enchants both the eyes and the soul, and common spaces to be experienced in an atmosphere of total privacy but with the "luxury" of a family welcome.

Whether it's a vacation or a business trip, Porto Sole B&B will be your point of reference on Elba Island in every season of the year, your home away from home, and a convenient alternative for all independent and slightly unconventional travelers like us.

The breakfast we serve in Porto Sole is an Italian breakfast, not a continental one.

SEASON 2025 IT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE DURING EASTER AND FROM 15 may TO 10 OCTOBER
then select pastry pastries, fruit juice, iced tea, fresh fruit, fresh cereals, some sweets and fresh bread from the bakery, yogurt, jams, honey.

In summer during the rest of the day guests will find iced tea, milk, water, and juice and they can still prepare a good coffee with biscuits and some small sweets (not for a fee).

We are happy to have expanded and isolated the area of ??the house where we prepare and serve breakfast, this has allowed us to offer a space that beyond breakfast hours can also be useful for those who need to work or can study in peace.

Our philosophy is that of a family welcome.

We are not a hotel and we don't want to be.

We are a family In love with Elba but with a passion to travel with family or friends..far and near.

With the passing of the years we realized that our idea of the journey and of being travelers had changed and until a few years ago the choice of "where" to stop was one of many shades.

Now, on the contrary, this "detail" becomes almost essential. In the evening, feel at home where you can indulge in a luxury bed to break the breathless pace of the year and finally treat yourself to the freedom of measured time. Like a nest away from home which delivers emotions to oneself and welcomes and gives you, even for a short time, the things you love to do, reasons to collect new ideas or time to sew together old dreams.

A more modern vision of a trip and the desire to share our love for the island have given life to an old dream.

Porto Sole, although it has no elevator access, is more than just a B&B in Elba and aims to be a really luxurious and comfortable house.

We are in a peaceful area of the historic center of Portoferraio, precisely in Via delle Galeazze where you can also arrive by car. From the rooms, the sea view is enchanting, overlooking the fishing port on clear days, extending westwards to Monte Capanne.

We are just a few minutes away from the arrival port and the beautiful beaches of the Natural Reserve (Le Ghiaie and Le Viste). Underneath the house, you will find all kinds of services and shops, making it ideal for those who do not want to bring a car or for those who want to use it as little as possible.

Shuttle bus stop 50 meters from the house towards the port, towards the main bus station that connects the entire Elba island, and towards other marvelous beaches on the island (Biodola, Viticcio, Seccione, Acquaviva).

Amazing place! Only one piece of advice: inform guests earlier about events that take place near the property,because the noise can be problematic. During our stay there were three concerts each night from 22:00 until midnight right next to the property. We liked them,but not everybody would be happy.

I concerti di cui parla erano organizzati nella piazza Cavour che dista circa 300 mt da noi, siamo in estate e un po' di musica per due ore e mai oltre la mezzanotte non è un evento straordinario tale da informare i clienti. la struttura è dotata di vetri spessi agli infissi e climatizzazione quindi basta chiudere le finestre visto che non sono allestiti proprio di fronte a noi per evitare il fastidio. Ci auguriamo che l'Elba sia stata una piacevole scoperta e di avervi ancora ospiti.

I stayed at B&b Porto Sole for a week with my mom. We were welcomed by the owner Anna, who showed us the room and gave us some information about the island. Ours was a room with a balcony overlooking the Portoferraio harbor, and I must admit that the view was very beautiful and striking! The room and the structure were very nice and decorated with design elements, which give it both an air of refinement and simplicity. In the room, I would recommend adding a full-length mirror because there is only one in the bathroom and also a ventilation valve, as it has no window. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable. As for breakfast, it is held on the top floor of the structure and is taken care of by Mrs. Cristina, who is always available and kind; it would be appreciated to find the same care given to the details and decor also for the breakfast products, including fresh, artisanal, and quality items rather than industrial ones, in addition to the croissants and pastries. A positive aspect is that the kitchen area is always open and you can also go there to prepare a tea or coffee, as well as to put in the fridge what you wish, since there are shelves divided by rooms. The B&b is located in a historic building and there is no elevator, so one must be prepared for the idea of climbing stairs. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Mi preme però precisare due cose che lei ha scritto e che NON corrispondono a verità Noi acquistiamo le paste e i prodotti dolci da una pasticceria locale, non sono usiamo prodotti industriali ad eccezione dei biscotti e delle fette biscottate. Tutto il resto pane incluso è fresco di giornata I nostri bagni sono tutti dotati di areazione, la griglia dell'areazione è sempre in funzione (non a comando) è in alto a fianco della porta del bagno Vi auguriamo un sereno anno.

