Description

The Camellia Garden is ready to welcome you for a stay in the peaceful countryside of Lucca.

Our B&B is located inside an ancient 17th-century convent, as you can see from the engraving at the entrance (dated 1641), situated in the delightful town of Badia di Cantignano, a small village surrounded by nature between Lucca (just 5 km away) and Pisa (15 km away). All our rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, a private bathroom, air conditioning, and a TV. Additionally, you can enjoy our beautiful external garden, equipped with games for the little ones.

The Camellia Garden - B&B is located within a historic courtyard, in the small rural hamlet of Badia di Cantignano (Capannori, Prov. of Lucca), at the foot of the Pisan Mountains, at the beginning of the Vorno Valley. Thanks to its location, just 5 km from the center of Lucca and 15 km from the famous Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, our B&B represents the ideal solution for those who want to visit both historic cities in a day, without giving up the peace of the countryside. Just 5 minutes from the property is the outdoor swimming pool "Le 4 Torri", accessible via an AICS card. Finally, the proximity to the Borgo delle Antiche Camelie della Lucchesia adds even more value to the location of our B&B, inspired by its name.

Giardino delle Camelie B&B awaits you for a stay in the tranquility of the southern Lucca countryside, near the Via Francigena and the Via degli Acquedotti. We are in a small village of Roman origin called Badia di Cantignano, which can boast an enviable strategic position. To the west you can find the "itinera romaneca+" route which leads to the "Parole d'oro" (the large cistern of the Nottolini aqueduct), following the aqueduct path northwards for 4 km you can reach the historic center of Lucca with its Walls, while going south for 10 km you arrive at the Terme di San Giuliano and shortly after (about 5 km) Pisa. Finally, the Lucca Est motorway connection allows you to reach the beaches of Versilia very easily.

Quiet place, excellent for staying away from the hustle and bustle while at the same time convenient for reaching Lucca, Pisa, Viareggio, etc. The property is dated but well maintained, great for lovers of Arte Povera; the owners are welcoming, kind and helpful. Inoltre, vorremmo chiederle il motivo di un voto così basso per la struttura (7), dato che si tratta di un ex convento del 1641, le camere sono tutte spaziose così come i bagni. Il camino di sotto è a Pellet di modo che sia programmabile e abbia già riscaldato il pianterreno per quando gli ospiti scendono per la colazione. Infine, perché solo 8 al gestore? È stato scortese? Buongiorno, Vincenzo. 4 come posizione è un’insufficienza molto pesante e grave da dare. Non ti sembra? Siamo in una corte storica del ‘600 a fianco della via Francigena, fra Lucca e Pisa. Immersi nelle ville lucchesi di Vorno (vengono da tutto il mondo; anche perché sono location s molto ambite per i matrimoni) … Anche tutti gli altri voti 8 non mi vedono d’accordo. Siamo una piccola realtà e si fa il massimo con quello che si ha. Sempre pronti ad accogliere le esigenze del cliente. Rapporto-qualità: ti sfido a trovare un prezzo uguale per la camera che hai scelto in provincia di Lucca, della stessa qualità.

The host, Nicola, was welcoming, helpful and delightful. The house is a converted 17th-century monastery, tucked away and extremely peaceful. Both the bedroom and the shower room were a really good size and spotlessly clean. The air conditioning was very efficient and quiet. The breakfast included cereals, fresh fruit and croissants (arguably the best I have ever eaten) with preserves. A couple of pointers: you will need to use your car satnav, and I would suggest arriving in daylight since it is secluded with little street lighting. Parking can be tight and there are quite a few steps to negotiate if you are slightly infirm. Regardless of these considerations, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

I was looking for a comfortable solution for two nights for a business trip and I found this wonderful family-run BnB! The structure has maintained the charm of its historical significance (17th-century convent) while presenting accommodation solutions immersed in the Tuscan greenery, while always remaining close to every comfort (Lucca is 5km away). My single room (Turandot) was perfect and equipped with everything necessary as was its external private bathroom, provided with courtesy kit, towels, and exceptional cleanliness! The host Nicola is extremely kind and helpful not only regarding the welcome but also to provide advice on tourism in the area and to chat over breakfast, which when traveling alone doesn't hurt. I hope to return to this fairy-tale place to better discover the whole area! Thank you for everything.

