Description
The Hotel Marchionni, builded on 1923, is located in Piazza Puccini in the "VIP Lounge" of Viareggio, just 50 mt. far from the sea, in front of "Passeggiata" and "Viali a Mare". It is the most monumental and artistic Area of the City, for quality and quantity of building of architectural interest. The construction project was made from Alfredo Belluomini and Galileo Chini, they have signed many other realizations on the Viareggio's promenade, among them the Hotel Principe di Piemonte, the Grand Hotel Royal and the Café Margherita, the Liberty Temple, which hosted, as remembered by a plate of 1949, characters like Marconi, Toscanini and Giacomo Puccini.
The 41 Rooms, 16 with sea sight view, are equipped of all of comforts: air conditioning, heating, TV colour, direct telephone, safe, private bathroom, hair dryer.
The Hotel Marchionni have an agreement with beaches, Bagno Guido and Principe di Piemonte, that propose to our guests special conditions and discounts.

We stayed only one night. The structure is outdated, dinner was just sufficient in quality although I must say that they served us gluten-free dishes (my daughter and I are celiac) even though I cannot rule out contamination. Overall, considering the price and location I would return but without using the kitchen service. Breakfast is sufficient, it is plentiful with various choices but nothing is homemade. Strategic location for the sea, impossible to find parking unless paying daily. 8 euros if paid at the hotel.

We spent a week on vacation. The location is great, close to the beach, but the major flaw was the cleanliness. They came every day, but cleaning is something else. Upon returning from the beach, there were hairs on the bathroom floor and the sink was never cleaned. Not to mention the room, which was completely dirty when walking barefoot after the shower. It is understandable that it is difficult to clean the sand, but if you use a vacuum cleaner, you can get rid of the bulk. Instead, they used a broom and a mop with bleach. In the bathroom, the drain was dripping and, from the wall, when the upper floors used water or flushed the toilet, water would start pouring down and we had to put towels on the floor. On the terrace, not due to their fault, there were pigeon droppings everywhere, but in seven days they were never cleaned. The breakfast was not varied. My husband, who drinks juice in the morning, could not find it for the first two days and when I asked the waitress, she replied: today we have iced tea. It was not varied for the price you pay, anyway, a better service would be needed. Positive note: the air conditioning in the room worked. The lady at the reception was nice and kind. However, it would take little to improve everything. Cleanliness is essential even if the structure is old.

Old and in need of renovation, 100 or 50 years ago it would have been great, today they should offer much better rooms for that money. The location is great though, right on the beach.

We had a good experience in terms of price and location, the staff was kind, but in the evening and at night we felt really unsafe. There was a group of people hanging out outside the rooms making noise, sitting in the hallways with loud cell phones and slamming doors until late, showing no respect for those who wanted to rest. They kept making noise until late at night, and started again at 6 in the morning. We alerted the reception but they did nothing about it. The breakfast was very basic but in the end, for the price, we can't complain. I would have given a slightly higher rating if it weren't for this situation with these people.

The stay was completely ruined. The internal structure is outdated, with poorly cleaned and malodorous rooms. The air conditioning is noisy and old, while the window is unusable due to the presence of pigeon droppings.\n\nThe bathroom is small and the shower is equipped with a wobbly and broken plexiglass cabin. Dust particles lie on the walls. Moreover, the corridor is very narrow, with a dated elevator equipped with an ancient mechanism.\n\nThe breakfast is of cafeteria quality, inedible.
