Now transformed into a cozy bed and breakfast, the establishment beautifully retains the allure of its history, skillfully blending authenticity with modern comforts.
Five tastefully furnished rooms bear the names of the women from the original family and offer a private bathroom, air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, and independent heating.

My name is Cinzia and since 2000 I’ve been running La Casa dei Carrai, a B&B born from my family home, built in the late 1800s with local tuff stone on land that once belonged to the Orsini Park of Pitigliano. For generations, my family built carts here: the workshop was the heart of work and daily life. I wanted to preserve its spirit by turning it into a welcoming place for those visiting the Tuscan Maremma, without changing its soul. I kept the original name — the one used by the village elders — and each room carries a piece of our story: I’ve named them after the women in my family.
Today I run La Casa dei Carrai together with my daughters, Livia and Francesca, with the same warmth that has always defined us.
We offer spacious, home-like rooms, a fully equipped kitchen for guests, a comfortable living room, and a large garden. Breakfasts, homemade with typical local products, are served in the lounge — but guests are welcome to enjoy them in the garden if they prefer.
Guests often tell me they feel at home here — and that’s exactly what I hope for.