Our first time in Lucca and using the Italian B&B site. Found this accommodation that's a gem and not too far from the main centre, it's best if you have a car though. Parking just outside the walled centre is easy and cheap. Nicole was super friendly and helpful, his recommendations for a local wine bar and restaurant were fantastic, his simple but tasty breakfasts kept us going until lunch time. The fridge in our room came in handy and the views from our bedroom window (madam butterfly) were what I'd love to wake up to every morning. Would recommend as a base for Lucca and Pisa.

Escaping from Rome, my partner and I decided to spend a weekend between Pisa and Lucca in search of some peace and relaxation, and we found exactly what we were looking for. The property is located in a very quiet area, surrounded by greenery, 10 minutes by car from the center of Lucca and about 30 minutes from Pisa. The building, recently renovated, maintains its original features but has been made perfectly functional. The room and the bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The owner immediately proved to be a courteous, friendly, and approachable person, and he was able to give us advice on what to visit and where to find good Lucchese food. It was very pleasant to spend two nights in this property. The breakfast (the highlight of my day) was excellent, with a wide choice of food and drinks and the opportunity to chat with the owner and receive some tips on what to do during the day. In short, if you are looking for a good place to recharge your batteries, this is the right place.

Excellent structure, equipped with different rooms. The booked room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The included breakfast was simple but abundant, with the addition of seasonal fruit and local products, a nice surprise. Excellent location to reach the center of Lucca by car. Being a former convent, the B&B is charming, with wooden beams on the ceiling and antique objects. There is also a relaxation area in the garden. The breakfast was very good, abundant and with artisanal products. We were welcomed by Nicola, who assisted us throughout the stay with great kindness and attention. Beautiful structure located in a typical Tuscan farmhouse, a few minutes from the center of Lucca and all the services that could be useful while traveling: restaurants, supermarkets, bars... The property is in a fantastic location, just a few minutes drive from the beautiful Lucca, but located in a quiet village in the Lucchese countryside, which allows you to savor the tranquility and calm of the Tuscan province. B&B obtained from a completely renovated farmhouse equipped with all the comforts, but at the same time maintaining the rustic characteristics of the past. The owners are young and dynamic people, ready and attentive to every guest's request and to advise you on the best ways to visit the area. Perfect stay, among the best ever! The structure is easily reachable except for the parking, but just notify when you are there and you will be immediately guided. The location is excellent, both for the ease of reaching both Lucca and Pisa, and because it is immersed in greenery but close to the center and the necessary services especially excellent restaurants recommended by the owners. The rooms are really beautiful, perfectly renovated, leaving the rustic flavor of the era intact, and very clean (for the first time in my life I slept in a bed in a structure without imagining it dirty or with bad smells). Breakfast is served at different times according to the request, so you don't have to rush, and the owner offers, in addition to the buffet in the common room, freshly prepared, hot drinks and fresh products on request. Small suggestions for improvements (I am really picky): offer one of the two pillows, much lower than the other, because I am used to it, if I had to stay more nights, I would have had problems; inform that, in some of the recommended places, it would be preferable to book.

We stayed at this property for only one night, but it was enough to say that we had a great time and found a truly beautiful and very unique location. Our room was the one defined by the manager as a "suite", with an entrance featuring a small sofa and a fridge, a very large and spacious bedroom, and a bathroom almost as big as a room. The location of this property is not easy to trace, but by setting the navigator correctly, you cannot go wrong, especially because Capannori is composed of many villages. The Giardino delle Camelie - B&B is located in a quiet area in Guamo and is very well-kept and clean. Furthermore, the manager is very kind. If I were to pass through the area again, I would gladly return.
