In full historical center, near the Duomo (Cathedral), Locanda Orchidea makes you feel right at home welcoming you in the comfortable rooms of a famous historical building of the twelfth century, the Donati Tower, birthplace of Gemma Donati, the wife of the highest poet Dante Alighieri.

I have truly enjoyed my stay at Locanda Orchidea, in room 1. Luciano has been kind and welcoming. The Bnb is clean, has a hot shower, the bed is comfortable, and the AC is functioning. The room is much bigger than expected. The location is very good and safe; I was running late for my Uffizi timeslot but it only took 5 minutes when I walked quickly. To and fro the SMN station or piazza were also a breeze. This is my first time booking through bed-and-breakfast.it hence I was worried about the communication, but Luciano was quick in addressing via email. Will definitely stay again. Thank you for hosting me.

The only negative point is that our room faced the street and it's very noisy even with the windows closed. Otherwise everything else is perfect (cleanliness, bedding, breakfast, location, possibility to leave luggage).

Great structure full of charm and history, it feels like reliving in the Florence of the Renaissance. Harmony and cordiality distinguish the always available staff. Its central location allows you to reach all the monuments and museums easily on foot. Highly recommended for a great vacation.

I absolutely loved my stay at Locanda Orchidea Florence. The host, Luciano, was a delight. He was so helpful from the initial reservation all the way through to calling a taxi for me during checkout. The building is historic and charming, yet still has a small elevator, which was vital for me with a knee injury. The room was lovely and extremely clean! The location is great. It's less than a 10-minute walk to the Duomo, the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, and other attractions. There are many great restaurants just minutes away on foot. The only small downside is that because of its central location, it is a bit noisy at night (lots of people on the street), so I used earplugs. Otherwise, it was perfect.

My husband and I visited this fantastic B&B for a short stay in January. We were surprised at how spacious and quiet the room was, and the bed was really comfy. Breakfast was lovely and prepared with care. You are literally steps from all attractions. Highly recommended.

Central location, a short distance from the station (20 minutes on foot, less by public transport) and 5 minutes on foot from the center. There are 2 supermarkets nearby and also an ATM. The area is very quiet. The room is very clean and soundproof. Abundant breakfast. Very kind manager. Highly recommended.

Just what I was looking for! A very well cared for and safe, centrally located place to stay in Florence. I stayed at Locanda Orchidea from 7 to 9 November, with three other friends and I speak on behalf of all four of us. The property is extremely central, close to all places of interest and the Central Station. The rooms are spacious, well-furnished, and equipped with all comforts; the bathrooms are new and spacious. It is worth noting the presence in the room of a kettle with everything needed to prepare a hot drink if needed. Impeccable cleanliness, helpful and very kind staff attentive to every customer's need. Quality breakfast, with a wide variety of products, all delicious. Furthermore, there is the possibility to use in the common areas, at any time of the day and at a truly negligible price: a fridge to buy water bottles and a coffee machine with available capsules. And many more things to list, such as the presence of an elevator, courtesy slippers, mosquito burner (which was not necessary to use), earplugs (also not necessary), TV in the room, silent air conditioners, etc., etc., that make you feel at home. The quality/price ratio was excellent. Everything was perfect, beyond all our expectations. It will be our reference when we return to Florence and to recommend to friends, relatives, and acquaintances… and to all those who read us!

The hotel is decently priced. It's located near a bar neighborhood, but they have used double-layer glass for noise cancellation. The breakfast provided is simple and decent. However, the Wi-Fi on the 3rd floor needs to be improved.

Nice accommodation in a historical building. The room was spacious and with many comforts. There was a refrigerator outside in a communal room where you could buy a bottle of water for 50 cents. This was extremely handy for us, visiting Florence in July when the weather was extremely hot.

My daughter and I spent 13 wonderful days at Locanda Orchidea. This was my second visit and everything was still perfect: the rooms were beautiful and always impeccable, the service was perfect, the breakfast was ultra abundant and delicious. Our room was large and spacious. The bathroom was very clean and the cleaning staff cleaned the room each day. The host was very kind and accommodating! We loved the location and will be coming back here if we travel again to Florence! I would highly recommend this place! It’s no 5 star hotel, but it is perfect for a few days in Florence.

