Description

"Podere Il Pero" is situated in a charming rural area just near the gates of the city. The farmhouse is completely restored by keeping the original style typical of the Senese countryside farms. However, it has all kinds of modern comforts.

Every single room is different from the others, it has its own features as if it would show its own identity. The 4 rooms are furnished in old poor style and the beds are made by wrought iron. Each room has its own name which is linked to old memories.

The names are the following: I Girasoli, Il Granaio, L'Uva Passa, La Loggia.

On the ground floor there is the spacious flat "La Mangiatoia" (cooking area and double bed settee in the living room, bathroom with shower, a double room, central heating and TV). It was completely restored by keeping the original style of the old stable.

"La Mangiatoia", (the Manger) has remained intact preserving a nice trace of the past. It is used now as head of the bed in the double room.

There is not “BREAKFAST Service”.

Fortunately, “Podere Il Pero” is very close to the city centre (1, 5 km only) and so there are BAR, restaurant, Food Store etc. immediately around us (250 m far from us, at the end of our Street). Anyway, Some Guests easily solve it by having breakfast in the bars, patisseries, cafes that are in the nearby and someone used our Terrace/Glass House (in the garden, with coffee machine, kettle, microwave oven etc.), buying food at the shops to have them “self-service breakfast”, like at Home.

The ancient farmhouse of my grandfather, which has seen me grow up playing first and then working. With the renovation, I have tried to preserve the original style and atmosphere while, however, staying updated on the services and accessories necessary for the modern tourist.

As a travel enthusiast, I love exploring new countries and getting to know their populations and cultures. During trips and vacations, I try to understand the needs of the tourist firsthand. My passions are cars and motorcycles, mountains and skiing, sports, and martial arts.

I believe that one of my lucky aspects is having a large green area about 1.5 km from the historic center of Siena and near the main access roads to the city. It is therefore considered a perfect base and starting point for daily tours.

Area Fuori le mura

The position is excellent: it is very close to the city centre, Piazza del Campo and Duomo. You can easily reach the city centre by foot. It takes only 15 minutes. Anyway the bus stop is 150mt. far from the farm.
Podere Il Pero is situated in a strategic geographical area, from which you can easily reach any artistic place, for it is near the motorway to Firenze-San Gimignano-Volterra and to Arezzo-Roma-Tirrenical Litoral.
You can easily reach other interesting areas too, such as Val d'Arbia, Montalcino and Val D'Orcia (Pienza, S. Quirico) along Cassia street and Chianti area (Castellina, Greve, Radda, Gaiole) along Chiantigiana street.
Moreover you can also visit the area of Crete Senesi. If you want to do a shorter trip you can visit Belcaro Castle and Eremo di Lecceto, two interesting areas for artistic and historical reasons. They are on the same way of Podere Il Pero and they are not very far from it.

The B&B Podere il Pero is a truly enchanting accommodation. Its facilities, cleanliness, and location make it a truly spectacular B&B. The room is super comfortable and clean, in addition it has a refrigerator inside. The bathroom is super spacious and comfortable. There is also a nice terrace equipped with a coffee machine and other services that make it very similar to having a coffee or eating something. The host Gianni is an excellent person who takes the necessary time to give you the best advice and directions in terms of points of interest to make it much easier for you to visit the city of Siena and Tuscany. Thank you. A special mention for the cleaning lady, she is truly an artist in her profession. Congratulations! Thank you.

Giovanni is a great host. The original property has been thoughtfully restored. The whole experience was fantastic. Giovanni and his family are gracious hosts who made our visit very memorable. We used the property as a base to visit the Tuscan region. We could not recommend it more.

Very beautiful place. Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated. You have the experience of traditional Siena countryside living, yet it is close to the city center. Plenty of parking space available. The owner Gianni is super nice and helpful.

If you want a place to be a base to discover Tuscany, Podere Il Pero is the perfect one! Located in Siena, just outside of the historic center, you will find peace and beauty in Gianni's jewel! He and his parents made our stay an unforgettable one. The place is awesome, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The breakfast delicious, including Gianni's mother's homemade delights! Will go back for sure!

I have made 5 trips to Tuscany. This B&B is one of the best I have visited. Close to the center, this property has a lot of charm and is surrounded by greenery. The cleanliness was impeccable, the breakfast rich, the owner and his family were very friendly and very helpful. I can only recommend this B&B.\n\nOn my next visit to Siena I already know where I will stay.

Lovely place with a beautiful view. Located a few steps from the center, reachable on foot or by car (free parking near Porta Fontebranda). The owner of the property welcomed us warmly and we would have stayed to talk to him for the entire stay, telling us the history of the city and its Palio.

A perfect choice to visit a city like Siena! A renovated farmhouse surrounded by greenery just a few minutes by car from the city center. Perfect in every detail and situated in a very quiet place, it is truly pleasant to return there at the end of the day because the constant presence of Gianni and his very kind and nice parents is a valid support for the tired and hungry tourist! The breakfast is rich and varied, taken care of in every detail. Il Pero will always be our landing point when we return to visit this wonderful region.