The room and bathroom were very nicely decorated and luxurious. And the walk-in closet was very handy. The view over the marina and part of the city was superb. Breakfast was also perfect. We did not see the host herself, contact was mostly by telephone. The initial contact by telephone when we arrived was not so friendly (my booking could not be found at first and we were accused that we did not tell the time when we would arrive, which we did several times and also on the day of arrival). There was a slow response or no response at all on our messages through the app.

Chiediamo di saperlo con un buon anticipo per organizzarci perchè se il viaggiatore ci chiama quando è davanti alla porta di casa e noi siamo invece fuori ci dispiace molto . Forse non aveva letto i nostri messaggi o si è dimenticato di rispondere al nostro invito e non è riuscito a farcelo sapere in tempo utile . La ventilazione in bagno è centralizzata e collocata in alto sopra la porta , grazie alla tecnologia si può evitare il fastidioso rumore che fa spesso pensare che esiste , lo specchio invece è all'interno della porta della cabina armadio . Come Le avevo anticipato al telefono durante il vostro soggiorno ovvero subito dopo la vostra partenza avremmo avuto il matrimonio di Margherita che avete conosciuto essendosi occupata della vostra accoglienza , questo è il motivo per cui non siamo riusciti a esserci il giorno della vostra partenza . A beautiful stay at B&B Porto Sole. The quote about the stairs from Pavese immediately makes you understand that this place is extraordinary. The structure is very beautiful and detailed. The sea view room is very spacious, impeccably clean, and the owner's welcome is extremely friendly. B&B Porto Sole, and so it was every day: it brought the sun that flooded the dwelling, exposed all day from morning to sunset, with light, warmth, and unimaginable colors. Vanity room with double exposure and terrace overlooking Porto Mediceo, no. 1. It literally saved our vacation given the schizophrenic weather. We felt welcomed, pampered, safe as at home, projected directly into the life of the marina as if we were in a movie. Breakfast with very fresh pastries, bread, coffee, cappuccino, and juices always consumed on our wonderful terrace, as well as aperitifs and some take-out dinners, fantastic! Anna, the owner, immediately made an effort, considering the long train journey, to help us and make us feel at ease, as only a friend can do, and for this, we thank you very much. And Maddalena who pampered us, even just with a look, every day and met all our small daily needs... thank you... you are magnificent!

Welcomed in a very charming house, our stay at B&B Porto Sole was perfect. The room is cozy and clean, the splendid view of the harbor is the cherry on top. The breakfast is plentiful and varied. Anna (who is also a tour guide) was thorough in giving us all the information, from beaches, to restaurants, to transportation. A splendid stay.

Authentic charm structure, with materials used in the renovation and furnishings that highlight the good taste of the property. Few rooms (ours, very spacious, had a window from which we enjoyed the late evening and awakening with a very romantic view of the marina and, on the evening of August 15th, the fireworks show in an absolutely privileged position), I believe all overlooking Calata Mazzini, furnished in a minimal way (very comfortable bed and mattress, even for me who have back problems) but bright and welcoming. Mrs. Anna, very cordial, was very discreet and, at the same time, present and always, starting from check-in, bearer of valuable advice necessary to experience the island at its best, which I found quite crowded during the August period. Welcome and, I would say, very well organized the refreshment area (also with a minimal design, which I appreciate a lot, but equipped with many high-quality and well-maintained and clean appliances), freely usable (without time constraints) for breakfast and for a quick refreshing pit stop (always available to all guests cold and hot drinks and some snacks and a portion of the fridge to store personal items) and regenerating on return (completely agree, also, with the choice/directive to inhibit the area for the preparation and organization of lunches and dinners, it would become a mess).\n\nA bit tiring, perhaps, the ramps of stairs to climb to reach the rooms, but even I, who am a great lazy person, made it.\n\nIn summary: a hug, Mrs. Anna, and goodbye, hopefully, soon!\n\nPier and Margherita.

The B&B Porto Sole is really a very nice accommodation, we felt very comfortable. The view from the room overlooking the harbor was unique! The room was cleaned daily and Anna is a very warm host. Everything was perfect.