Great accommodation, ideally located in the city center and extremely clean. Charming building. Luciano welcomed us very well and took care of booking our taxi for the return to the airport. \nBasic but complete breakfast, could be improved. \nA bit noisy at night with some bars nearby. \n\nWe will return there on our next stay in Florence!

Superbly located, very comfortable with excellent facilities and a great breakfast buffet, this provided a great location for our stay at Locanda Orchidea in Florence/Firenze. Locanda Orchidea is a great place to stay. We really enjoyed the location as it was close enough to walk to all the major sights yet far enough from the center to get away from the crowds. Our host was extremely helpful. The rooms were a good size and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

What can I add if not that everything went very well? Mr. Luciano is an extremely kind and ultra-helpful person; the property is in an excellent location, practically a comfortable 10-minute walk and you are already at the Duomo; everything is extremely clean and always in order. Perhaps something more could be added to the breakfast selection, but it's delicious as it is. A reference point for all the times we will return to Florence.

I gave all very high ratings because Locanda Orchidea is simply fabulous in everything, managed very well by Mr. Luciano. The rooms are just as seen on the websites: spacious and bright. The booking was made well in advance and therefore the excellent value for money. Located in the heart of the historic village: you can easily walk around Florence. Highly recommended, of course.

We stayed at Locanda Orchidea for two nights. The location is excellent as it is well connected both to tour the city center and for nightlife. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the owner, who immediately talked to us about the available services and showed us our room. As for the latter, we liked it very much as we found it very spacious and with good Florentine-style furniture; the only flaws we found were the pillows too soft, therefore lacking thickness and uncomfortable, the towel rack, as it was rusty, and the plastic soap holder that had a crack, small details that can be improved. Our stay also included a buffet breakfast, which we found very rich and varied. In conclusion, we highly recommend staying at Locanda Orchidea for both the strategic location and the treatment from the owners, and above all for the value for money.

Cozy structure. Large and clean room. The b&b is a stone's throw from the center of Florence. Easily reachable on foot from Santa Maria Novella train station. Very kind and helpful staff. If I were to return to Florence, I will definitely consider Locanda Orchidea for my stay.

We had an all around excellent stay at Locanda Orchidea. Our room was spacious, quiet, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, everything very fresh and nicely presented, as well as kept clean and hygienic. Our host as well as the cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, walking distance to all the major attractions and with plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. We would definitely stay here again should we return to Florence.

Good location, good place, nice people. Easy check-in and check out, including late check-in. Isolation in the rooms is not the best but for a short stay is fine. Super recommended place, only not recommended for highly dust allergic people.

My friend and I had a great time, Luciano is a helpful, kind, and very friendly manager. The building is located in a central area close to everything, from restaurants and pubs downstairs to the most famous places in the city like Santa Maria del Fiore or the Uffizi. The rooms were clean, with a TV, air conditioning, safe, wardrobe, kettle + tea, private bathroom with toilet, bidet, and shower. The rooms were cleaned daily. For a small price, there were cool drinks and coffee daily. There is an elevator. The breakfast was good, but with a bit limited choice. However, totally sufficient.

Great location, 5 minutes walk from the Duomo and Piazza Signoria. Only 15 minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella station. Host super helpful and excellent cleanliness, with daily linen change and sanitization. The internal courtyard is also very beautiful and the building is very old (although renovated). Locanda Orchidea is in a great location for walking in Florence. We had no problem finding our way around to and from the location. There are plenty of restaurants tucked away in the streets surrounding it, and you will have no problem finding anything you came to see. Luciano is a great manager who communicates well with guests and can be seen throughout the day helping others and clearing tables at breakfast. He helped us from check-in to check-out and was very patient with all our questions. The room was cleaned very well and smelled wonderful whenever we returned. We would definitely come back if visiting Florence.

