Description
The apartment is located 180 steps, a two-minute walk from the Florence Santa Maria Novella train station, in the historic center, a stone's throw from the main tourist destinations. Located on the first floor of an ancient building in typical Florentine style overlooking the main street, recently renovated with care and attention to detail. The natural stone floors with traditional decorations, the period furniture and the handcrafted doors made by a local carpenter create an authentic and welcoming atmosphere. The bathroom, although small in size, offers a large and comfortable shower.

The living area includes a fully equipped kitchen with an induction cooktop, a single sofa bed, and everything needed for independent cooking. The bedroom can be arranged with either a double bed or two single beds, depending on the guests' preferences. The apartment is equipped with air conditioning and unlimited Wi-Fi.

The location is perfect for those wanting to experience the heart of Florence while enjoying convenient transport links. The Santa Maria Novella Station and the tram stop to and from Galileo Galilei Airport are just a short walk away, as are the main attractions: the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi Gallery, the Fortezza da Basso, the Leopolda Station, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and Polimoda. It’s an ideal choice for couples, friends, or business trips.

Hey from Marco

Member since October 2025 | 292 hits
Marco hails from Florence and has a deep love for his city. He values everything that is handmade, and Florence is the ideal place for this. The apartment has been renovated and furnished to reflect the traditional style of the area, allowing guests to immerse themselves in an environment rich in artistry and craftsmanship. The furnishings and finishes are authentic and of high quality. The floors feature classic cement tiles, recreated using bronze molds from the late 19th century. The kitchen and doors are made of solid larch wood, while the bathroom is crafted from chestnut wood. The bathroom is adorned with genuine Carrara marble and authentic travertine. The furniture consists of original mahogany pieces from the early 20th century, carefully restored to maintain their authenticity.

The aim is to welcome guests into a space that feels both new and familiar, making them feel at home in an apartment equipped with all comforts and meticulously attended to in every detail. Ultimately, I wish to promote and share my city, providing a pleasant memory of a stay that evokes the past, which I hold a certain nostalgia for.

Area Santa Maria Novella
Florence is a city steeped in history and charm, and the Santa Maria Novella neighborhood represents one of its beating hearts. Among its icons, the majestic Basilica of Santa Maria Novella stands out, an architectural jewel of Tuscan Gothic.

The Basilica of Santa Maria Novella: A Gothic Masterpiece

The Basilica of Santa Maria Novella is an architectural gem that stands majestically in the Florentine panorama, representing an authentic masterpiece of Tuscan Gothic. Built between 1279 and 1357, the basilica is a symbol of art and devotion, bringing with it centuries of history set in its stones.

Inside, the basilica holds some of the most remarkable works of art in the city. Masaccio's Trinity, dating from 1424-25, represents one of the earliest uses of perspective in art. The Crucifix by Giotto, a youthful master of the Renaissance, is a masterpiece of mastery and emotion.

The adjoining convent, built by the Dominican friars, adds a further layer of meaning to the basilica. Its history, intertwined with that of the church, contributes to creating a unique environment, imbued with spirituality and culture.

The façade, divided between the lower part in Romanesque style marble and the upper part completed a century later by Leon Battista Alberti, is a unique element in the panorama of Florentine churches. Its historicity and uniqueness make it one of the oldest and most significant facades in the city.

Even today, the basilica is a place of devotion and discovery for anyone who visits it. Visitors can admire Ghirlandaio's frescoes in the Tornabuoni Chapel, immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Paolo Uccello's frescoed cloisters, and contemplate the magnificence of the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella as the cultural hub of Florence.
