Montechiari in Chianti

Montechiari is an old manor House now restored maintaining the typical tuscan style, located in the heart of Tuscany countryside and in the middle between Florence (25 KM) and Siena (35 KM).

We are only 800 meters from the famous Piazza di Greve, 200 meters from both the bus stop (SITA) to Florence and the swimming pool and related sports facilities (tennis and football in synthetic grass). A short walk away you have the opportunity to rent bikes and scooters to explore the surroundings independently or with a guide. At 500 meters you can visit one of the most provided wine bars of Chianti and its wine Museum with an Enobiblioteca with works from 1700, 1800 and 1900, permanent exhibition of collectible corkscrew, possibilities to taste more than 140 types of wines, oils, wine and cured meats, projections of themed films and free consultation of the database "Lee del Chianti".

The privileged location allows you to reach in a short time all the most characteristic Tuscan villages and cities: Montefioralle, Badia a Passignano, Panzano, Radda, Castellina, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano, Volterra, Colle Val d'Elsa...From here you can also visit all the castles and the most famous Villas of Chianti: Verrazzano (here lived Giovanni who crossed the Atlantic discovered the Bay of New York), Vicchiomaggio, Vignamaggio (where he is said to have lived the Mona Lisa painted by Leonardo da Vinci), Meleto, Brolio, all the most famous wine and oil producers of the famous Chianti Classico and its Farms. In addition, you can easily drive to the other artistic cities of Tuscany: in addition to of course Florence and Siena also Pisa, Lucca, Pistoia..

We will also be happy to organize tastings on the vineyards in the area, some within walking distance and others by car: you only need to inform us in advance for making a reservation.

The three rooms available to our guests are large, furnished in typical Tuscan style and warm pastel colors and each with en-suite bathrooms with shower. Two rooms can become interconnected thanks to a double internal door and accommodate up to a total of 5/6 people (with a sofa convertible to bunk bed), have the TV (with only Italian channels), coffee table, closet, comfortable chairs, refrigerator, kettle, coffee machine, microwave and toaster. All rooms have central heating. We also have a fully equipped kitchen with the possibility of renting an apartment from 2/3 to 4/6 people. We provide for both bedding and bathing. We have a free Wi-Fi connection.

Upon returning from your excursions and hikes you can relax on the terrace or in the garden overlooking the hills of Chianti. Possibility to cook something in our barbecue.

Breakfast is self catering: this means that you will find everything you need in the room to prepare it in full autonomy and then decide to have it in the room, in our terrace or in the garden. You will find ham, salami and cheese as well as classic sweet products (bread, dessert, butter, milk, jams and spread chocolate, sweet and wholegrain croissants, white and wholemeal biscuit slices, corn flakes, muesli with fruit, yogurt, fruit juices and water). You can also make coffee, hot chocolate, tea and infusions.

We also have a self-service honesty bar with good Chianti wine, alcolics, aperitifs, juices, drinks and snacks. You can prepare a simple drink to be eaten then on the terrace.