Simply a wonderful discovery! Close to all the points of interest in Florence, literally in the heart of the city but at the same time 10 minutes walk from the station. We stayed for 2 nights at this Locanda Orchidea and we highly recommend it. The location is central, all the tourist attractions and even the train station are within walking distance. Step out the door and Florence is around you. The room was clean and comfortable, with a private bathroom. The breakfast was plentiful and varied, both sweet and savory. The location is perfect, away from the tourist crowds but very close to the Duomo, the center, and all the attractions that the city offers. I wouldn't know what else to add to the numerous positive reviews already published by previous users. If I could also give praise to the scores I have expressed (all 10), I would have definitely done so. I only add my personal opinion: there are many structures located favorably for visiting Florence, and then what makes the difference is the professionalism, competence, courtesy, and kindness of Mr. Luciano which I believe is rarely found in other cases. Thank you again for everything and I hope to see you soon.

This property deserves top marks all around. Starting from the availability and kindness of Mr. Luciano, the breakfast excellent and more than abundant with a wide range of choices. Clean and fragrant room. Extremely central location with a wide range of restaurants/trattorias all nearby. It will be my point of reference every time I pass through Florence.

Un B&B che sorge nel palazzo della famiglia Donati, atmosfera tradizionale, signorile ma davvero accogliente. Tanto quanto l'oste che ci ha accolti con tutta la disponibilità del mondo fornendoci sin dalla prenotazione utilissime informazioni per visitare al meglio la città e dandoci ulteriori dritte al nostro arrivo. La struttura, disposta su più piani, risulta pulita, comoda e in una posizione stupenda per visitare il centro storico, essendo a soli 5 minuti (massimi) a piedi dal Duomo. Dotata di numerosi servizi (wifi, bollitore in camera, macchinetta del caffè e acqua nelle aree comuni, riscaldamento/condizionamento, ascensore...), quando dovrò tornare a Firenze non avrò alcun motivo per cercare un altro luogo in cui pernottare.

A real pleasure to stay at Locanda Orchidea! It has been recently renovated and is beautiful and comfortable while still retaining the charm of an old palazzo - large rooms, high ceilings, classic style furniture. The breakfast buffet was perfect, offering a range of fresh, delicious choices. The location is outstanding and the host, Luciano, is extremely thoughtful and nice. There is nothing to fault. We look forward to returning.

La struttura è centralissima. Il quid in più è dovuto alla tecnologia per entrare nella struttura e la simpatia del gestore. Persona presente, ma discreta e con una cultura della vita fiorentina che permette di allietare gli ospiti con aneddoti. L'ambiente è molto pulito e con i comfort necessari.

Siamo stati un fine settimana in questa splendida città. Il signor Luciano è stato disponibile in tutto e per tutto, la struttura e sito a due passi dal centro e della stazione. La struttura è molto accogliente, la colazione abbondante servita in una sala dedicata. La camera era molto spaziosa, cosi come il bagno. Ritorneremo volentieri in questa splendida città.

La struttura si trova in una zona strategica, in pieno centro città e a pochi minuti dalla stazione di SMN. La camera nella quale abbiamo dormito era molto spaziosa, così come il bagno. La colazione molto ricca era servita in una sala dedicata dove il gestore si prendeva cura di noi con estrema gentilezza. Ritorneremo senz'altro perché siamo tornati a casa con un bellissimo ricordo. Posizione ottima in un bellissimo palazzo d'epoca. La camera matrimoniale era molto spaziosa, pulita e confortevole; inoltre le finestre affacciavano sul cortile interno, quindi non abbiamo avuto problemi di rumori durante la notte. Bagno privato in camera, pulito e funzionale. Il Sig. Luciano, il proprietario, è stato molto gentile e disponibile. Rapporto qualità/prezzo pienamente positivo, considerato soprattutto il periodo e la zona della città. L'unico appunto che potrei fare riguarda la colazione, un po' limitata per chi come me soffre di celiachia. Potrebbe essere un valore aggiunto dotarsi all'occorrenza di prodotti senza glutine (anche industriali) per i clienti celiaci. Nel complesso il soggiorno è stato molto piacevole. Struttura decisamente consigliata.
