Description
The B&B Castagna Dulcis is located near Abbadia San Salvatore (SI), on the slopes of Mount Amiata, the ancient volcano.
The town can be reached by car in a few minutes or if you prefer on foot.
The environmental context is very suggestive. The garden is a natural balcony overlooking the Val di Paglia furrowed by its dramatic gullies. On clearer days, beyond the village of Radicofani, you can enjoy the view of Torralfina and Lake Bolsena. On the opposite side of the B&B the view is dominated by Monte Amiata with its largest beech tree in Europe.
The B&B has a land of 3 hectares of which a part is made up of a wonderful chestnut wood which gives its name to the locality "Castagnatucci".
The Castagna Dulcis B&B is a shrewd and sustainable renovation of a portion of a 17th century farmhouse. The electricity requirement is produced by photovoltaic panels. The B&B is powered by green energy
At guests' disposal 4 double bedrooms, unique, elegant environments, decorated with great passion by the owners respecting the traditional architecture and materials of the place.
The rooms have been designed to ensure peace and privacy for everyone. Each bedroom has an exit to the garden and to a corner where you can relax outside.
Breakfast is served on the veranda
Throughout your stay we are at your complete disposal to advise you on activities to do, book tours and restaurants
The B&B is the ideal starting point for discovering Monte Amiata and Val D’Orcia

My name is Lauro and I have lived in this farmhouse with my family since the 1990s. With great passion we have decided to renovate a portion of the farmhouse to allow guests to experience a holiday in nature and get to know the territory of Monte Amiata. We wish you a pleasant stay at the Castagna Dulcis.

Area countryside
A stay at the B&B Castagna Dulcis will make you discover another Tuscany, different, with another flavor, another landscape. It is the Amiata area. An atypical and almost unknown Tuscany. More sour, essential. We are between the provinces of Grosseto and Siena, among beech, chestnut and fir woods.
The B&B Castagna Dulcis is located near Abbadia San Salvatore, on the Sienese side. The town can be reached by car in a few minutes or if you prefer on foot. Do not miss a visit to the Monastery and its crypt and the Mining Museum, a historical sign that is very important here on the Amiata. From Abbadia begins the area of ??beech and chestnut woods. There are many paths that can be covered, both on foot and possibly by bicycle, all marked and clearly visible, to allow everyone, both experts and less experienced, to walk in safety and tranquility. Do not miss a visit to the "summit" of Amiata at 1738 meters above sea level with its monumental cross 22 meters high.
L 'Amiata is a lonely place, away from the confusion where you can enjoy idle days and picnics in the meadows or exciting descents on the ski slopes in winter, not to forget autumn with its colors and its fruits, mushrooms and chestnuts to taste in local restaurants or during the numerous seasonal festivals. We offer the so-called silence tourism which means walks and trips, or even trekking, in quiet places. Here the light pollution is very low and at night you can see the stars very clearly.
The B&B Castagna Dulcis is also an ideal starting point for visits to discover the villages of the Amiata - Valdorcia area such as Vivo D'Orcia (distance 8 km) for an excursion to the Ermicciolo springs, Radicofani (distance 17 km) famous for its Rocca that looks towards the Val D'Orcia and dates back to before 1000 and Bagni San Filippo (distance 10. 1 km) renowned for the free thermal baths of the Fosso Bianco.

A presto... !:) <3.