We stayed at this wonderful place after Christmas. Very welcoming, clean, and well-kept. The location is excellent and the view breathtaking! The location is very convenient and strategic with beautiful beaches reachable even on foot. The room was very spacious, with carefully curated decor in every detail (like the rest of the house). The abundant breakfast and dedicated area made our awakening very pleasant. The owner of B&B Porto Sole was very kind and helpful yet reserved. We will definitely return and recommend staying in this corner of paradise on a beautiful island that is Elba.

Spectacular location overlooking the harbour of Portoferraio Elba. Large, bright, airy room with balcony. Tastefully restored. Breakfast had everything you could wish for. Host was charming and efficient. Rooms were professionally cleaned daily by smiling Margherita. A happy stay. We will return.

My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights at this very central B&B Porto Sole and we had a great time. The modern and essential style with a touch of Provence, the cleanliness, the change of towels, and the convenience of having everything within walking distance certainly helped make our stay at Elba very pleasant.

I was born in Elba but I was raised far away and I really wanted to come back.\n\nThis B&B is very beautiful, the location is really peaceful although very central, especially in the evening when the road is closed and it turns into a pleasant walk, the rooms are spacious and elegant. Excellent breakfast, an address not to be missed in Elba.

Spectacular stay in this new B&B on the port of Portoferraio. Exceptional view. Convenient shopping and shops. Small restaurants and evening entertainment. All very ok to experience a holiday on the island of Elba a bit off season with all the coves and the most beautiful beaches easily reachable by car.

There are no words to describe the complete satisfaction (mine and my husband's) in staying at this very special structure. It has the charm of authenticity (it is the faithful and challenging recovery of a house carved out of the Medici walls of the port) and furnished with extreme skill by Anna, the owner, with a modern design decor, very comfortable beds and extremely efficient and high-quality bathrooms. And it is precisely the minimalism of the furnishings that highlights even more the spectacular scenario of the ancient harbor on which all the rooms overlook, accompanied by the chatter of the inevitable seagulls. One is enchanted to observe this maritime picture and it is hard to leave! Breakfast is self-service in the well-equipped communal kitchen and if what is left is not enough for someone, they can always find what they prefer nearby. Very well done Anna and compliments for the good taste and discretion. We will definitely come back with our children and grandchildren. Thank you.

A necessary stop due to bad weather (the ships were not leaving) gave us the opportunity to know this place, in our opinion, magnificent. Upon entering, we immediately felt the warmth and atmosphere of a real home. It is new and well furnished, our room had an extraordinary view, warm and very clean, and in the bathroom there was an extra-large shower. We were surprised because we have been visiting Elba for many years and we know its structures quite well; in our opinion, it is a unique place, also for the atmosphere. The hosts were very kind and welcoming.

My husband and I have been visiting the island of Elba for some years now and it is really difficult to find a structure so well-kept in detail and comfortable as B&B Porto Sole. The owners are helpful and very kind, they have taken care of the rooms and common areas in the smallest details. In short, the result is a truly unique accommodation in a delightful location in the historic center of Portoferraio that absolutely deserves a visit. All the rooms also enjoy a spectacular view of the port, what can I say, we hope to be able to return soon.

Simply spectacular. Recently renovated and perfected structure down to the smallest detail, equipped with every necessary comfort. The location is more than strategic, you can reach any place on foot considering that you are in the historic center. The cleanliness is impeccable, and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. Last but not least, the sea view, as soon as you open the window you will have a breathtaking view. Highly recommended.

"Beautiful and romantic stay". The structure of B&B Porto Sole is really beautiful and modern, suitable for young couples or small families. The interiors of the rooms are new and designed with furniture that I personally like a lot. The stay was pleasant and the managers were very friendly and available for any need. Elba Island is wonderful, we would definitely like to come back.

The B&B Porto Sole is fully restored and beautifully renovated with modern rooms and fantastic bathrooms. It is beautifully located in the old town of Porto Ferraio just meters away from the harbour. The rooms on the lower levels have balconies towards the harbour with a great view. All of the rooms have a sea view, nevertheless. It is located in the old part of the city, a grocery store is just across the street and it's not far from any restaurant. The innkeepers David and Anna are really friendly and nice. Overall it was a fantastic place to stay at and I can warmly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Porto Ferraio.
