Il Borghetto e la Casina in Florence is situated in a quiet scenic area in the Rifredi neighbourhood, near Santa Marta, Poggetto, in the vicinity of the main hospitals in town: Careggi, CTO, Meyer, Villa Ulivella, Villa dei Glicini, Monna Tessa, Villa delle Rose, and many other Clinics.
In the late 1700s, the building was a farm belonging to Villa Granduchessa, among whose owners were one of Napoleon's brothers and one of the last Tuscany's Grand Dukes. Here past and present blend, offering unique and fascinating experiences.
Around here our guests can find many interesting historical and artistic monuments, as well as tennis courts, gyms and swimming pools, restaurants and cafés, cinemas and theatres. In all rooms there is a folder with practical info and suggestions to enjoy at best this area and the city.
This is the perfect place for families, businesspeople, lovers, and relax-seekers.
Almost all rooms have a private bathroom, a kettle, a TV and free wi-fi. There are mosquito nets on all windows. All rooms except two have air conditioning.
Some rooms have access to a kitchen (exclusive or communal), and all guests are always welcome in the garden.
The guests of two rooms have access to a washing machine: every cycle costs 5€.
You can also park your car in the garden: it costs 10€ per night.
Pets are welcome, provided that they can socialize with the resident dogs and cats, and that their owners are clean and responsible, don't leave their pets home alone.
At Borghetto we can speak English and Danish, and with some effort we might be able to communicate also in German, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

Stay of two nights for Firenze Rocks. Mrs. Isabella was so kind that she came to pick us up at the station to avoid the steep walk, which can be a bit challenging when it is very hot, but in any case very picturesque, just like the entire location, with an inner courtyard that is both bucolic and fairy-like, where one forgets they are in the city. The room was well-kept and welcoming, and the bed was very comfortable. I will definitely return.

The property is located in a quiet area, from where you can reach the tram stop in a few minutes on foot, or otherwise the bus line passes nearby. Mrs. Isabella is very kind and gave us great advice, the room is spacious and clean. Highly recommended.

The apartment has everything you need. The kitchenette is equipped. The proximity to the Meyer children's hospital and the airport makes this accommodation the perfect place for those of us who had this need. Mrs. Isabella is truly a special, kind, and always present person.

The room was dirty, dusty, and infested with ants. The manager had the brilliant idea of leaving a note on the desk stating that ants are welcome guests and part of nature. Too bad their habitat is outside the room, not inside. Access to the room from the public road, which is narrow and one-way, is through a gate that does not have automatic opening. Therefore, one has to leave the car on the narrow road, open the gate, make several maneuvers to enter, and then return to close it. This is very inconvenient, especially when it rains. I do not recommend it. In response to your reply: Dear Madam, I thank you for your long and detailed reply to my review, which allows me to clarify a few points: 1. The arrival time: I had already informed you the day before that I would be arriving around 12:00 because my husband needed to go to the hospital. The early check-in time was therefore known. 2. The gate: It is not my responsibility to notice whether the gate is old or automatic, but it is your responsibility as a manager to inform that the entrance might be problematic for vehicles of a certain size. If a larger car than mine had been parked inside, access would have been impossible. 3. The ants: I also live in the countryside, and despite cooking and having lunch at home, I do not have infestation problems. During my stay, I neither cooked nor ate in the room, limiting myself to drinking water. Additionally, I did not leave garbage bags outside the gate: what you saw was not mine, and I invite you to check better before making assumptions. 4. General conditions: If the room had been cleaned upon my arrival, there would have been no need to remedy the situation later. This detail is not a matter of timing but of hospitality. Lastly, my review was not a personal attack but a sincere account of my experience, which I believe can help other guests evaluate if your establishment is suitable for their needs. Innanzitutto, è arrivata quattro ore prima dell'orario del check-in: se mi avesse mostrato la sporcizia e la polvere in camera, avrei potuto rimediare molto prima che Lei tornasse dal ristorante. Al Suo rientro stavo pulendo proprio l’ingresso e il corridoio: ci siamo salutate, mi ha chiesto di abbassare il riscaldamento e la password del wifi; perché non mi ha detto che la camera era sporca? Dato che si è fermata qui tre giorni, quantomeno era accogliente, la camera. Per quanto riguarda le formiche, se tornasse (ma non succederà), La inviterei a leggere con attenzione il quadretto sul tavolo, dove invito a non mangiare in camera per non attirare le formiche, dato che molti ospiti e visitatori (fra cui Suo marito) frequentano i vicini ospedali: ahimé, siamo in campagna! e io vorrei non dover utilizzare veleni per mantenere le camere accessibili anche a chi è gravemente malato. Lo scrivo sul sito, sui social, e nelle camere. Purtroppo alcuni ospiti pretendono di mangiare in camera e di non attirare formiche; io posso solo – dopo il vostro check-out - spruzzare veleni. Nella Sua recensione dice che l’accesso alla camera è “dalla via pubblica”: sarebbe bello se fosse mia, ma Via dei Cappuccini è pubblica, non posso farci niente; tuttavia sarei curiosa di sapere dove ha letto nel mio annuncio che è una via privata. The structure and the owner Isabella are both fantastic! The room is clean and equipped with everything you need, including a small handmade eco-friendly gift! The property is located just outside the historic center of Florence, excellently served by public transport and immersed in greenery, ideal after intense days in the Tuscan capital. A beautiful accommodation in a quiet area (Rifredi) slightly outside the center, but easily reachable in half an hour from the central station by tram and on foot. Isabella, the owner, and Maggie, the dog, welcomed and assisted us very kindly. We received many great tips. I can only recommend the accommodation. Thank you for the pleasant stay!

