Description

On a gentle hill covered with olive trees, overlooking the city of Lucca, stands the church of Sant'Andrea, an ancient Romanesque parish built in the 12th century along the historic Via Francigena.

The Bed and Breakfast La Pieve di Sant'Andrea welcomes its guests in spacious and elegant rooms that have been renovated and furnished while maintaining the charm of the centuries-old building. The antique style blends with the modern comforts, the warm welcome of a family, and the standards of a first-class hotel.

There are three double or triple bedrooms, furnished with antique and precious furniture. Breakfast is served in the large living room or, in the summer, on the panoramic veranda overlooking Lucca.

The marble bathrooms with shower or bathtub are adjacent to the rooms. Upon request, the hostess offers cooking classes on the Lucchese and Tuscan cuisine.

For lovers of outdoor activities, there is the possibility of pleasant excursions in the green hills of Lucca. Our olive grove, made up of about two hundred centuries-old trees, hosts a fenced oasis where small farm animals live together.

Very beautiful and well-kept structure in a historic residence. The exterior is very well cared for and also inside everything is very well cared for and clean. Giorgio and Elisabetta are two splendid hosts! The property is magical and conveniently located to all the beauty of Tuscany. Their strong point is the breakfast: better than a 5-star hotel! Lovely stay. Not only for the beauty of the place, a historic residence on the hills of Lucca, comfortable environment, tastefully furnished and cared for in every detail, but also and above all for the extraordinary kindness and hospitality of the owners Giorgio and Elisabetta: it is they who make this place truly special. They welcomed us with sympathy, pampered and surrounded with cares, they are two exceptional people who immediately see that they put love into what they do and we are happy to have met them. Rich and delicious breakfast with outstanding homemade cakes by the lady! Three days spent as in another dimension, surrounded only by beautiful things, an experience absolutely to be repeated, thank you very much for everything, we will be back soon! I stayed one night with my family in a quadruple room. Great choice if you are in the vicinity of Lucca. Friendly and helpful staff, top breakfast. A tip: use mosquito repellents due to the lush greenery around!

La Pieve di Sant'Andrea is a beautiful home set in a peaceful setting. It was close enough to the city center of Lucca to easily drive there, but away from the traffic and crowds. I enjoyed sitting on the patio and breathing in the clean air. Georgio and Elisabetta are fabulous hosts, seeing to our every need. The breakfast was bountiful and delicious and they even gave us ‘doggie bags’ for what we couldn’t eat.

Wonderful stay with Giorgio and his wife Elisabetta at La Pieve di Sant'Andrea. Giorgio could not have been more charming and helpful while in the Lucca area. Very clean and well set up. Stayed with another couple and shared a very nice bathroom.

The structure is fascinating to say the least. An old canonical house clinging to the side of the hill towards the old Sarzanese road, surrounded by greenery, a stone's throw from Lucca. The renovation was carried out with taste and Giorgio is a kind and caring host. Abundant and well-assorted breakfast. Among the various merits, I feel like including two vaguely critical notes: Large private bathroom but unfortunately at the end of the corridor with obligatory passage alongside the living room/breakfast room. Motorway section a few hundred meters away with consequent noise pollution. However, apart from that, I would gladly return to have a chat with Giorgio.

Amazing place to stay. Very clean with delicious homemade breakfasts, plentiful enough to take some as lunch with you for the day. Homemade pies every morning. The owners are super nice and make you feel welcome and comfortable every step of the way. The views from the villa are breathtaking. If I ever come back to Tuscany, I would love to stay in the same place. Kids friendly.

Highly recommended B&B. Rooms furnished with taste, excellent cleanliness, exceptional location, superb breakfast all made by the landlady. La Pieve di Sant'Andrea is enchanting. Elisabeth and Giorgio are thoughtful and warm hosts, they will introduce you to Tuscan culture and share their life project around the restoration of this ancient convent. Both of them communicate in French (Elisabeth lived in France) and can guide you in discovering the splendors of Tuscany. Breakfast is delightful: among other things, Elisabeth prepares delicious cakes accompanied by fresh fruit. This couple is deeply endearing for their generosity and hospitality. You feel at home in this place where we will certainly return.

I stayed for two nights, with my wife, in this splendid B&B, managing to fully appreciate the wonderful hospitality of Giorgio and Elisabetta, perfect hosts, and the beautiful atmosphere surrounding the property. Spacious and comfortable rooms, bathroom outside the room, very clean and functional. Very rich breakfast, varied with quality sweet and savory items. We will definitely come back.