The evaluation can only be positive, indeed very positive! The kindness of Mrs. Isabella, the beautiful location, the welcoming rooms have contributed to making the short stay very pleasant. For breakfast, although not expected, we found a snack and the possibility to also prepare tea and herbal teas. I thank once again Mrs. Isabella for her courtesy and hospitality.

The accommodation is located 3 km from the city center but compensates for that distance with its beautiful layout and personal touch. The house and garden are amazing and it's absolutely quiet at night. The owner was very welcoming and the room was comfortable and clean. Sadly, breakfast was not included but on the way to the city center there are multiple bakeries and bars to have a typical Italian breakfast.

dear Christina, thank you for this nice review!! One of the differences between a Tourist Rental and aB&B is that Tourist Rentals are not allowed to serve breakfast to their guests... On the other hand, only my guests can have breakfast for a special price at a nearby café! :D

An oasis in the bustling city of Florence. Thank you Isabel for the hospitality. The accommodation is located slightly outside the city center. However, Isabel provided us with great restaurant recommendations in the neighborhood.

There are no real breakfasts but tea available and access to a kitchen, equipped with a refrigerator. Isabella is a perfect host: caring, kind, it's easy to communicate with her. The garden is large and pleasant. The house is very pleasant. I hope to come back one day!

A very pleasant and discreet accommodation, also rare in a city the size of Florence, as it is a property with a large courtyard and an equally vast and beautiful garden. The location is not central but still close to the historic center; moreover, this is a strength because the area is extremely quiet and restful.

Short but pleasant stay for the welcome. The structure is located in a very beautiful and quiet area of Florence. With the tram in less than half an hour you can reach the center. Mrs. Isabella manages the welcome with kindness and cordiality, very helpful to meet any requests, and attentive to details. The room is very pretty and well-kept. Excellent for cleanliness. I recommend the place especially to those looking to reconcile the chaos of Florentine tourism with a small oasis of tranquility.

I had a wonderful time staying at Il Borghetto and La Casina. It is such a beautiful property and the owner, Isabella, is so kind and helpful! Throughout my stay, she provided great recommendations for restaurants and things to do, and went out of her way to make sure I had a good stay. The animals on the property are also super friendly and adorable.

Recommended stay for the kindness of Isabella and the excellent value for money. Suitable for getting away from the heat and crowding of the center of Florence: the secluded location, but easily reachable by car or public transport, can therefore be a strength. The Jolly room was small, but well cared for and furnished. The presence of a beautiful garden and the friendly animals is worth the visit. Thanks again Isabella, Arianna and Adele.

I stayed at this property during the WHO concert at Firenze Rocks. The property is in a very beautiful, quiet location and relatively close to the center of Florence. It has a beautiful garden and parking availability. Everything is very well-kept and clean. The owner is very kind and also provides many indications on places to see, even unusual and less touristy ones. During peak season, it is advisable to stay for more than one night to avoid the surcharge applied for a single night.

Soprattutto, mi dispiace non aver potuto rimediare a ciò che sarebbe stato rimediabile, cioè la pulizia: ci siamo incontrate e sentite spesso, dunque bastava che mi dicessi qualcosa e avrei provveduto immediatamente. Per legge una locazione turistica non prevede il servizio di pulizia durante il soggiorno degli stessi ospiti. Ti ringrazio per darmi l'opportunità di ricordare un'altra differenza fondamentale fra B&B e locazione turistica, cioè che alle locazioni turistiche non è permesso fornire NIENTE di commestibile. Nella scheda descrittiva della mia struttura è detto chiaramente: "il Borghetto e la Casina è una locazione turistica, dunque non abbiamo il permesso di servire la colazione". Mi dispiace anche aver ricevuto un giudizio negativo per quanto riguarda la posizione: nella descrizione dico che "il Borghetto e la Casina si trova in una zona perfetta per visitare Firenze o trattenersi in città per motivi di lavoro o di salute: più sotto alcune distanze da alcuni luoghi e servizi", ed elenco le distanze di ben 19 luoghi fra cui aeroporto, stazioni di treni e bus, autostrada, bar, ristoranti e musei. Del resto volendo dormire vicini all'ospedale, era sottinteso che sareste stati lontani (4km) dal centro... Grazie comunque per aver soggiornato da noi, un cordiale saluto, isabella

It was a beautiful stay at this cozy house, the garden was simply magic. The house is close to the tramvia which allows to be in the city center in 10 minutes. It is also close to a very good Italian restaurant, to the supermarket, etc. It is surrounded by peace, nature and silence, such a beautiful place. The owner was gentle and available for our requests. I loved it. Very recommended! I will be back! Thank you Isabella.

Excellent structure for us very convenient as it is close to the Meyer hospital and away from the chaos of the city center. We had a great time. Isabella is very hospitable and welcoming.

Structure in a beautiful location, a bit outside and 'raised' compared to the city center, which is reachable on foot in 40 minutes. The area is immersed in greenery and away from the chaos, in a true corner of paradise for being so close to the center. The tram stop is less than 10 minutes on foot and if needed, there is also the bus terminus 100 meters away for those who do not want to walk. Isabella is a magnificent manager, she welcomed us with joy and kindness and gave us lots of tips to make the most of the little time we had available. We were three girls and even returning at 1 am on foot from the tram stop to the structure, we had no problems because the area is residential and very quiet. There is only a climb of about 300 meters that takes the breath away from those who are lazier. Cozy and very clean room, equipped with bath products and hairdryer. Additionally, there is a kettle with tea and instant coffee, as well as some snacks for breakfast. Surely, if we were to return to Florence, we would definitely come back to this structure!
